Any plans on watching 'An Adventure in Space and Time'? It's quite an entertaining and sweet movie about the creation of Doctor Who, and came out around the time of this season's airing to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary. Although I don't know if you can access it outside the UK :/

Michael French

Not to mention that the actress that plays Emma in this episode is also the same that plays Verity Lambert (the very first Producer of Doctor Who and the first Female Producer at the BBC) some fans have been campaigning for her to watch it for a while and hopefully she goes for it

Jeremy B

Nathanael’s giving Angela a full list of the 50th anniversary material that’s available to watch.

Merkavar

Make sure she watches the original version, not the updated one.

There's something very Mike Flanagan about this episode, down to both this and Haunting of Bly Manor referencing "every love story is a ghost story". And with Flanagan being a Doctor Who fan, I wouldn't be surprised if he took some inspiration from this episode. I like Neil Cross's writing on this season (he also did Rings of Akhaten!) Both episodes have such an abundance of cool concepts and spectacle.

The suit the Doctor wore to go to all those times is the same suit he wore in "The Impossible Planet/Satan's Pit", when the Doctor and Rose we're on a planet orbiting the Black Hole, the Episode called "42", when The Doctor absorbed the Suns power into himself almost causing himself to burn up and his eyes lit up, "The Waters of Mars", AND I'm not going to spoil anything else. The Doctor going to the Year 6 Billion as the Sun turning into a RED Giant as Earth burns could be the same time as both Rose and the 9th Doctor on the Space Station before the Earth is blown up? Loads of connections.

I think the TARDIS was able to not get its power drained because it did a drive-by rather than landing in the pocket dimension, which is why they had to jump onto it both times. Also, I'm very happy when no one dies, and the Monster ended up just needing rescuing too! I had to look up Dougray Scott (Alec) because I knew I've seen him before, and yeah, he was in Hemlock Grove and Batwoman.

I think it was a good ending, it was a happy ending I don’t know why you didn’t like it. I mean I imagine the doctor took them to a planet where they could live happily, I’m a bit confused. Also are you ok health wise? Every other time I see you in a reaction you are recovering from a cold or you have a cold. Please take care of yourself.

From this point on the Tardis goes from be antagistic to being a huge troll. The 'Night in the Tardis' minisode is funny.

James Fleischman

I always love the TARDIS showing a bit of personality. And yes we were all confused about Clara.

Ash Davis

Neil Cross also wrote Rings of Akhaten. And then he never wrote for the show ever again 😭😭😭 his episodes were the best guest writer scripts of this series! I hope he comes back one day… he would make a GREAT showrunner

Paulo

Oh ok.

I love this episode to bits; it's probably my favourite from this run of episodes. The ending does seem a bit rushed with the "we'll just to the same thing again" but I concede that to the limited length of the episode - there isn't anything I can think of to cut from earlier in the episode to expand the final rescue and drop off sequence, and they just ran out of time (no pun intended.). I think we're supposed to assume the being from the house was in the TARDIS when they flew back in for the pickup, and I guess having survived it once increased confidence in doing it again. The last time I remember The TARDIS not liking someone was Captain Jack back at the end of season 3. Jack wasn't a paradox; The Doctor described him as "an impossible thing." And he calls Clara "The impossible girl." But I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

Joe Cleveland

I think that if everything in an episode of Doctor Who actually made sense then it wouldn't be an episode of Doctor Who, right?

Brian

And Mission Impossible 2 as the villain! And he was the original actor picked to play Wolverine in the original X-Men movie but things happened and he couldn’t do it and that brought in Hugh Jackman.

Nicholas Sulikowski

This is just me, but I got a kind of Ed and Lorraine Warren vibe from the two ghost hunters in this episode. Especially since Emma is sensitive to such phenomena just like Lorraine claimed to be.

funnylilgalreacts

I didn’t wanna say it but yup yup yup yup yup! That’s why I was talking about the cold and possibly being a demon!

Carl Wilson

I don't think we need to see it - we get what's going to happen. It's old fashioned filmmaking: no denouements, story's over, move on!

Carl Wilson

I didn't remember what was going to happen, and for a bit I thought Clara was going to take the headband from Emma and do the last step to get the Doctor out of the pocket universe, because they seemed so similar. Not that Clara is psychic, but her own empathy for Emma felt nearly as powerful.
