So since this info isn’t really revealed in UBW I feel like it’s ok to tell you how the show incorporates the routs from the original game. Since you have been told already Fate started as a light novel game with hentai scenes. In this game depending on your choices the main character would get a different ending and kinda sorta fall for a different girl. In this specific show I believe we are seeing the second route where the first one was in the original Fate/Stay Night anime. This one has more of a focus on Archer and our other main character, but that’s all I’ll say right now.

You are actually kinda meant to see the original Fate/Stay Night before this. You are seeing the same events as in that show for now, but from a different perspective. That goes until the story of the shows diverge. It is more extreme in the Heaven's Feel movies.

"The Archer class really is made up archers." is kind of bullshit actually. There's the odd servant in other series (that we might not get to given how many spinoffs there are in Fate, so don't go calling this spoilers) that's of the Archer class but are actually Riflemen or Pistoleers.

Now I can tell you a funny thing this series is made fun of for. It has some odd mistranslations such as "The Archer Class is made out of Archers." Like the first series had a line, "Just because you correct doesn't mean you're right." Though from what I hear this was more of a writing error but it's meme able, nonetheless.
