Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I was never a big fan of the first opening song, but I really love the second one. As for the end song, if you find the full version, you'll notice that it's actually kind of like two verses, they used the first half for the first half of the season, and the second half for the second half of the season.

Ah, new opening and closing because in Japan it's considered the 2nd part of the season (called a cour in anime). And a new story arc in starting next episode so SUPER excited and looking forward to your reactions for that!

Yeah, generally in anime a season will be either one cour (12-13 eps) or two cours (generally 24-25). And intros change normally when a cour changes. When you're new to anime it might be a little surprising, but it's one of my favourite things about anime. I love that they change the intro constantly. Because in my mind, the old song and visuals are always available to watch when I want to, but getting something fresh gives me something new to love. And on top of that it allows the song and visuals to change to fit the current tone of the arcs that are happening. Embrace it! It's a wonderful thing. I absolute adore the second opening song of Frieren, especially when the chorus kicks in. Anyway, great episode as always. Sick Fern is so adorable.

Always expect Anime Openings and Ending songs to change frequently. They are usually dependent of how long a season is. Some will change Opening and Endings once every 12 or 15 episodes, if stories are broken down into small arcs they will have frequent changes. Some don't change until 20+ episodes.

I don’t know how to feel I wasn’t expecting a new intro! It’s good but I love the original!! I’m sure it will grow on me. This episode was so cute I love everyone’s relationship!!

Not a big fan of the new intro, still getting used to the song. And it's kinda weird that they changed it for this episode because it does not feel like the start of a new season, not to mention that the old intro has at least one character we haven't met yet and this new intro features a bunch of new characters none of which appear in this episode. I do like the animation in the outro though.
