Update 07/10 - Suggest some ideas for Shorts! (if you want) (Patreon)

AY
Update time!Wow, an update on time?We truly are back.Let's go over a few things.
Shorts!
So!As you can see,a Short is now released!
This is a, uh, "new" format that we're rediscovering. We think animated content starring our HTP cast should not be missed out on even if Arc 2 isn't coming out for a while still. And so, we are bringing back this format because WHY WOULDN'T WE??We are thinking of trying to make a Short each month if we're able!
We just need to stock up on some ideas so if //YOU// have any suggestions for things you'd like to see the characters do in a short format, or if you have any clever jokeS we can pilfer, do tell (WE WILL CREDIT YOU OF COURSE).There is a lot of potential here for just raw antics.
Of note, we decided to release it as a regular video first and foremost as, according to our demographic stats, most of you are not zoomers, and so, you are likely to not be using the YouTube Shorts thing a lot.
But, just because we don't really have any issue with garnering more views from a function entirely based around short-form content when we ARE making short-form content, we also might just make a Shorts version as an alternative that we'll probably release later. It'll just be in an inferior format since the video wasn't really made with the vertical viewing experience fully in mind.
Half-Life: Zero Viscosity is coming THIS MONTH (hopefully)
We got a few projects in the pipeline for this month.
We have decided that foremost of these is that Half-Life: Zero Viscosity shall release on the 21st, unless we fail miserably (which is always a factor to consider).
HLZV is currently in post, we're subtitling it and rerendering scenes that are either missing or in need of some touch ups, so the likelihood of us making this deadline is pretty good.
We are extremely excited and horrified for the release of this thing as its, once more, our first venture into the unknown with a whole different franchise, and this time with far less familiar characters (unless you watched Warhams, you'll find we took a lot of inspiration from the characters in that).
We have great confidence in it, it's very much us doing our own take on the Half-Life universe with just an absolute overabundance of silly shit in it.
You'll find a lot of inspiration taken from classic late 00's early 10's Gmod videos as well as Ross Scott's legendary Freeman's Mind and Civil Protection series, because we are children of our time and we can't help but make this clear.
We also used some small, funny tidbits harvested from the 'interesting Half-Life facts' dump that is the channel MarphitimusBlackimus on YouTube, would highly recommend.
There's also, like, an extended Hot Ones parody thing going on throughout the video which I am all, like..."why did I write it like this?" about now.
It makes absolutely zero sense as a reference, it has nothing to do with Gmod or Half-Life or really anything, I don't even watch Hot Ones that often, I have no idea why this is a thing and why I decided that's the route we're taking with the script, but...
fuck it, whatever, it's still funny to me, it still works, I have no real regrets, I'm just confused about my own actions (I wrote this script like a year ago).
All in all, though, we've had a blast making Half-Life: Zero Viscosity and I direly hope that you'll end up enjoying this our funny little attempt at expansion.
New Audiolog is coming up!
We're not only working on HLZV, of course.
We are still going to keep it up with the HTP Audiolog content because, hell, it's been doing so well thus far, why stop now?
The next one we've got planned is actually a follow-up to the Short that we just released!
It's about Big-D going to the 99p Store to buy a blender for 99p.
That's it.
It goes as you may expect and I will say nothing more.
The Sponsorship Thing
So, the whole sponsorship thing.
We were happy with the response we got in the last Audiolog. Very much so!
A lot of people even claimed to have not even realised it was an ad before it was explicitly made clear to them later, which is a lot of fun.
Now, as said, the ad was only a sponsorship ad in spirit, it wasn't even paid, it was only done as a favour to my local hobbyshop which I love.
We do not know if true sponsored ads will look and feel the exact same way as they did this first time around, I suppose it will depend on the sponsor. It'll certainly, generally, be a shorter affair at least, but we want to make sure that they are worth listening to just for the strange, macabre, horrible character interaction we get to indulge ourselves in with what we set up in the last audiolog.
That being said, I might be saying too much already by telling you this, but we as of just recently got in contact with what is, in my mind, the perfect sponsor for the channel...
Not any of the stock sponsors you've heard advertised a thousand times already, but one that is to the point of tailor-made for this particular channel and its history, and one I and a lot of other people in the studio already have a history with as customers.
We're still in talks so I don't want to make any wild assumptions and I'll stop right here, but if we get a sponsorship with them, I'll be incredibly relieved and very happy.
If you see anything you've already seen advertised many times before instead, you can assume it didn't work out for whatever unfortunate reason. Bleh.
We do have more stuff planned for this month and/or the next, I'll see if we don't go through more of it later unless it just so happens to drop into your lap before then. We'll try like hell to keep things rolling after the lull, and we really hope you got into a heated blender debate in the comments of the Short.
That will be that for today.
Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
