So many great moments in HxH. This is one of my all time favorites; I hope you like it!

Caleb Rife

so hyped. imo the best shonen has to offer along with one piece. Hope you enjoy

Andy Marks

I’m extremely excited about this. Some of the character development in the anime is among the best Shonen has to offer. Thank you for finally starting this journey!

My most beloved anime and currently #1 on my all time list. When I started this show I had no idea it was going to leave such an immense impact and a big hole on my heart. 148 anime episodes may seem long now but they were not enough once they are over. Don't be in a hurry to finish, take your time because it's a slow burn, like they say "it's not the destination, is the journey" what matters. What makes this anime a masterpiece? Great and consistent colorful animation throughout, wide set of different and intriguing characters, outstanding sometimes otherworldy soundtracks, lots of famous voice actors and performances, and just the pure feeling of setting on an adventure (similar to One Piece) and MANY other things but I'll leave it at that... A series full of incredible highs (and some lows of course it's not perfect by any means) but I feel like you're going to experience some things that no other medium has to offer, I truly do. Now I will shut up, I hope you enjoy this series as much as many of us did, yes there is a lot of hype and a huge fanbase behind this anime, is truly is one of a kind, at least I believe so. There's a lot of work and passion behind this story... Produced by Studio Madhouse Written by Yoshihiro Togashi (The GOAT) Music Composer Yoshihisa Hirano Hunter x Hunter (2011) Thanks for your reaction/reviews! Lots of comments and spoilers everywhere (don't check replies) so be very extra careful (no exceptions). I always try to not hint or use certain vocabulary that may be interpreted otherwise. But still...

Ohhh! I didn't even know this was coming

nice!

Hmm hmu

man ngl your speech at the beginning motivated me , and I'm sure it resonates with a lot of people, all the best to you, we will get this bro , right now and here :)

Cornberry

I think you should enjoy this seeing as you enjoy One Piece as well

john ross

so happy to see that you started this, hope you will have a blast with it, I binged this during covid in 2020 lol, its one of my favorite stories, even outside of anime and manga.

As others wrote, this is definitely a slow burn, but the important aspects are consistent. I'm excited to see how much will Im clue in before it all culminates and becomes very clear.

what lows do you have in mind? The only low I can think of is the greed island arc. Its not bad or anything it just seems mediocre, especially because it is sandwiched between two of the greatest arcs shonen manga have ever produced IMO

Theo Traumato

whow, I forgot that the Phantom Troupe gets mentioned already in ep 1

What I also love about the first episode: It shows that combat is a thing (Leorio and Kurapika were ready to fight) but often its about other kind of encounters and solutions like a storm and non-violent teamwork. Don't get me wrong they are a lot of fights in HxH, its an adventure Shonen after all, but its not only combat, often the obstacles in front of our heroes are not necessarily solved by combat and I love this. (Honestly its like a good DnD campaign)

The score during the moment where you got chills in particular always gets me. Yoshihisa Hirano really delivers in this show, and certainly in this first instance on “Beyond The Seas”

Rayan

You were so close about Leorio's VA, he is from Shingeki but not Jean. He's the original VA of Hannes that played the role in the first season. He got cancer and was replaced in season 2. Unfortunately, he died in 2020 after long battling with the disease.

sonic

If you struggle with any names just listen to how the characters say them and you'll probably be fine. Like here you're pronouncing Kurapika a bit wrong but I'm sure you'll figure it out when you hear it again

I am so unbelievably excited for you to get into this anime, it is truly one of the greats and it tugs at all my heartstrings and also my brain hahaha. Not a new sub to the patreon but I have been excited about this for Months since I saw it on your list of things you wanted to react to. I'm so glad that it seems you've already connected a bit with it since ep 1:)

Really love that you started your journey with HxH. A little off topic but i would love if you would make a video or just talk a little about One Piece. If you are still following the series, weekly or in intervals, do you only watch the anime or do you read the manga. Not forcing you i just would be interested because i also really love One Piece.

insane how togashi planned many, many things later on in the story through the first couple of chapters.

sunshine

I can't tell you how happy I was seeing this on your page, I genuinely think this has the potential to become your favorite piece of fiction ever, taking into consideration your great taste, it's just out of this world good and can never be overhyped, enjoy your very special journey!

Sheru

Oh my god. Its finnaly time

Payam Sharifi

In addition to voicing Hannes in season 1 of Shingeki, Leorio's voice actor was Hughes in Fullmetal and Aizawa in Death Note. I also love his work in The Tatami Galaxy and Arakawa Under the Bridge. Absolute legend, RIP.

Joe skywalker

16:28 I'm glad you took notice of the narrator, bc they are an absolute goat in this anime 😁

Serodin

I've had a lot going on so I've gotten quite behind on your content. Really looking forward to catching up on everything, and very excited for this!

Became a patreon because I could not wait to watch this series with you. It's going to be a great ride
