I don't know if this is the case or not, but Frieren once said that magic that mages cannot recognize are known as curses. And she just used a spell that Fern could not recognize as magic.

Howie

Awesome episode and reaction. Yeah, it's exactly as you stated, Fern forced Frieren's replica to use a spell during the battle with the Demon King. High praise indeed! And I think it's the height of magic because Frieren was able to cast such a powerful spell without sensing any mana or spells being used.

Andy

Denken said a couple of episodes ago that no mage in the world can hide their mana while casting a spell, it is completely impossible. But Frieren's replica just did that, and Frieren basically admitted this was a secret technique she had to use in order to defeat the Demon King

Yeah the Frieren replica was missing both its arms and still able to unleash an undetectable attack spell slamming Fern into that wall. Damn i love this show!

That's not quite what I got from it. Curses are recognisable as magic, it's just that mages don't yet understand how it works, the principles behind it, etc. It's the difference between science and paranormal phenomena in our world. What Frieren did, from what I understand, is conceal her mana completely while casting a spell, which in the fiction of the world is supposed to be impossible.

I loved the scene with Sense and Übel so much! She’s such a terrifying character because of what she’s capable of, but she’s so interesting as well!
