Lola Felicia

I've been refreshing all morning waiting for this :) :) :)

SbE

And so it begins....

MaxValPlatt

So, Londo definitely now owe to "space mafia". He shouldn't had waste time before, and watch "The Godfather" (together with Garibaldi), then he would know about gifts from mafia and offers that one can not refuse :)

Lola Felicia

51:10 lmao... "don't end there... dont end there" *it ends there, Angela puts on her best rage face* lol

Texas Anla'Shok

Nothing is the same anymore. Boy, howdy…

Way back when B5 was first shown in the UK, for some reason they only broadcast The Gathering *after* season one had aired. Some of my friends and I had become deeply obsessed with the show, and after the pilot had eventually aired another member of our D&D group casually mentioned that he had watched it, enjoyed it, and asked if we could tell him what happened in the first season. We were all still hyped from the finale so were definitely not at our most articulate as we explained about Delenn, the assassination, the Shadows and tried to summarise all the context and backstory that had led up to those events.

Dylan Humphries

So. Now that we've stretched and warmed up, things can really get moving.

Paul Hess

You have forgotten something ...

Harry S

You are NOT messing up people's names. You called Sinclair, Michael, and his real name is Michael Ohare. You called his girlfriend Carolyn which was his girlfriend in The gathering. You got the name right, just your timming is off.

Imzadi

I fear with the intro to season 2 you not just only have to look away but also have to mute it.

Bubba Fett

I was excited watching the whole episode to see that reaction in the last few minutes. Was not disappointed 🤣

Bubba Fett

This has always been one of my favorite season finales. Most cliffhangers give you a more narrow "will he survive or not", this one though, just leaves you with the leo meme "WTF is going on here". Imagining having to wait 4 months to find out what now. Jealous!!!

Mark Ten

Err, that Londo thingee from last week is a sexual organ. Centaris have 6 of them (not sure how many actually cheat at cards). Nuff said?

Kieran Elliott

I've really appreciated Sinclair way more in rewatching this than I did at the time.

Wild_Lee_Coyote

One of the things unique about Babylon 5 is the season finales. Some don’t feel like the season is over. Then there are some episodes that are season finales in the middle of a season. The nice thing is Angela doesn’t have to wait months to get the next season started.

John

Remember, as you get answers, that JMS knew these answers when he was writing. He set up the questions already knowing what the answers were going to be. Some/Many shows don't know the answers to their questions before they ask them, and have to try and make up answers along the way, if they bother to answer the questions at all. Of course, that you get serialized storytelling at all in television is down to Babylon 5. They weren't the first show to use serialized storytelling, but they were the first show to do it successfully, and prove that fans had the patience for storylines that took multiple seasons to resolve. So raise a glass to Babylon 5 when you think back on the other shows you've watched with coherent, ongoing storylines.

SbE

the guns they use, PPG's, don't have a stun setting. PPG's are used in space because they can't penetrate the hull.

James Davis-Mann

Also if you notice Delenn starts building that Chrysalis device way back when we first meet Mr Morden in Signs and Portents

Cody Thomas Sinclair

Interestingly, Laurel Takashima was originally going to be involved in the conspiracy and shoot Garibaldi in the back, but that changed when Tamlyn Tomita didn't stay on after The Gathering. I'm really glad JMS didn't give that storyline to Ivanova, but its a good example of how the show handles course correcting.

Garrick Smalley

I love how you whispered is he gonna propose?

Aron

How are there still people saying this? The spoiler on the S2 intro has been fixed. It's been fixed for years. Stop saying this.

John

If you're watching on Prime, I don't think there is any reason to not watch the credits. There was a major spoiler in the credits on an earlier release of the show, but Prime doesn't have it.

Garrick Smalley

You have questions I have answers... Picture Dr. River Song (born Melody Pond) saying Spoilers.

Stephen Collette

Remember, the fandom considers Season One to be the overall weakest.... it only gets better from here. The Kosh quote "and so it begins" is another one that you'll pack away and use for the rest of your life. ("moon-faced assissin of joy" is one of my favorite) The humans, psi corp, vorlons, narn, centauri, mimbari, and the new ones.....everyone has some loose threads coming out of this episode. Deep breath, mull it over, and buckle up as this rollercoaster has now reach the top of the first big hill.

John

Well, now that the warmup and preliminaries are done, we can start the show. Or as Kosh said, "And so it begins." When G'kar mentioned the humans first saying they wouldn't do it, I took that to mean he immediately knew they wouldn't have done it. Whether that's misplaced trust or not, who's to say? And now we have to wait two weeks for the next episode? That is cruel and unusual punishment! But, enjoy your Halloween weekend and we'll see you on the flip side. All of Season 1 has been the rollercoaster climbing that long first climb to the first big drop, and now that you've crested the first peak - the ride is off and running.

Literaltruth

Oh, I was wondering why people were saying that. I was trying to think why people could possibly be calling the credits to the door a spoiler. I don't want her to miss them - one of the best things about B5 is how the credits fit each season set up the tone and mission for that season.

Literaltruth

I've checked both the version on Amazon Prime and the ones they've uploaded to YouTube as well as my Blu-ray boxset. The spoiler people were warning you about in the credits for the first two episodes of S2 is definitely not in any currently available version of the show. You don't have to avoid looking at them.

Vexkun

"And so it begins." You got almost everything you wanted in this episode. :P On to the next season!! A PPG (an initialism for Phased Plasma Gun) is a type of weapon that fires a bolt of energized, super-heated helium sheathed in an electromagnetic field and propelled by an opposed magnetic field. On impact, the plasma bolt dissipates and discharges its thermal and kinetic energy. So not stun setting. :P Though a lower-level PPG shot will normally burn and cauterize a wound, leaving the target down but alive, a well-aimed and/or close-range PPG shot is easily capable of causing instant death; penetrating flesh, fusing bone and incinerating internal organs. Higher settings, on the other hand, will burn straight through an organic body, cause massive internal burns and trauma to the internal organs and even melt clothing right into the skin. Such high-powered, lethal shots are rarely used as it consumes more energy, reducing the number of shots between reloads and increasing the time between recharge cycles. I mean if we really want to go there. :P The short story. The outer reproductive organs of Centauri males consist of six tentacle-like genitals that extend out from the sides of the body and fold in over the chest when not in use. The males can stretch the tentacles out to several feet. Females have six narrow receptive orifices, three on either side of the base of the spine, just above the hips. The TTRPG book on the Centauri goes into way too much detail. :P

Tranquil_Gnome

If Kosh says Good Morning, it sounds ominous.

TricksterDaemon

You can have all the ambassadors in a room OR you can have no arguments.

Imzadi

No, I don't think I will. Because even the voice over is a spoiler.

Cei Stockport

G'kar mentioning Human's first (before dismissing them from the suspect list) is logical. After the Narn the season has shown the Earth Alliance as being the most expansionist power. (Just with their reach exceding their grasp.)

Roy Graham

Sweeeet. You finished the prologue! Oh 'Talia' now is it? Excellent! Glad you two are on a first name basis. The in-universe justification for how PPGs work is so a random blast doesn't puncture a ship's hull. Pretty much everybody everywhere wants to avoid that. G'kar's listing of the races that could've done it is a reference to the major galactic powers. Just like on the B5 council. The big ones are the ones who have a full vote. Humans, Minbari, Centauri and Narn. Plus the Vorlons who are more like observers. What happen to Delenn? Tune in next season to find out!

DoktorEvil

PROLOGUE DONE. Now the real story can begin.

Roy Graham

Woops! Forgot to include something. They've mentioned that Kosh is in a suit all the time. So him 'lifting his neck' was more akin to him taking off his helmet. So Delenn saw him uncovered and it convinced her to continue.

Thomas Schorsch

While Londo wants some revenge against G'Kar, go back to Londo's first meeting with Morden to understand what Londo really wants.

Cody Thomas Sinclair

We literally see Jack shooting Garibaldi, it’s not a spoiler to say it was originally going to be Laurel and it didn’t happen because she left the show.
