Just to clarify The fifth hidden rule, "It is not forbidden to destroy the exam," means they can destroy, smash or bypass the exam. Meaning they can straight up just not partake in the exam. BUT if they were to partake the exam they have to follow the second rule in which "it is forbidden to break the rule" so the two rules doesn't contradict with each other. It's sort of a loophole if that makes any sense. What Rui said about "Separate the Natsuki Subaru from Natsuki Subaru" is because Amnesiac Subaru is still the same Subaru from before he was eaten (Meaning his personality, motive and characteristics is still the same but just Amnesiac), which is why she can't eat him again. BUT if she was to make Amnesiac Subaru REJECT the old Subaru and become on his own person meaning he has a new identity then technically she can eat him. It's the whole point of Rui plan in the Halls of memories in which why she wanted him to kill the old Subaru. How Rui possessed Subaru was shown but sadly had a poor explanation. Last episode showed when Rui split herself into two, and she placed the other Rui inside of Subaru. The whole point of that is because she wanted to make the Amnesiac Subaru doubt the old Subaru (which is why she killed Meilie and wrote that message on his arm) so that way Amnesiac Subaru will reject the old Subaru, which aligns with Rui's plan. The reason Satella attacked the tower is exactly what you think it is. They know about RBD. This goes way back to season 2 when Subaru told Echidna about RBD in the Castle of Dream, which triggered Satella to attack the Sanctuary and try to attack the mansion. Satella doesn't attack when Roswall know about RBD is because he doesn't know the true RBD he only knows Subaru is "Looping" because of the Tome is telling him but he doesn't know that Subaru has to die. Subaru book of dead works as any Book of dead we seen so far. (You guys are thinking to hard about it) Meaning of anyone was to read that book they would experince Subaru life till his "death" I'm not gonna say anything further but just ponder on that.

This latest episode has had my brain wanting to make an elaborate board overflowing with photos, documents, earth-isms, constellations, connected by a chaotic web of red string and pushpins. I have been obsessively trying to unravel the mystery that is this show. In season one when Subaru uses the giant tree to take down the white whale, we see that carved at the top was “Flugel on the scene!!” not in the native fantasy/Kingdom of Lugunica language but in Japanese?! Just like how Subaru writes “Natsuki Subaru on the scene!!” at another time in a book?? 😵‍💫

One theory about that i have is what Rui said about the Memory Hall. Souls go there, get cleaned of all Memories and then brought back down. However Subarus Memories could only be eaten up to the point he entered...so what if Subaru got transported from the Store to here...lived a live and at some point renamed himself Flugel...then he died and his soul got cleaned of Memories BUT it could only remove the Memories he made here and none from his old world. so when his soul was brought back down it just respawned Subaru right after the Store. As his Soul/Memories cant be cleaned more then this so unlike anyone else who would be reborn as a newborn..he just respawns as a new summoned
