Hejinmal is the smartest/luckiest character in this series. Instantly recognized Ainz and his crew to be a threat he couldn't deal with, surrendered immediately (just before he was about to die), and got all his step moms owing him for saving their lives, putting himself at the top of the dragon hierarchy. Also, Shaltear immediately offering to pee for Ainz if he's into that thing, a very Shaltear thing.

Not so fun fact: The Quagoa didn't send in any children to be killed. But of course, the number of children still had to be cut down to 2000. So, the Chief had his own soldiers execute the kids, probably because he thought it'd be a more painless death than sending them into a meat grinder.

I don't think the treasure in the treasure vault was dragons', but dwarves' royal treasure, the dragons just kept their lair/loot next to the door, since they couldn't enter the vault. Ainz had to use special key to open the door.
