The Trade Federation is probably the most influential group within the Separatists, they were basically a Mega Corp, with huge economic power (enough to afford an army of droids). So the guys leading the droid army are more corporate higher ups than actual soldiers.

Trade Federation is actually playing on both sides. Techno Union also was neutral during the war but they were more closely link to the separatist

Back to Ryloth. Remember a few episodes back when the republic just barely managed to get blockade runners to get resources into the planet. Unfortunately the entire clone garrison with the Jedi died in action. It took the republic this long to muster a force to attempt this liberation, showing how outnumbered the Clone army is. Number of clones is never really accurate but your aardvarks number in the billions so you 🫠
