Love rewatching this show with you so much. Currently wiping tears from my eyes. Poor Stark having to feel out Fern, the kind of person who gets grumpy at the drop of the hat and also is not worldly and experienced enough to fully understand people, so she will assume the worst thoughts in people like Stark. In fact, not understanding people is one of the main themes of this series. Frieren not understanding Himmel. Fern not understanding Stark. Stark not understanding Eisen or even himself. But it all feels very real to me. I love it.

Yes watching this a second time, I didn't expect to get emotional during the episode. Definitely tugs the heart strings. As for Fern not wanting Stark not to carry Frieren, I think it was because he was making a groping motion when asking to hand her over. At least Fern looked at it that way!

remember Fern was raised by Heiter a Priest she's very innocent/virtues, one of the reasons she acts overly and unreasonably modest/prude.. and yeah this is one of the best episodes but i just love Frieren in general its just a masterpiece
