Also to clear up what was mentioned in season 1 for Finè was that when one of her descendants comes into contact with an aufwachen wave (the signal given off by a relic or relic fragment when activated),like when tsubasa activated the heaven-rend, it activates her soul which rests within her genome. Finè was already awake when Maria and Co were younger so she couldn't take over at that time.

The trigger for Fine to awaken is exposure to an Aufwachen waveform. Just someone transforming into a Symphogear is enough. Maria was present in during the incident in the opening of the first episode with the other Symphogear user, so it may have happened during that moment.
