There were differences, of course. Changes. Things that were... a little off. But let me tell you, after 2 years and very little hope that we'd actually get this mini-series, the shot of Moya going into starburst that first time filled my heart with such joy. It was like coming home. Just like you said. 2 years back then was an eternity. It wasn't like now where we have to regularly wait a year or two between regular seasons of a show (looking at you Severance). After the first year, hope was definitely dwindling, despite the efforts of fans and sites like savefarscape.com. Getting this mini-series, we were willing to overlook just about anything, as long as it was Farscape again, and as long as it was done right and was good. And they delivered.

there are a couple actors who returned in different roles, as you noticed. yep, that’s the nurse (vreena) on the scarran freighter that was holding aeryn. that same actress, Sandy Gore, was also the judge on litagara for zhaan’s trial. the pk grand chancellor was one of the zenetan pirates from the season 2 finale, the one who betrayed our crew and that chiana killed by shooting his dick, apparently. someone who notably did *not* return was the actor who originally played jothee. he had some…legal…troubles. during the recap john gives he says “for the 89th time,” a reference to the 88 episodes of the regular show.

That's awesome! Ha. I've watched Farscape and The Peacekeeper Wars more times than I count, and I never caught the "for the 89th time" reference.

After the show was cancelled, they lost a lot of the sound settings they used for Pilot's voice and their recreation wasn't perfect, so Pilot sounds very different from before. As far as I know for Chiana, it's just a matter of the actress returning to the role after years away and trying to recreate her performance. It's a bit distracting on first watch (I kept wondering if there was a plot reason for it) but once you get used to it, it stops being an issue.

Angela please tell me you have seen Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. I got a Dr. Strangelove in the War Room vibe from Harvey. I am so happy you love Harvey so much. When I first watched this show he just annoyed me, with your take on him I have grown to see him in a new light thank you.

Garrick Smalley

Absolutely I was beginning to give up hope.

Interesting about the sound settings. They must have just scrapped it. But, Peacekeeper Wars was released in 2004 that next year, only a few months after S5 would have aired if it wasn't cancelled, so the acting choice didn't really make much sense to me either.

Kristian

The peacekeepers came from humans!

This absolutely feels like a boiled down, concentrated version of the plan for season 5, just speedrunning the major plot points. One note, D'Argo's ship is so much more advanced than the transport pods, John's module, and even Prowlers like Aeryn's that we forget it's an antique. Pilot had to whip up some custom translator microbes with Ancient Luxan for D'Argo to be able to control it. So it shouldn't be a surprise that the ship coming to D'Argo and Chiana's rescue is more advanced, but it still kind of is. And yeah, there's stuff that's different, production-wise. Doesn't matter; had Farscape.

Nerd's Gold

It seems like she didn't catch that.

Malamute

Yummy Yum yum yum! Gobble gobble gobble it up. I still cant believe we actually got this miniseries. Enjoy Part 2!

WinterScape

Farscape fan and Malamute—you’re my people!

Bad Timing aired in March 2003, The Peacekeeper Wars came out in October 2004. Just over a year and a half.

When I first watched it, I thought it was a really cool way to tie it all together and close the loop on that mystery of how they were so similar. 20,000+ years ago aliens came to earth and abducted humans 🛸 lol thank you for watching this show. it's been fun!
