Wallachia is a historical region in southern Romania bounded by the Danube River and the Carpathian Mountains.

Yeah, these episodes are short. And we had only FOUR of extremely short episodes back in the day as a whole season!! Had to wait for a year to get going further. P.S. this series is generally adapting Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (1989) , so, I wouldn't say that NES graphics could be considered super gore. And it is a nice platformer )

Honestly, I've never seen any Castlevania properties outside of this that are quite so graphic. Even "modern" titles like Lords of Shadow and its sequel weren't particularly gory. As a side note, Angela would love Berserk if she's loving worlds like Castlevania's.

Wallachia is not a fictional place. It is a principality of Romania. And it is not just principality... it is THE principality of Romania. Wallachia is where the Romanian capital is found, Bucharest. A principality is in many ways like a US state.

Interesting (non-spoiler) fact: There's two dwarves in this show! Trevor is voiced by Richard Armitage, who played Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the Company of Thorin, in the film series, The Hobbit. James McTavish voices Dracula. James McTavish played Dwalin, one of the dwarves in Thorin's Company.
