The music played in the fight with Draculas Generals is called Bloody Tears I personally consider it one of the best pieces of computer music and they incorporated it fantastically!

I hope that it's not a spoiler, but this show adapts two games in Castlevania series, so, consider next season as a new chapter of their story, adapting a second story from that age of Belmont family. Although it is a very loose adaptation - they threw away a whole companion from Castlevania III! Grant Danasty, the Rogue of their party, the one who was the weakest companion in the game (US version, at least), was omitted. Sypha had spells. Alucard had vampire abilities. Trevor ...well, he is main character, and at least whip is upgradeable. And Grant had to go stabby-stabby in close range with all monsters (he could throw his knife, but only in Japan version, afaik).

The big molten sphere that Dracula conjures is directly inspired by some of his attacks during boss fights in the games.

The best thing about this show, is that while all this happens before season 2 even reaches it's finale, there is still SOOOO much great stuff after this that continues to hit the same highs of this season.

Fun fact for ya, the song that plays during the fight with the war council is considered to be probably the most popular song from the game series called Bloody Tears. A truly fantastic piece of music that really embodies the dark fantasy aspect of Castlevania\

Now just imagine how much worse it would have gone if Dracula was at full power

They did a good job at showing just how powerful Dracula is. Belmont and his trio tore through an army of night creatures and vampire generals up this point, but a starved and depressed Dracula was able to swat them away like they were nothing. In the end, they didn't win, Dracula gave up when he realized he was about to kill his son.

I love Dracula knowing who Trevor is because he punched him in the face. Only a Belmont would punch Dracula.

Wait I'm confused. Which two games? Isn't it all Symphony of the Night?

Not just another episode. Two more full seasons! I love that they gave us that breath before the fight. I love that they used an orchestral version of Bloody Tears for the first fight. I love the fight choreo. I love how they showed the team working together seamlessly. I love that the music drops out right before they get to Alucard's room. Like the last Agni Kai I'm tickled to bits when a show chooses the right music for the emotion of the moment or take it away so you have to feel that impact just like the characters do. Such a masterfully crafted episode. I know that ending is coming every time and it still hits me just as hard. Graham McTavish BROUGHT it.

Nope. Symphony of Night is in year 1797 (after Rondo of Blood). Netflix's main story starts in 1476 with kind-of-adaptation of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse game (with flashback of Lisa's arrival in 1455 and her auto-da-fe in 1475), and, I suppose, will have "Curse of Darkness" storyline next. I think that that was a major point of critique of Netflix, that, despite Symphony of Night being the most popular game, they haven't adapted it (yet?). Castlevania:Nocturne is using "Rondo of Blood" characters though, so, maybe, if we are lucky, Neflix might get to Symphony of Night next.

Maia Brodsky

I think Dracula tossed the cloth through the mirror to test that its transmission properties were still working, which comes back around when he tosses Isaac through it in this episode.

Maia Brodsky

Oh yeah, I meant Castlevania III, not Symphony of the Night, my bad. And I always thought Grant was supposed to be represented by a certain season 4 character, but I just looked it up, and I guess the naming similarity was just a coincidence?!?! Like, what? 😂 I find that so hard to believe.
