This is a pretty heavy episode. It's hard to tell what's happening sometimes in all the dark chaos with flashes of gunfire. Took me a re-watch to realize what happened. Right when Maine was about to slip into cyberpsychosis she rushed to inject him with the meds to bring him back, and he came back... just in time to see her die right in front of him. That, of course, pushed him right over the edge. Though I'm honestly surprised how present he was talking to David, he couldn't even see him right, just as a little black blob. The sight of him covered in blood after Dorio died, asking that one cop if this was his fault... night mare inducing. Maine and Dorio give the best big bro big sis energy. I'm glad you're a fan of Rebecca, she's definitely a fan favorite, and she earns it. More on that later! :D

I guess this is a good time to explain cyberpsychosis a bit, since this is information that's fairly obscure even within the game. Cyberpsychosis is basically an alienation of oneself due to cyberware changing too much of you. The more augmented you become, the less human you feel until you eventually lose touch with yourself and start to lose your mind and hallucinate. People's tolerance for how much is too much is different and people with less empathy are notably less suspectible to cyberpsychosis. Adam Smasher is notable for being almost completely chrome at this point, yet being "sane." But then again, his empathy stat in the table-top game is listed as "N/A." Other circumstances can make it worse or better. Edgerunners notably fall into cyberpsychosis more often than normal because their line of work is pretty grim. The strongest treatment for cyberpsychosis is therapy and something that anchors you in your humanity, which is most often strong, loving and supportive relationships. Having somebody around to love and share your life with makes us all feel more human.

I don't think Lucy was having cyberpsychosis issues when her hands shake. She was talking about Arasaka always watching. And if you remember in the 2nd episode when she's in the tram with David she said she was only targeting Arasaka suits. No spoilers but there are answers waiting for you. Love your insights and theory crafting though.

One of the best episodes in the series for sure - heavy stuff Faraday is a fixer - which means he's the middleman between paying clients and the people who get shady stuff done. He himself does not directly work for a corporation, although he may be indirectly tied to one if he does a lot of work for them. Think of him as a contractor who finds other contractors.

Damn this show is just like the game.
