i can't believe hyunjin getting comments that they had to look for his charm and stage presence and now he has one of the best stage presences among 4th gen kpop idols, and best in Stray Kids!! Way to shut everyone up Hyunjin..Good job

I made sure I had a tissue box nearby before this ep started. It was the mic pack for Changbin's mic that was dangling. I legit started getting emotional as soon as it cut back to the boys in the practice room for the elimination. This episode hurts so much I still can't figure out why I chose to subject myself to this. ;_; Now I'm going to go watch the memes reaction and some other happy SKZ content and bring my mood back up.

Also I 100% agree that one single live performance shouldn't be the sole stake of an elimination. This show was 100% for ratings and news feeds/social media trending. MNET especially likes to up the drama by cutting out the positive comments that I assume JYP made in order to villainize him and rile up the fans even more. Big 3 are JYP, YG and SM. Bighit has grown a lot very fast, but hasn't reached their level of reputation/standing yet.

I think they want to make the show more dramatic but I think it’s real..Like I feel that the show makes it more dramatic with editing but what happens in the show is real...After they debut as nine they went on a Korean variety show and jyp was there for the beginning of the show with them..He mentioned he eliminated Felix bc at the time he didn’t think he was as good..Ive also seen jyp criticize his other groups even after debate fore very small things..For example with itzy after they debut they were dancing all together and jyp was seeing how well they were doing..And he noticed the smallest detailed in the dance and that they were slightly off and criticized them.So I think the producers and mnet are making the show more dramatic but the Criticism Jyp gives is his true thoughts even if they are small he will still point it out

Now you guys know how we feel when we told you this elimination was stupid. Korean entertainment really knows how to rile you up with these survival shows. There’s one thing that definitely gives me a sign that SKZ were originally supposed to debut as 9 anyway, and it’s JYP’s evaluations. You guys may not have picked it up because you don’t know JYP that well, but there’s something he’s really good at, and it’s seeing potential in people. He can see their “star qualities,” something that might not be obvious to others. JYP himself is actually really good at giving constructive criticism so to see some of the comments he made here that sounded kind of vague made me think there’s some kind of script at play here or they’re really editing out important bits from the show. Idk, this is just my speculations/opinions. It seems like the eliminations go against JYP’s values and what he looks for in a group. Felix’s elimination was so uncalled for. The reasoning behind it was so off and not something that should push someone back from debuting.....I’ll expand on this point after the final ep. Also, I talked about this briefly in the discord with the others but about what you said with JYP telling Chan to do better, it sounded like something that came out more like as a parent than as a director. JYP has a lot of love and pride in Chan, but I can definitely see how that may not have come off so well in the show, in that context. Shabir I totally understand what you mean about Changbin. His whole Glow team was eliminated and as the team leader, he shoulders all that responsibility onto himself. Changbin was so devastated, and to see him cry so hard in this ep was just 😭😭😭 This upload falls coincidentally near Jilix’s birthdays so when I saw Jisung go up to hug Felix first, I lost it. And Chan man. Chan and Felix are inseparable, you can’t take the Aussie bros away from each other. In their recent intro (which you guys need to see when it’s subbed) when they were talking about another member and Chan talked about Felix, Chan said it would be really hard for him if Felix wasn’t there, and the fact that this ep was uploaded the day after //rowlet emote intensifies. I swear, your guys’ timing is impeccable lol. Can this ep be eliminated please? Like throw this ep away. Actually just keep the first half and we good. Thank you.

Felix’ elimination is so heartbreaking to watch... Changbin literally sobbing in the corner, Chan feeling like he failed again as a leader, and of course Felix. Alone in a, after all, foreign country, trying so hard and yet gets eliminated. But look at him now, he is like a special flavor of Stray Kids, without him Stray Kids wouldn’t be the same!

Wonderful reaction as always 😊 While it's true that they never should've gone through this, I can't help but see the silverlining in all of these eliminations. Let's admit it, one of the main reasons why we STAY with these guys is because of this. The eliminations itself made us love them even deeper. The hardships they've been through is one of the reasons we feel sooooo much connection with them. Right? RIGHT?! Before Stray Kids, I've never been a kpop stan. After hearing Slump, I immediately loved Stray Kids. But it wasn't until the Survival Show when I decided to give them 200% of my support. I guess I think of the survival show as a "necessary evil", well at least for me. Welp, I hope my statement didn't come out wrong to you guys ❤️ Looking forward to your next reactions. Finally some happy times ❤️

The editing is definitely done to manipulate the thoughts/feelings of the audience. We saw it in ep. 3 I think it was when Chan was pranking them by acting mad but mnet cut that part. In ep. 10 you will hear comments made about a specific member that hadn't been seen at all throughout the rest of the show. JYP is good at what he does and is liked by the idols. I'm sure he's not perfect and probably does give some harsh criticism but I genuinely think they like him simply based on how they talk about him and act around him ("they" being idols in general not just Stray Kids). JYP gets criticism for management/promotion but that should be placed on the company JYPE, not the individual. Bringing up Changbin's height made me laugh. I'm a shorty too and Stays joke that we're all short like skz. Stray Kids are the shortest boy group in kpop. Changbin is shortest at 167cm, Hyunjin is tallest at 179cm. I.N was shorter than Chan during the survival show but he and Seungmin are both close to Hyunjin's height now. They don't really look that short until you see them around other idols at award shows and such, skz are tiny. "Fun Size" as Chan has called it. Plus, most of them wear shoes with lifts so we really only get a look at their comparative heights when they are doing things like the cooking vlives when they're in their home without shoes on. I'm having such a hard time waiting a week between your reactions, I can't imagine how it must be for you waiting to watch. Looking forward to 9 & 10.

shabir's reactions to changbin were the same as mine. in the last elimination ep, i pointed out how guilty changbin must have felt then, so you can't even imagine how he felt here. 😭 I'm glad you guys share the same changbin feels as me, with all his ups and downs. mnet (the broadcasting company) is notorious for what korean netizens call "devil's editing". every emotion you feel after watching is exactly what they want you to feel. they do it because unfortunately it works for ratings and views lol. their infamous "produce 101" audition programs are prime examples, stray kids is no exception. but at the same time, jyp himself has been a judge on several audition programs or other survival shows. as an avid viewer for years, he's not the type to create criticisms out of nothing, he feels sincerely about everything he says. i have to agree that felix's korean was not good at the time (whether if that was reason enough to eliminate him is another story). this also gives mnet an opportunity for malicious editing as well. anyway, we're on the final stretch for the survival show now! looking forward to the rest of skztember 😊

When JYP said that they have to prove their skills, especially with so many other boy bands to compete with in South Korea its true. There are sooooo many idol groups in Korea who want to make it big, small to big companies it’s so hard to stand out. There are so many good underrated groups, that if they aren’t doing well companies end up losing money to promote them or just disband them. Obviously it hurts to hear these opinions from the head of JYP, but he is definitely not sugar coating anything about the industry. Korean netizens eat up at idols about everything: singing, dancing, rapping, visuals, etc...

We can all agree that there were many moments, including eliminations, that are questionable here, but at the same time I often catch myself being very subjective simply because I love these guys. I've seen the survival show many times now and some of my opinions haven't changed, but at the same time I remember agreeing a lot more with some of the comments JYP gives them throughout the show back when I watched it for the first time. K-pop being toxic is story for another time, but the fact is that JYPE as one of the biggest companies can't afford to debut just anyone so them looking into every single detail is simply tied with the whole image of being an idol in this industry. The sad part is that the boys had to go through this but at the same time I really think this made them stronger and us more invested (which was probably the reason for it all) but at least for me I respect and appreciate them a lot more just because of it. But anyways love your reactions, can't wait to see the last 2 episodes! :)

Felix's elimination is even stupider when you know that Tzuyu, Momo, Mina and Sana from TWICE (who is also under JYP) also were bad at korean when they debuted (they're japanase and thai) and Bambam, Jackson and Mark are also foreign members (chinese and thai) and Bambam wasn't fluent in korean either when he debuted in GOT7. I hated the reasoning of Felix's debut when i got into those groups and saw they got to debut. Even if Felix wasnt good at rapping in korean, he was a great dancer and was never criticised for his dancing, so why eliminate him? He can get few lines and just be a dancer (like he was when he debuted....) and just get better at rapping later. I guarantee Stray Kids would be nowhere near as famous as they are now if he didnt debut with them. All the members are great, but Felix is someone who grabs new fans' attention and i think all stays can agree on that.

This episode always hurts so much 😭😭😭 while I agree with pretty much all of the opinions on here, I do want to point out something else that people haven't really brought up yet. This show is really just televising the final step in the road that trainees take to debut. Instead of these missions, what would normally happen is the company would be changing members in and out to try a different fit, with less people or more, etc. And they do monthly evaluations which are essentially the missions here, where they have to prepare a song and sing it in front of JYP and the other company managers for evaluation. And someone getting kicked out of the debut group for things like unstable vocals or korean pronunciation is not unheard of. Because the company didn't have a say in putting the group together, and JYP himself only saw them once for the showcase, it makes sense that they would want to thoroughly evaluate each members' skills before they let them debut. Yes, this show was made to bring interest to the group and for ratings, but the way the decisions are made is actually pretty standard, and every group that exists today has been through something similar, just behind the camera instead of in front of it. Doesn't mean I agree with them though.
