So, to clarify, the memory zone and "god" you were talking about both refer to Od Laguna, yes. The R/L thing is just a common bit of translation jank. R and L are the same sound in japanese, so localizing them is often just "random BS go." But anyways-- I also thiiiink Od Laguna is pronounced like "owed", with an "oh," rather than with an "ah," like "odd," going by how Puck pronounced the word before when referring to the core of spirits. I'd explain more about Od Laguna and such, but it's been years since I struggled my way through a then-untranslated web novel that I could barely parse, so I wouldn't want to risk spoiling anything that might still get explained later. Hard to tell what the anime cuts/reorders versus just what I've forgotten or whatnot-- part of why it's been such a treat to finally see in the anime! That all being said, the instant it turned out to be a memory zone and there was the Roxas comprison, I half expected the end to just turn into y'all singing Simple and Clean, lol. The way it GENUINELY ended up such a Kingdom Hearts kinda fucking season had me dying nearly as much as the lunar program-- genuinely always just so damned fun to see these reactions! Seriously just always such a treat for this ravenous Re:Zero fangirl, lol. Ah, but if they *don't* explain stuff like "why did Reid's book take us here!?" in the anime, then I'll absolutely start sharing details from what I remember. Not worth the risk of doing so now, just in case it'd end up being spoilers, though. Also I think that maybe the reason why Rem could appear was that... ah, damn, I don't think I can explain that, as I forget if that was a thing that gets explained later, or if it was an interpretation. Hrm. Oh! But what I think I *can* explain is that Gluttony can only eat the same "person," as in "identity", once. Thus, her scheme was to eat the OG Subaru, and then to get Subaru 2.0 to reject the identity of "Natsuki Subaru". As you mentioned, it's a loophole, exactly like how Felt's name was a loophole, except instead of that instead being a loophole that *prevented* Gluttony's authority from working in a situation where it elswise might, it's instead the exact opposite: a loophole that would allow her to eat the same person twice, by making sure they first consider themselves to be different people, I guess? The whole thing with Natsuki Subaru and "Natsuki Subaru" is pretty wild, though. I remembr the titles to those chapters giving me chills. Like, if she'd gotten him to agree that "I'm not him," and thus to declare that "Natsuki Subaru" is a completely different "person" from Natsuki Subaru... then, for all we know, she could have repeated that process forever, as some kinda infinite food exploit. Truly gluttonous, indeed. But anyways. I've yapped more than enough, but I normally try not to reply *too* much, at risk of potential spoiler stuff or whatnot, so it's long past time I return to the deppppppths. My bad if any of that is still a bit much, though-- just over here kinda bouncing off the walls every time a new episode drops, and then again every time a new reaction's up. ^^;

Is it just me or is the occasional occurrences where Emelia would lengthen particular words like you did with "deppppppths", mimicking Roswal L. Mather`s verbal tick or speech pattern? Do I need to suspect your secretly Roswall M. Matters? Are you the next target of Roswall`s Soul Transcription technique?

Nah, that one's just Emilia emulating her mom, Fortuna, who did much the same. And it's only with very specific words, i.e. sugooooooku. In Roswaal's case, though, it's him emulating Hector, the witch of Melancholy, whose eye I think he took and maybe is a key part of how he's managed to make soul transcription work? Him imitating that speech pattern and makeup and stuff is basically equivalent to childishly mimicking someone stronger to try and convince himself that he's capable of being that kind of unstoppable monster. But, as Puck said to him in Arc 4 (Season 2), he's still just human, no matter how far he goes. Though, if you want to go *super* crack-theory territory with it, who's to say Fortuna didn't partially adopt that particular tick from Hector? Or that both of *them* didn't learn it from the same place? Extremely doubt it, but then again I also think Fortuna might have ended up as Wrath-- like, between the bandages and her having both silver hair and purple eyes, perhaps she's emotionally frozen in the wrath she had towards Echidona like how Betelgeuse was stuck with his fixation on love? Which would also explain her fixation on him. No idea on if there's any real evidence to support that one, though. Very shot-in-the-dark, like wondering if Subaru is somehow Flugel, or whatever. I *do* feel pretty sure that Minerva is Emilia's mother, though. Thus, "daughter of the witch." The blue in Emilia's eyes specifically could be indicative of Minerva's, it'd explain Emilia's absurd physical strength, and the conversation in the Witch's Teaparty after Emilia completed the trials is like... "so was why *Minerva* the one to appear?" And from what Minerva did and said, of wanting to try and avoid seeing Emilia's face, and saying she didn't have any right to cry now, and the way she lit up in a particular way when hearing that Emilia did grow up loved by Fortuna as her mother, plus the hug and all that. Idk. There's genuinely just so many cool and absurd-but-maybe-slightly-possible theories for basically every corner of Re:Zero, and I'm not really tapped in to public sentiment stuff about which people know about or consider to be probably true or whatever. Hell, plenty of them are probably not even theories anymore, and are confirmed, but I just wouldn't know, as it's been a long while since I'd caught up, so I haven't got terribly much more information to work with than anime-onlys, at this point. Which is entirely because I try to just binge an arc at a time, but I don't really read much whilst the anime's airing and/or announced to soon air more, for whatever reason. At some point, I really need to go seek out all the side content and extra stuff I've missed, though. I don't have the heart to read the whole of all the IF stories, as so many of those are depressing as all hell, but I've read summaries of them all. Like how the Gluttony IF is basically if, instead of ever deciding to trust everyone at the tower here, Subaru just went insane about trying to find out who he is by killing everyone to read their books, and then left with Shaula to wander the world and continue doing so, or so on. I got partway through the Sloth IF, where Rem and Subaru do flee the capital, but I'm honestly kinda baffled that anyone can find that story heartwarming or whatever, rather than just incredibly depressing. But like, I haven't read any of the other camp's backstory stories or stuff like that, yet. Honestly, I'll probably take some time to just go re-read it all, eventually, just to see what I missed, what I mixed up, et cetera. Especially since I've never actually read much of Arcs 1-3, given how I'd started reading after season 1. There's just so much to track down and try to read, lol.

Something funny is that rhett said "Rem can stand up now" in 4x12 reaction

We need to find the true true choo choo train of memories! Apparently The Gluttony archbishops, Pandora, the which of Vainglory, and Echidna, the which of Greed all have the shared power to eat, edit, or suppress/seal the truthfulness of memory. We first saw the gluttony authority eat names and memories in Arcs 3 and 4 using both the white whale and the archbishops. Echidna and Puck sealed both Emilia and Puck`s memories using a spirt contract, and Echidna has used her sealed soul to read trial-goer`s memories and use their trauma to experiment and gather knowledge. She was openly friendly with Subaru, but openly hostile against Emilia and Satella. Given how she hated Satella who she knew 400 years ago, and Emilia quite strongly, who was only born 114ish years ago, who despite not being a which, still looks similar to Satella, I have a sense Echidna is just targeting Emilia specifically as "Satella 2.0" and is projecting her hate for Satella onto Emilia. Wait a second... Echidna was creating clones of Ryuzo using mana with Soul Transcription to act as vessels for her own soul to cheat death and achieve "immortality". Which person do we know has a body that is immortal? The witch of Envy. Wait a second... Am I cooking up a theory right now? Hm.... Regardless, another nagging question is: "What happened to Flugel, and why does the Pleades watchtower, which is credited to him, and the first trial, reference stars in constellations from Earth, which only Subaru knows about in the current times."? Nobody alive seems to know, but both the Witch of Envy and Satella for some reason love Subaru for reasons that aren`t explained at this point, only vaguely hinted. Why the heck is there a system where dead people`s memories are being cleaned out of their souls in the "Cradle of Od Laguna", or the "Corridor of Memories", and then a Book of The Dead is quickly generated while holding the memories of the person who died? Who is this sage flugel? Why did he plant down a old tree that lived for 400+ years, only for an isekaied Japanese person to show up and order it to be blown up, and crush a 400+ year old mabeast made by Daphne? Too many unanswered questions!
