Carmilla is my favourite vampire, focused, conniving and stunning.

Ghost Mom

Castlevania loves to use existing vampires and monsters in fiction to tell its stories, so I have a fun fact about Carmilla in case you weren't aware. Carmilla was a novella written by Sheridan Le Fanu in 1872 about a sapphic vampire who preyed on girls. At the time it was meant to demonize gay women, but funnily enough, Carmilla turned into a sapphic icon in the modern day. The story actually predates Bram Stoker's Dracula by 25 years and some believe it served as one of the inspirations Bram Stoker used for Dracula, yet Carmilla never really hit the mainstream like Dracula did. That said there have still been many adaptions of Carmilla over the last century and a half, including the one here in this show.

She is a recurring monster in many of the Castlevania games as well even got to be the main villain in one

Lazzy

She's even in the new one!

I love Sypha's fighting style. She's basically what you'd get if Avatar was rated R and Aang or Korra had absolutely no chill.

My take on Hector thus far is that he is simply sociopathic. Peoplle can have the genetic predisposition to sociopathy, but never have it expressed if they are raised in caring and nurturing environments. This does not describe Hector's experiences. I think he simply has no empathy for anyone. I feel like Dracula saw this trait in Hector, and liked it. And somehow gained Hector's trust and loyalty. I believe that his telling Dracula about the suffering way, or the quick end way was simply him offering two options to his master, and he didn't care himself one way or the other. I am watching this all for the first time, so my hypothesis may be proven or disproven in time.

Organized religions that indoctrinate their following, and are adamant that their understanding is the understanding of whichever notions of higher power(s) they worship. Thusly anyone else claiming that they knew better (whether through evidence, thought experiment, or rival spiritual/religious beliefs) would always treat the challenging set of understandings as antagonistic. This has been the case for humans since civilization began. It has always simply been the way things are. It has only been recently, relative to the history of humanity, that evidence-based understanding has achieved wide-spread acceptance. Still, emphatically, not universal acceptance.

Not going into spoilers but there will be more background on forgemasters recruitment.

So, something close to P'Li's fight but used on every enemy and in graphic detail?

Well, "Belmont's curse" is a direct continuation of Castlevania III and "Curse of Darkness". Hope that Angela won't be playing (if she is even consider playing) this game. While there are some differences between games and Netflix adaptation, even "Belmont's Curse" synopsis will spoil all character's fate: who lives, who dies etc.
