I started writing this let’s talk and immediately found myself listing a bunch of negative things again, which seems terribly counterproductive.  And productivity is something I could really use right now!

So let’s start with the most positive thing: you people! Thank you a thousand times over for your continued support. It’s immensely appreciated and while I try not to make stuff for “likes” or anything I do adore every comment I come across.

Now today we have the first release of a shorter comic released on Tuesdays as well. I keep finding myself infinitely guilty for not providing more and higher quality content. Especially in the case of bigger projects. So I thought a little extra Diana might be enjoyed!

As for bigger projects, I am always working on things beyond the normal weekly stuff, though at times progress is slow. As of right now I’m mostly working on a project that is about 40% done, it’ll be six chapters in total, though I’m not going into any further details yet. I hope it to be something that is just another little level above my regular stuff. Hannah will have to wait just a little more, will probably get back to that after this one! Vanessa and Starlight are stuck in limbo for now, though I definitely plan to revive that at some point. I'm sorry for being presumptious with teasers about that series.

But let’s talk about the main reason why I’m making this post: storytelling. I myself think I’m not that good at it. My characters can be a little one dimensional or not properly defined, the storylines are a little simple. It’s something I’m working on, but unlike making pretty big girls it’s a bit more complex! To this end I’d like to ask all of you a question. How do you feel about my stories? Is there anything I can improve? What is your favorite storyline you’ve seen so far and why? I’d really, really appreciate it (if you have the time) if you could tell me what you did and did not like! Vote in the poll below for your favorite story/series, you can only cast one vote!

Don't feel like your characters are poor. I like simple characters that are "Go-Getters". If you want to make them more complex, I'd like to see a basic "Trust and betrayal" storyline. It will force you to write more detailed characters in a Archetypical stories like this. I guess, just practice with this and you will improve in the way you want.

Look up this book called "The Writer's Journey" by Christopher Vogler. It will give you a good template as to how to tell a story. I'm writing a few stories and this book helped me. I'd recommend getting a hard copy so you can use it everywhere. Also, if you look up "The Hero's Journey" (slight difference here) on YouTube, Vogler explains a pattern of writing throughout storytelling very well.

I really like the dialogues you write, to be honest. It feels natural and fresh. I also really like your posting schedule. I always have a story or an ongoing serie to read from you. I also feel that your characters have always different personalities ❤️

I've always wondered what your ladies voices would actually sound like. Either sweet and soft, hard and masculine, or somewhere in between. Can't really picture a match to them. I'm my mind, they all sound monotone.

Your characters are not poor. They are simple, yes, but they are not poorly written. They simply fit the framework of the story you are trying to tell. This is also compounded with the fact that you are releasing the story in chucks, and more complex storytelling would better serve a more completed release. If you are looking to make more complex storylines are characters then really map out where you want them to go and have trust in your narrative! Personally, I am of the mind that you should continue your simplistic ongoing stories, but work on the bigger projects on the side that really illustrate just where you want to go. Ask for advice from other creators and don’t be afraid of the feedback for the community. Now to answer your question, at of all the stories listed I would say Growing Time was by far the most interesting. Each installment had a mystery that had me curious about how it was gonna pay off. I feel the same way about the family of Amazons! One thing that you have that is an enormous positive is your creativity. You constantly create new characters, scenarios, and stories no matter how simple they are. You should leverage this and once again do smaller weekly comics with ideas that you may or may not be sure about but may feel it would be cool to have as an ongoing series. Lean into your community and they can help you shape up concepts you may be trying to get off the ground.

I think balance is key. If you're itchy to explore more complex characters/plot development, you should pick one or two projects and go for it, but keeping the easy-going ones coming. Diana's Roleplay is a simple story? Yes. It's nice and fun to follow? Definitely. Simple and well-executed stories will always be welcome.

I'd stack rank the story telling as follows: (#1) Naughty November = Pair of loving adults dealing with a marital conflict in a reasonably told way and coming from a compassionate place. (#2) The Girl Next Door = Young love and the courtship of two nice people who happen to both have invested and loving parents. (#3) Competitive Growth = The most antagonistic of the bunch but we get a sense for who everyone is and a clear characterization for why they do what they do. There are, the next tier down would be: Alt Amazon, The XYZ of Amazons series, The Queen's Gambit and Gateway Growth. Below that everything else is still quite solid (aka, nothing below a C in terms of story). All this to say that it's appreciated that you're aiming for improvement in your story telling, but I'd say you're doing quite well overall with a high average quality.

I like the current balance you have in your stories the only thing that I would change and it's only because of what I prefer is that there is more growth in the story. The stories I prefer are the ones that have to do with growth, but even still I'm loving The Girl Nextdoor which doesn't need growth in the story. The only thing I would like is more Growth Futa stories like Virile Youth, Dating Big, and Queens Gambit where you take a small or insecure character and turn them into hulking studs, but that's just my preference stories like Phoebe's Fame or The Neighbours Daughter were also enjoyable even when the character was already big

Chemicopia

I would love to more slow growth and “earned” growth from working out.

I don't believe that your characters are particularly one dimensional, but maybe this comes from the way you are making your stories. Most of the time your stories are "relatively" short with 3-4 parts (even though those parts have 90-100 pages). With that structure I think sometimes you have to sacrifice something. If you concentrate on feast of strength and other eye candy, you might lose on the narrative side and if you focus on character development, you might have to tune down other aspects. I think you found a solution to this in some of your stories, like Dating Big and The Girl Nextdoor (the first had a smaller scope in terms of narrative and gave time for the characters to shine while the other uses scenes and events to let us know the characters better). What I'm trying to say is that I don't think there is a golden rule that applies to every story, I believe it's fine if some have somewhat cliche characters if that serves the plot. But at the same time I like subtle hints and small details that could affect the characters or stories (like mentioning the job of Chloe's dad in Alt Amazon which I believe could have an impact on the connection between Chloe and Eve. But maybe it's nothing and I just create theories, but that also could be useful as readers could get more engaged in the stories).

Robolord

Thank you! Yeah I definitely have to sometimes limit it to one or the other. I just don't want to get bogged down in endless 300+ page stories that'd take up a lot of posts with the risk of people not actually enjoying them all. Which is why I opted for comics between 80-110 pages after which I give you guys the option to chose what gets continued and what doesn't.

VivaKnievel

I'd love costumed superheroics. Some amazon super girl. Whether an alien, or a human girl made mighty by magic or super science. Learning about her gifts, mastering them, and of course absolutely wrecking bad guys without even trying. But your stuff is all terrific! The best Patreon I've ever supported!

Robolord

Aah man you don't know how intense my desire is to make something like that: and how intense my fear is that I'll make something that can never live up to my own hype about it.

I really like it when women start to grow unintentionally but like it afterwards and want to grow even bigger / start to act more dominant. Competitive Growth is just that, so it fits my taste just right. I like the effort you put in to write different characters. For a short story it is really good.
