About her being embarrassed with him for yelling he loves her, it has to do with Japanese cultures. Public displays of affection, or causing any kind of scene in public are usually considered inappropriate. The culture is big about not causing waves or inconveniencing others. Also, the maid yelling "Slay all Evil" is a famous quote from a shinsengumi character in the Kenshin series (I believe it was on the last series poll). But he uses a katana, not a giant buster sword heh.
