In terms of animation I would say HxH is the most consistent anime ever. There are almost no dips in quality over the whole series and it does run for 148 episodes. By the way you need to skip episode 13 cause it is a recap but it has one single added information that you will not get otherwise this early on in the series

I wanna point out a thing about the subtitles. When Killua first said to Gon who his parents were he said "They're serial killers", and not "They're asassins". He only explained that afterwards. He was also making sure that he's talking about manslaughter when describing what they do for a living. Like "My mom was in tears as she kept telling me how good I'll be at killing people". They are indeed asassins, nothing wrong there. It's just that Killua went real hard about them killing people instead of referring to the job title, if you will.

One thing about HxH. Especially as you mentioned both Hisoka and Killua are unhinged. To an extent all hunters are unhinged in one way or another. You ultimately end up feeling that way. Even in the beginning with Leorio, saying he just wants money. As we know, all the money in the world can't cure some diseases.

I love how you dive into Killua and Gon's friendship, your analysis of every situation is amazing. I hope that throughout the episodes you will still notice the little moments making it one of the best relationships in anime.
