Unlike in GX where the enemies constantly running from fights seemed particularly odd (because getting defeated in a specific way was their goal) I think it seems a little more natural this season. The alchemists are basically family, so when it looks like they're starting to lose control of a fight they back off to protect one another. Unfortunately Adam doesn't seem to care too much about whether they live or die, so long as his goals are achieved.

I know the transformations are nice, but hold your choice until the last season. You MIGHT need new underwear after seeing them. lol Saint Germain and her 2 buddies... I don't hate them. Thing is, I don't like the writing behind them. What I mean is, their goal is rooted in pure intentions and I believe they honestly have the bettering of mankind as their main goal, I honestly believe that. But the problem is that the more you breakdown their goal, the more you realize just how flawed it is. What they are aiming to do is about as tangible as saying you want to end "selfishness". Additionally, for how long they've been around, they should have seen examples of real world history where changed worked and where it didn't. Saint Germain, Cagliostro and Prelati are basically just alchemist versions of Maria, Kirika and Shirabe. They do all the dirty work while Adam sits in his bathtub with that smug attitude of his. Kinda feels like the same plot line, and if that is the case, Adam is using them. Adam is just the new Dr Ver in terms of plot right? Though I do feel bad for Saint Germain, she is in a tough spot now. Unlike Adam, she does have real feelings and emotions. Its clear she doesn't want to kill more than absolutely necessary, so that is probably why she first grimaced when Adam said "sacrifice". But now she is having her conviction tested. Do you kill one of the only 2 friends you have to achieve a goal that might not even work as you hoped? Or do you derail the goal in hopes of an alternative option? One life vs the greater good is a simple choice in terms of logic, but we are human, morals make logic hard at times.

Now that we've had the 'love' reveal, Which was always a thru line of the series, Shirbae and Kirika's unison power up makes much more sense. Their direct and literal love for each other gives them so much more power when they focus it in that direction. It also explains how Miku was able to do all she did in s2. She has a similar love for Hibiki, it was just twisted into a dark reflection via the mirror of the Shen Sho jin.
