About tier names

  • Leave the way it is. People should read the descriptions 🥺 84

Hey patronites! 

Every now and then I get some messages of people mistaken Level 1 ($5) with the "Thank you" ($1) tier, I dunno why, maybe because of the value.

I thought my tier descriptions were clear enough but for some people they're not. There are people who don't even read the descriptions, they just assume Level 1 is the first option.

Because of that I'm considering on making some changes, what do you suggest me?

I know this may seems like a hassle for you, I don't want you to get annoyed over so many changes here , but I don't know what to do 🥺 😭

I Dont really think changing the names of tiers would upset people all that much. I could be wrong, but it’s pretty simple fix if it’s causing you issues. People won’t read fully, it happens lo the time in all aspects. Never fully read so maybe just level 1-6 would be better and easier

Tbh it's not a problem, anything to make this community and your work a bit more pleasant. IMO people should actually read what they are subscribing to. I feel the name "Tip Jar" was a bit more direct on what it actually is the $1, but that's no excuse not to read haha

The people have spoken it looks like 🙌, curious to see if this changes but it looks like the majority says just to leave it alone and people should simply pay attention more 😂🙌

Or if your gonna focus on the other results looks like the overall feeling from 25% is to just make the $1 tier level 1 and scale up But remember over 50% says just to leave it alone 😂🙌

Main problem with this is having to redo all the artworks and change the tier images, rewards showcase and having a few months in a way and the rest different (and this last one specifically bothers me 😅)

Well, gotta look it at from a business perspective, just how many folks have been messaging with the confusion? Cause if it’s quite a bit of potential people subbing to $1 when it fact they want to sub at the $5, then the benefit might be worth it If it’s not much, well, the majority say leave it alone, so the work may not be worth the hassle

Maybe try for one month to add the price to each tier and see how that goes honestly, Less things to change, and it adds that one extra piece of important information

Digging to some old messages to see how many gets confused I realized it happened before with the old layout that had princes on it as well. So I assume it’s because it’s not the first option. It means it doesn’t matter what I do, it’s still gonna happen 😅 Sounds like I have two options: Rename them all or do nothing. There are not many people who get mistaken, but it makes me sad that these people were expecting one thing, they wait the whole month and finally discover they were at the wrong tier.

Then you gotta weigh how much that matters for you If it does then change it, Or If it’s not much people, handle it on a case by case basis OR (I just thought about this) Use the vedobot, and mass message only your tier 1 and $1 tier patreons like halfway through the month to confirm if they are in the right tier or are confused

Guys I know it may not be the ideal, but I'm gonna change the "Thank you" tier name and I'll change a little bit its description, cuz this is the fastest option for me. Renaming all the tiers would imply to change all the art design of my Patreon (sets showcase, tier descriptions, about etc) Leaving it alone would just make me feel bad about it 🥺 even if its just a few people, I still care about everyone receiving what they wanna receive 🥴 EDIT: CHANGED. "Thank you" is now "Level 0" (thanks guys who suggested this) Description is now: "TYSM 🥰 👉 Rewards starts at Level 1! But here in this tier you have some perks too 🔓 ✅ Access to my Patreon-only feed ✅ 1 pic of each monthly sets (samples) ✅ News, previews and upcoming plans ✅ BONUS SETS when we reach the goals"

How about “rewards start at the level 1 tier” or “photoset rewards start at the level 1 tier” (and maybe bold that entire phrase Since this whole thing started from confusion, gotta be as clear as possible 🥺

I wanted to suggest Level 0 as well as the simplest, but it seems I was beat by a margin. :D The clearest is probably to shift all the levels, but definitely give this a decent chance.

My advice would be to change "Thank you" to "Tutorial" to match the theme you have going on.

I was gonna suggest "Level 0", too. Maybe "Entry Level" instead? Or the "No Level" as you mentioned. I was also gonna vote for "leave the way it is. people should read", but since so many people asks, and this affects you (cluttering you inbox and also affecting the people who message you for more interesting/important things) I opted for the "Change thank you". I just noticed, you already renamed it "Level 0". Nice!
