A Muppet Christmas Carol FULL LENGTH Movie Reaction

Michael Caine acting his heart out like this is the most serious Shakespearian production on Earth is what makes this film so amazing.

Lovely film. Michael Caine can make you laugh or make you cry, there's no in-between. The man's brilliant. I have three Christmas movies that I must watch every year. Even if all else fails and I don't get to do any others, there's three I will make time for: Love Actually, Happiest Season, and Last Christmas. And if I can, Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol. Any additional watches are lovely bonuses!

Scrooge with Alec Guinness as Marley is probably my favourite Christmas carol film (Muppets is amazing though) My favourite Xmas film is technically not a film and is in fact Terry Pratchetts HogFather which is a two part series they did on the BBC and I love it!

Ok, this was probably a better choice over Kiss Kiss Bang Bang... we will save that one for later. I loved how much Michael Caine seemed to embrace his interactions with the Muppets like they were anyone else... now I think I need to jump over to Tim Curry in the other Muppet literary classic. Yes, the Gonzo and Rizzo pairing was inspired.

A good excuse for a Farscape plug at the beginning because of the Muppets :)

It's still just as good as I remember it to be. I remember being too scared to watch the part with the door knob, and the Ghost of Christmas Future showing up in the way they did. I've watched many versions of A Christmas Carol, but this is always my favorite version. While I was watching this I was thinking about The Muppet's Treasure Island, which is another great Disney classic. I will agree Die Hard is a Christmas movie, despite how many people will claim it to not be. It was released on Christmas, or the events takes place on Christmas or day before.

It's definitely a lovely version of A Christmas Carol so I still watched it again in watch-along form with you and I too only watched it for the first time a few years back...maybe less than a decade ago? 🤷‍♂️ Regardless, my favorite version is definitely me with rose tinted nostalgia glasses because it's Mickey's Christmas Carol you can also find on Disney+ and is only 27 minutes for the story without all the music obviously 😅 that was always my favorite growing up.

I LOVE this movie. I'm a little younger than you (still cannot believe you're 45), so I saw this in the theater as a little kid in 1992 and loved it then, and loved it on when we watched it on TV a few times in following years. It didn't become a tradition to watch it every year at Christmas for my family, and I think like you said I felt like I was too old for the Muppets when I was 12 or so. I started to really appreciate the Muppets again as an older teen, but I don't think I watched this movie all the way through again until I was like 30 watching with in-laws who hadn't grown up with it at all. This is both the best Muppets movie and the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol, IMO. Michael Caine gives everything in this role, maybe the best performance of his storied career, but it's amazing that he can do that and it still completely works with all the Muppet silliness.

The last ghost is always most important for making sure Scrooge maintains a new attitude by seeing what happens if he doesn't. Redemption is easy to slip from.

Scrooge is the one I imagine rich capitalists being like... and I love how it critiques capitalism ("A Bugs Life" does that as well, while being also pretty Marxist and show the class struggle ^^)

I DIdnt have to think vEry HARD to come up with your favorite Christmas movie
