The funniest part about Hibiki’s dad is that after leaving his family he just ended becoming a minimum wage employee working at a mini convenient store. Showing his life didn’t really improve much after the divorce. In the future seasons his father skills do improve though.

The idea that weakness is strength became an Ignite flint for Maria. Maria thought she could overcome the curse of the sword by gaining "strongness," but in the final episode of the first season, what she needed to overcome Berserk, as Hibiki did, was "strong self-consciousness." Maria acknowledged her weakness as a weak being, but that meant being strongly conscious of what she was. So Maria overcame the curse of the sword. Maria has a little special feeling for the elfnine. elfnine did what she herself could with her 'courage' to the world on the brink of collapse. But in a crisis in which the moon was falling, Maria chose to be swayed by Mom or Doctor ver instead of acting on her own with courage, and is regretting it. Hibiki's family was severely bullied by neighbors, classmates and colleagues after the live tragedy. It is hard to understand that she is a victim, but shortly after the live tragedy, it was reported in the media that she was trampled or beaten to death by others during evacuation of not a few of the 20,000 deaths (this is not revealed in the plot, only known through the production team's comments). It caused the victim's family to be bullied. The company where her father worked also had a victim's family of live tragedy, and because of the above facts, he loses his job. He couldn't overcome the harassment of his neighbors, and he hid himself.

Yep, Maria has a lot of personal growth this season. This was a major moment for her too. Coming to accept herself for who she is, and THEN trying to improve herself. But yeah, the ending of this episode.... Insert the father arc.... Ewwwww..... That spineless little weasel.
