I think if you see Hibiki alive next episode the "Fake Death" square should totally be marked. Her taking a big hit and falling, like, 5 stories without her gear and then lying on the ground like she is definitely implies she might be dead. Especially when you add in the frantic Miku screaming.

Yeah... I'm always saying "Maria best girl" and sadly I do realize she seems to be the least favorite of them all. I'm not going to pretend to claim to know why, but i have my guesses. The trope to Hibiki is lovable so her place is logical. Kirika's personality is just so innocent and adorable I can see why people place her so high on the list. Chris is pretty much always the favorite among most fans. Again, easy to see why, yet I'd also argue she is a little overrated. (Though I love her too) Not sure how people feel about Tsubasa and Shirabe in the overall ranking, but I'd argue they are on the lower end overall. For me, I initially hated Maria. She shows up in season 2 as the villain and acting all hotty and tough, yet when things fall apart for them she becomes so "weak" and emotionally damaged. And then for most of season 3 she felt like filler. It wasn't until re-watching season 2 and 3 that I came to change my view on her. She and Chris probably have the most character growth over the span of the show in total. (All seasons) If you noticed, in this episode, Maria's Gungnir was missing the cape that it originally had from season 2. This proves that Maria is starting to come out of her "shell" now that she has found meaningful friends and a place to belong. Its a subtle nod to character growth, but its there. I think the reason she isn't higher on the favorite list for others is because I don't see any major "tropes" to her character design or personality. She isn't super busty, she isn't super flat. She isn't really any of those "dere" personality types either. You'll see later on that she kinda takes the role of group onee-san. Minus the "ara ara" stuff. So she pulls from no major tropes. I guess others maybe find her kinda bland? I dunno. And did I mention that Micha is my spirit animal?

At this point, there are a few things I'd like to talk about. 1. About the seemingly sudden change in Hibiki's personality. Hibiki in his G days has hesitations, but that's not enough panic for her not to sing. There, Hibiki runs to Maria (even if she apologized quickly) and yells and hysterics at her after the fight. This requires some explanation outside of the work, and in the case of the GX season, the production of the subsequent series was decided from the beginning, unlike the G. Thus the director and screenwriter tried to think of a theme that penetrated the series, and the character of Hibiki changed a little to express it. Details will be understandable by the end of the GX season. (Maybe it's simply because he grew up mentally.) 2. To tell you more about the outside of the work, the Symphogear series was originally planned only for the first season. However, the production team, which was more successful than expected, followed up with Symphogear G. Originally, we were going to complete the Symphogear G, but as the Symphogear G was even more successful than expected, the Symphogear Project gained a lot of sponsors, and the start was the GX season. (I don't know if you noticed, but there's a scene that contradicts the last scene of Symphogear G for further development.) That's why the work's completeness (for example, the quality of Art work) developed significantly during Symphogear G, but not as much as GX's development. 3.About the disappearance of Maria's black Kungnil's cloak. The appearance of the symphony gear changes depending on the user's mental image and fitness. Maria's gear is a black color that contradicts Hibiki, which can be seen as an expression that she was trying to bear evil. Also, the cape surrounding her body symbolizes the wall of her mind. Communicating and understanding with Hibiki, the cape no longer appeared in her gear. Users' gear design has changed over the season, meaning their gear output has increased as their suitability has increased.
