Me.

Alfabusa.

I place myself on the sacrificial altar again once again.Other common Post Updatist, Earndil, is still on vacation. In fact, he and his partner Sophie was at my house a few days ago!!This despite me decaying at a rapid rate due to an evil preschool virus. He and his partner escaped unharmed however. But afterward, they were held under the thrall of Karl the Deranged, who has recently invaded and undermined the city of Stockholm (he has built a giant mine underneath the city (it will fall into a sinkhole in any moment)).

I am begrieved to report no one has heard from them since.

Anyway whatever LMAO let’s update you on things.

Hunter: The Parenting Script-Writing Issues?

So!Last time, I addressed our most significant bottleneck as of currently. That being scripts. The bottleneck does still remain, all our productivity liquid has yet to pass through it.But, that is not to say no juices have past their gates!

In fact, we’re much better off currently than we were last update.

To start off, the script for the next Sub-Chapter to be released, Chapter 5.2,  the Werewolf Lore Audiolog, has as of yesterday officially been stamped FINISHED! THANK FUCK!!!

So, that will now move into the arduous process of collecting voicework, something that’ll likely be a bit harder than usual since it is quite a long Audiolog with a surprising amount of characters.

What’s more!Chapter 5.3, The O’Tolleys Audiolog starring Boy and Door, is also on its way, but is not yet fully finished. With the Werewolf Audiolog done however, we can direct more attention towards finishing that one too.

There is also Chapter 5.4, what we call The Second Inquisition Audiolog. That one has not had too much work directed towards it, but will now with the completion of the Werewolf Log, as that will be MY primary project going forward.

Finally, there is Chapter 5.5, which hasn’t been touched since last, but is practically finished already as it was the script Earndil wrote and wrapped up before he went on vacation! There’ll be time to tinker with it if need be, but that one was ironically finished first despite being last of the Audiologs you’ll be hearing.

All in all, we’re still stuck in the scripting mines, and the bottleneck remains. But, we just gotta trudge through, finish off all these scripts, and THEN focus more on... other things. We do not want a situation like we’ve been in happening again, so we’re stockpiling scripts going into the future, and making sure that we have scripts immediately prepared for after the release of Chapter 6.

Now, as for Chapter 6…

HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 6

Ahhh, Chapter 6...Much work has been done on Chapter 6.A lot of the storyboarding has been finished and it is just… Looking absolutely gorgeous to me. This will be such a fun Chapter to animate.

Past that, work on the audio has also progressed quite a bit.Voicework has still not been fully recorded yet.Big-D, for one, has not been recorded! For shame!!!But, ThunderPsyker has helped out with the audio editing and has managed to piece together many of the scenes whilst leaving space for the lines of characters who have not yet been recorded for.

Norfolk Wizard Game WHERE?

Alack and alas.Same situation as last.Work has been done on it, Karl in particularl heroically pushing it forward between his bouts of stone-carving beneath Stockholm City. All in all though, it is going way slower than usual due to a lack of people working on it.This will be rectified when the Scriptwork Bottleneck is done for.It is just that we NEED Scriptwork Bottleneck over and done with.Otherwise our fingers will be crushed by the ogre. You understand.

We’ll see where we’re at by next update.

Also, no update on the Gamers of Workshop side of things! So that’s good!!

Just figured I’d mention it, in light of the last post!

Thank you for your time and patience and generosity.

Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Poppenanging!! It’s wonderful to hear from you and yours, and I personally cannot wait to sink my teeth into more H:TP audiologues! They’re perfect for playing while at work, and I thoroughly enjoy the hard work you put into them! Many thanks, and fantastic luck to all of you!

evenpeaks (the wyrms strongest soldier)

what a wonderful Friday to see a hint of my babygirl hopefully getting his shit rocked and having a miserable, terrifying time! thank you all so much for the consistent updates, it’s good to see you’re alive and kicking! we’re ready to wait as long as need be because your work is so amazing. hope karl had a good time building that mine!

Hob Noblin

Thank you for the update Alfa. I am but a humble ghoul and this series remains my desperately sought after vitae, so I shall continue to wait with bated breath. As always, I hope everyone remains safe while working in the script mines!

Kieran Brewer

I was wondering if and when the newer audiologs will be added to the Spotify playlist?

Kyle E Johnson

Good news! Y'all still alive. Glad to hear. And I got a small increase to my monthly income so I can go back to giving more than €1/month! I hope all diseases pass quickly and only cause you to sneeze when it would comedically interrupt your sentences.

DB

Most excellent update on this fine Friday, as I sit under the watchful gaze of Sir D and Kevin at my desk. They tell me things of magicks and the game of Ur for some reason.

Kyle E Johnson

So, what is Markus horrified of, by the way? Did he see the image from last update and discover his furry side, like some members of the audience certainly also did?

Dizzy Li Wizzy

Godspeed, Alfa & team. May your fingers remain uncrushed by the ogre

Lennart

You don’t understand how starved I am for sweet sweet Ogre videos 😅 Gimme moar! 😄😄 My greed aside, thank you all for working so hard on the projects. Any news on the Half Life Project? It’s not my favorite, but all of yours Projects are sweet.

Mister Joshua

I think I can speak for all of us: Yall are worth the wait. Take all the time you need, and I hope everyone enjoys some vacation/escaped from Karl.

morthasa

When I get these update e-mails from Alfabusa, I'm always torn on whether to read them in Wamuudes' voice or in the PENTEX Advertiser's voice. Decisions, decisions...

MorningCock

I absolutly adore you Alfa. Thank you for the update. Good luck at work [and Stockholm aniHOLEtion}. B

MorningCock

Same here, both sitting on my cabinet, but Istead of magics, they whisper me all dark secrets of meatballs with sauce and brussel sprouts, good human foods, yes, yes.

MorningCock

Nah, he just saw his brother, Lemon Ross

Trevor Bond

You guys keep up the good work. Even with the troubles, you're still more productive than most!

EnTropic

so excited for Marckus to be in wolf land

Matagros

I might have brain damage - my first though upon seeing Marckus face and the panel number "p34-D" was "damn must be a pretty big cock". Thankfully, I remain chained to work, bound to create things which aren't as horrifying or nonsensical as my subsequent thoughts. Nice to see the progression though, go team!

goatfrid

I knew I heard growling and pickaxe noices when I last dared entering the Old King's city

Kyle E Johnson

Lentil Rothschild is in this series!?! No way!

Bitter

Me see post. Me happy. I am so hyped for the O'Tolley's Audio Log!

Lindsay

Woooo!!!!

Ogre, pop a nang!

Please do not the rushings, the incredible quality of the show is probably tied to the sheer amount of time you give everyone involved to perfect their craft

Fluffer

I think I preffered Wizard game released as a podcast without the visuals.

Matagros

Seconded. The visuals are amazing, but honestly, I'm here for the script work. I'd probably watch HtP entirely out of shadow puppet reenactments. Then again, we're both Patreon subscribers, which bias us towards accepting more barebones work because we just love it so much. At the end of the day, they have to please more than just their subscribers. I'd be down for a dual release with the podcast here on Patreon, but that probably hurt their views on Youtube, as not enough views within a timeframe = less algorithm reach overall. As much as it hurts me to accept it, we'll probably have to wait until the animations are done :(

Yormolch

It should have been me, not him!

Yormolch

Hope Earndillio didn't catch Stockholm Syndrome. Which going by Alfa and Karl consists of ones voice being contorted beyond recognition and developing a strange obscession with excrements, bile and innards.

Alfabusa (Ogre Poppenang)

So.... As you've broached it, there COULD be a way that NWG releases on Patreon, and that'd be as an exclusive. We, however, have never really done exclusive content before. But this would specifically be in order to not compete with ourselves. Releasing NWG early on podcast platforms would have an effect on the same content's release on YouTube, which is where we actually draw our income from. Spotify and other podcasting platforms earns us nothing, and doesn't have particularly good reach. Having it on Patreon would be a viable option so long as it makes up for the loss of engagement on the YouTube side of things. Which it would as an exclusive. But it'd also break against a tradition of not keeping things paywalled. Something to consider, I suppose.

Cynder111

Quick question to Norfolk Wizard Game. Is it possible to upload episode 2 on Spotify? It took me quiet some time (6 month) to find out that episode 2 came out cause i listen to it over spotify at work. I can not watch the video at work but spotify is allowed.

Alfabusa (Ogre Poppenang)

Sorry for the inconvenience, but unfortunately uploading on Spotify and other podcasting apps has mostly been to our detriment and so we kinda stopped. We survive off of engagement on the youtube channel in particular and if people do not watch or listen to it there, we'll be losing out on that engagement in favour of engagement on platforms that don't really give us anything for us posting their content there. Admittedly cynical, but uploading on all other platforms is inevitably time and effort spent on something that doesn't really provide us enough to justify it, yknow? The one other choice would be uploading .mp3s here on Patreon. Would that be an acceptable alternative?

Matagros

First, as someone with the same request - yes, the .mp3 would be a sorta ok workaround. It at least makes it less of a hassle to collect all audios over individually downloading the Youtube videos. One thing I'll say is that, after enough time has passed (say, 6 months), I don't think Spotify releases necessarily reduce views. That's because someone who wants to watch it on not-Youtube likely has a reason not to at that moment. Otherwise, they would just solve the problem by going to Youtube, right? For example, I use Spotify when running or driving, and Youtube is just a bad option for that. So, if I can't listen to it on Spotify, rather than going to Youtube I just don't watch it. That doesn't change the fact that uploading the episodes has a time and effort requirement, but at least it would be just a waste of time instead of a self-own.

Cynder111

I think that would be fantastic. Thank you very much

death cum

Hes a hellfire sorcerer with ties to the OLD wrym I love him

Alfabusa (Ogre Poppenang)

Excellent, I'll be sure to do that within the next couple of days. I just need to review Chapter 3. Might as well release 'em all here on Patreon at the same time. Before reviewing it and posting 'em though, I just need to finish up a BIT more scriptwork. As for the point about Spotify from Matagros, its a fair point. I'll see if I can't upload EP2 on Spotify in turn, and make a habit of releasing them at a later date on those platforms.

Kyle E Johnson

I'd like to add, if it winds up negatively effecting the YouTube channel, I'd happily return to patiently waiting for the videos. That said. YOOOOOOOOOOO NWG EPISODE 3 LET'S GOOOOOOOO

Kyle E Johnson

It's worth mentioning that, from an outside perspective, releasing unfinished (because without visuals it's technically unfinished) WIP stuff on the patreon behind a paywall seems utterly unremarkable in terms of how "greedy" you guys seem. There's already payment tiers where people get discord access and custom portraits. You're not deliberately withholding or delaying things from the YouTube audience (because the video bit isn't done), all of the other spoiler-free concept art is still free. Having a subscriber benefit of hearing WIP audio for everyone over a certain tier is so unremarkable from an audience perspective, I feel like you'd get more people asking "they didn't do that already? Huh". It seems completely in line with your existing tradition of not paywalling things. Especially if you put it at a very low tier to access. Maybe even the $1 tier, because then it even seems generous. "Pay literally anything and we'll let you listen to WIP stuff before the video is all finished". Not many creators have a pay wall of $1 for all the WIP content. And I don't know how much YouTube pays for views, but I'm willing to bet it's MANY per $1, so that shouldn't mess with the YouTube channel noticeably If this progresses further with paywalled content or other exclusives, then maybe down the line you might start actually giving off the vibes, which you're scared of giving off. And violating the morals you don't want to violate. But releasing unfinished work to people who pay so they don't hurt the YouTube channel? Nah. It's all good

Fluffer

Honestly putting it on patreon is really not out of line. After all, people coming here funds the bigger projects of the main channel, and this is in fact a benefit for all. You are not a for profit company, more people paying means more content and I think everyone here understands that. Giving more benefits to patreon supporters, especially when regular people get the benefits as well, improved even with visuals later is perfectly fair I feel.

Kyle E Johnson

I mean, they're technically doing this for a profit, but I get what you mean. None of the money is disappearing into some family heir's bank account in the Cayman Islands so he can hire an asset manager to make sure he never blows it all, and hire a tax firm to make sure a government never takes it to make sure it actually circulates in an economy somewhere. It's all (minus Patreon fees) going to artists to fund their work, and it's completely fair for the artists to charge money for their work. Especially because, in this case, we're already paying for it with the Patreon subscriptions.
