I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't think there's anything wrong with starting with this one. I actually think it's a gentler way to get used to his style and hopefully appreciate his other movies even more! Since you like Bill Murray, I hope you get to watch The Life Aquatic at some point. My favorite Wes Anderson Movie! :)

Don't worry, I don't think you're going to be let down after starting with this one. Fantastic Mr. Fox I think is still my favorite of his.

Yes, to the question about models. Anderson blends a lot of models, stop-motion animation and physical sets together. He does use some digital effects, especially in the newer films but most of it is in camera. I don’t think there’s any reason not to start with the Grand Budapest except that it’s kind of his Avengers, most of these actors have been in previous Anderson movies and he’s drawing on recurring themes and obsessions so the experience for longtime fans is different. This is not his “best” film it’s just his most successful. It’s worth noting that after the popularity of The Grand Budapest Hotel he didn’t lean in he just got more experimental and weird. Asteroid City is basically perfect but just because of the nature of the story is never going to have as wide an appeal.

You definitely should watch more Wes Anderson movies! Some of his more recent ones are still good, just not-as-good as his earlier ones. But "Fantastic Mr. Fox", "the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou", and "The Royal Tenenbaums" are must-watches still (I also really like "the Darjeeling Limited", but it's more divisive among the fans, I think)

I've always liked Wes Anderson's cinematography style ever since I was first introduced to him via "The Royal Tenenbaums". I've noticed he seems to approach his films like creating a storybook, where every frame is reminiscent of those pages. It's such a lovely style!

Wes Anderson is one of my favorites. I love Moonrise Kingdom and his recents Phoenician Scheme and Asteroid City as well as the more revered classics Life Aquatic and Fantastic Mr Fox. Isle of Dogs is also wonderful. Royal Tenenbaums is probably my least liked but it's still enjoyable

I wouldn’t worry too much about having started with the “best” Anderson movie. I think everyone has a different favorite. I like this one a lot but enjoyed both The Royal Tenenbaums and The Darjeeling Limited a bit more (though I haven’t seen them in a while and should rewatch them).
