So pumped to be in my favorite season of the show!

Alkaris

Season 7 will be the most enjoyable season yet. It was so close to being "a dream" but no. xD "Run you clever boy ...and remember" feels like it's going to be a running catch phrase. Also if you haven't watched the mini prequel shorts, you get a little more context about the episodes, not necessarily react-worthy because they are so short, but there's a who compilation list on YouTube.

Oh I was wondering how you'd avoid spoilers with the Amazon thumbnails. :) I loved this episode, even with the surprise split at the beginning. Oswin would have made a great companion, just like Kylie Minogue's character Astrid Peth from Voyage of the Damned.

Dani

oh this is definitely up there as one of my favorite dalek episodes

dean worrall

there's a mini-episode that goes after the Christmas special that explains what happened between then and the start of this series..

James Fleischman

It was so exciting watching this season for the first time and still having 11, Amy and Rory and hopefully more River

You didn't mention it in the reaction but you have actually seen the actress who played Oswin, Jenna Coleman, in something before. She played Johanna Constantine in the Sandman!

Nathaniel Castle

Jenna Coleman is definitely one of those crushes I have never really shaken off.

This is genuinely great episode, wonderful tear jerker with the “happy” couple Oswin is brilliant and her interactions with the doctor and Rory make me smile everytime. We have milk men over in the uk as well although our deliveries are made on Milk floats, well at least they used to be, no idea if they still are

Ash Davis

Oswin will always be one of the great would-be companions! “Run you clever boy, and remember!” Gives me chills every time!

John

I love Oswin. Such a great character that's immediately likeable. Jenna Coleman is a brilliant talent. She was like Sally Sparrow - immediately likeable and fantastic companion vibes. Still a little disappointed Sally didn't become a companion after meeting the Doctor.

John

"The Chin and The Nose. " Reminds me of The Impossible Astronaut when the Doctor introduced the group as "Legs, the Nose, and Mrs. Robinson."

Martin

Love this episode, always good to see them try new ways of showing old foes and liked this version, cracking season opener. Oswin was a fantastic character and a great twist, now you know the ending you can go back and watch all her scenes and see all the clues to who she really was, classic Moffett with his hidden in plain sight clues. The conversation after is very well done and surprisingly emotional considering it's from a Dalek! There was a minisode pre this episode which gives a heads up on their being trouble in their relationship but it is understandable without this how it kinda comes outta nowhere, happy it gets resolved by the end.

Peter Powis

yes! Sally Sparrow was so great! Of course it helps that Carey Mulligan is my favourite actress! Really needed a spin off series with Sally Sparrow. Wondering if her character has appeared in any of the Doctor Who novels...

I remember watching this the first time and being annoyed that Moffat had split Amy and Rory up just to get them back together by the end of the episode. I'm much more ok with it now, and just enjoy the emotional ride. I especially like the scene where Amy sees the Daleks as people. This is an episode that's better on a rewatch, because its easier to pick up the clues to Oswin's tragic fate when you know about it. At the end of the last season The Doctor said he wanted to disappear; he successfully faked his death, and now the Daleks don't even know who he is. Talk about disappearing.

There's a 5-part sequence of scenes called "Pond Life" which aired (or went on YouTube?) before this episode was first aired. They show a little of the deterioration of Amy and Rory's relationship so the opening scene of "Asylum" isn't quite so shocking. I'm not sure I'm too crazy about another will-their-relationship-survive story this late in the game for them, but at least it gets resolved here.

Brian

And in the beginning scene of Captain America: The First Avenger when Bucky and Steve double date at the fair and see Howard Stark.

I just say want to say (Not really much of a spoiler). Next week you get an episode that is what you once requested. As soon as you said something, I was thinking "Just wait until Season 7!"

Ooooh…I’ve been waiting…we’re starting to get into the seasons I really love for Doctor Who. Moffatt can make such amazing characters in such a short time, and create such emotion for a breakup we never saw and fix it so fast! Jenna Coleman is so great, and I felt like she channeled Oswin years later as Lady Constantine in The Sandman! (She’s also great in another BBC role, as Queen Victoria). I’m going to hop onto the Tardis for this season, and getting into what’s to come, because this is the stuff that can make me cry. Just seeing Oswin curled up against the wall crying when she realizes it…oof. Yes, Oswin, we will remember!
