Wow, it's been awhile since I've seen this. Abbie's anchor is her nemesis. The attention is a drug that comes and goes but she needs Lex around as a reminder of what she was once beneath but now far usurps. The fact that she searched the whole planet for her gave it away. If Abbie kills Lex, she will likely lose her humanity completely. That's my theory.
