And just like that were done with season 4. definitely the best season so far. I still can't believe this show is this good. There's a part of me that really pities Maul. I can't imagine what it was like to be raised by a Sith lord. It certainly doesn't set you up for a quality future. He's so messed up now that he really only has hatred and fear, and he can't move on even if that would be what's best for him. He has a chance at living a life now but he's not going to do that. Its just so pathetic.

It would probably be a good idea to see the phantom menace and attack of the clones to see the origin of most of these characters. Revenge of the sith you would probably be better off saving until after the show's over though

Maul was insane. Slaughtered people to draw Obi-Wan to him. Had several years of hatred that caused him to go insane. If it wasn’t for Asajj, Obi-Wan would’ve been dead. What got me chills as a teenager was the ending line of the Republic hunting them down: “I’m counting on it.”

Maul is obviously hinting at having more background knowledge of how the Clone Wars were manufactured than most people. But he also hasn't gotten any updates since he was cut in half, so it's interesting so see how he chooses to operate. Also, while Savage never really seemed to know what to do on his own, Maul definitely knows how to make long-term plans, making him much more dangerous on top of his obvious skill and ferocity in battle.
