The twist was never Egg's identity, the twist was how this show was never a fun, light hearted low stakes show.

Ser Arlan’s squire had just passed in the battle. And just a tidbit, maekar did truly love baelor. I do not think maekar intended to kill baelor. Baelors son valarr is next in line now. Maekar and aerion are way way way down the line. They weren’t thinking to kill baelor to get closer to the being the king. The current king is very very old and baelor was known to soon be king. And everybody knew how good of a person he is and how’d he make a great king. Him dying is a huge deal considering this was just a small birthday party/tournament they were attending and it turned out to be one of the most heartbreaking tragic events for the targaryens.

Yeah it probably was the Redgrass Field we saw there, since that was the last battle of the Blackfyre Rebellion, and we vaguely know that the Redgrass was "near King's Landing". Dunk implies as much when he says that the war is now over. Also, Roger's grave looked pretty fresh.

As of now (not knowing the novels), I was under the impression that Ser Arlan didn't knight Dunk, but it was never clearly stated, I think...🤔 I did not expect Baelor to die and not at all in this tragic but unfortunately typical GOT fashion...🙈 I interpreted that moment more as Dunk wishing he would've been knighted for real, too...🤔 Well, that escalated quickly...🙈 This battle reached a level of intensity I've last seen in the "Battle of the Bastards", but not even then it felt so dirty, so grimy and so real as this duel in the mud. I felt every blow as if it hit me, too. They did a great job showing the difference between a trained fighter and an inexperted. In terms of swordfighting or jousting Dunk didn't stand a chance, but he has other, more important qualities. He has stamina, he is way stronger than his opponent and he is much taller. After the intitial contact it quickly became clear that not the most skilled (skill means shit when you're tumbling through mud), but the most determined fighter would win and that was - without a doubt - Dunk. The pressure of the helmet kept Baelor alive for a few minutes. A friend of mine who was a paramedic saw something similar with a biker after a motorcycle accident when they took the bikers helmet off...🤢😨🙈 Rafe was a child of Fleabottom, she never knew another way to stay alive. You either do whatever it takes or you're dead. It is easy to condemn someone when your belly is full and you have a roof over your head. I think Dunk blamed himself at least partly for Rafes death, since he felt he held her back from running away from Fleabottom until it was too late. That's why he got so furious when Tanselle was attacked, it brought his trauma back. He took Rafes last words to heart though: "You want a family - go out and find yourself a family!" He went out and followed Ser Arlan until he became his family...😥 So the dream came true - a dead dragon who dominated the meadow and Ser Duncan alive. To think, I was so happy to NOT get another dark and brutal GOT story...😅🙈 But right now it still is a story told consequently from the perspective of the small folk. Still, it was so good and I can't wait for the final episode of this season...😍

I figured Baelor was going to die while rewatching the last episode. Of the four Targaryens we don't really care about Maekar and Daeron dying and Aerion seems too obvious to need a prophecy. Plus we have the soothsayer's prophecy that Egg will be king one day. And for that to happen we will unfortunately have to start pruning the family tree, so Baelor became the prime candidate for the dragon from Daeron's dream.
