Basically, the embryo splits twice and goes into stasis and can survive for up to 7 years.

The way I understood it, it's a bit like what Moya had with Talyn (not exactly, but close enough): Aeryn became pregnant with someone during her service, and the pregnancy was just automatically paused. So I think it's her baby, not a random implanted embryo, but I might be wrong :)

Yep. Pilot voted Aeryn, Neranti voted "The Divine Eternal", Sikozu voted Scorpy, Rygel voted for himself, and John, Aeryn, D'Argo, and Chiana all voted D'Argo.

The baby is absolutely from natural acts - it's just that female Peaeckeepers are bioengineered such that if they conceive the embryo immediately enters a kind of stasis. It does require the intervention of a doctor to "release" the pregnancy to allow it to come to term, and a DNA test to confirm the parentage - but both of those are readily available to Peacekeepers. It's far less convenient for Aeryn because she's not a Peacekeeper anymore, and can't just take an elevator to see the doc. I figure Aeryn told Chi because it was "girl talk" and she only met Sikozu in the previous episode so they don't have that level of bond yet, and Neranti doesn't seem to be capable of holding a conversation most of the time. Aeryn does have a special bond with Pilot, but he is also more alien than most of the aliens on the show, so he might have difficulty responding to her in the way she needed. And that closing scene - oof. Ben and Claudia both brought it there.

I always head cannoned that dargo didnt vote for himself, and it makes sense that pilot voted for aeryn so that only leaves rygel to vote for dargo and dargo to vote for rygel. its kind of the thing for rygel to do, he tends to do something unexpected like that often, and dargo saw rygel actually caring and taking responsibility for the plant

I always figured that if Dargo didn't vote for himself, then he voted for Aeryn. And that would leave pilot to be the other vote for Dargo.
