Technically the movie takes place right after the cowboy Andy episode, but the actual timeline placement doesn't matter as it takes place at some point when the whole crew is together and on Mars. Like the other episodes, it's a self-contained story that happens to be feature-length rather than a 20-something minute episode.

Ed and Ein leaving is just such a perfect scene. And that song. My god, it is so good. Out of all of the music in the show, this song is one of my top favorites. And that title card at the end hits me like a truck every time. The only thing I hate about this episode is that it always makes me crave hard boiled eggs. But I can’t have any because I’m allergic to the damn things. 😂

The end of this episode makes me tear up every time. This is probably the first tv series that made me cry when I was younger.

I would give so much for an eventual sequel series that follows a grown up Ed and her dog Zwei (a hypothetical descendant of Ein). Call that Cowgirl Funk.
