Progress Report - October 28, 2025 (Patreon)

Hello, everyone!

Not too much to report this week. Building the scene for Sequence A ended up taking a lot longer than I expected it to, clocking in on the heavy side of 3 and a half days.

It ended up becoming a lot more elaborate of a scene than I had originally intended, actually being composed of two smaller scenes encased within a larger scene. I figured that, since this scene is going to be present in every episode, it is worth taking the time to do it right, and make it visually interesting.

I'm overall very pleased with how it came out, though I am still looking for some alternative wall texture. I won't lie, it gets tiring when the first question everyone asks about the scene is "are you making a Portal project?" Aperture's brutalist architecture was the best I could think of to fit the aesthetic I had in mind.

Though in practice, I suspect the scene will hardly even be seen at scale, and so I'm sure I am fretting over nothing of any real consequence.

I'm not quite finished with the lighting yet. While the diegetic lighting is getting us surprisingly close to the finish line - I'd say north of 90% - there are a few shots that still need some cinematic lighting. For example, this shot is a bit flat. I want to explore adding a light to the scene right, to light up that half of Mercy's face, add some travel across the shot.

But that should only take me half an evening to get tuned, and is what I intend to do tonight.

Once I'm finally happy with the lighting, I will move on to working on Narrative A. Conveniently, the first section of Narrative A takes place in this same scene (albeit in the space outside the Isolation Cube), so I won't need to build a new scene for all of that at least. The second section of Narrative A will require a new scene, and so it's just going to be a floating space in the void for now. And then the third section of Narrative A actually involves the office scene that was already built for Sequence C, meaning I can just directly use that scene as well.

Beyond Overbreed, I have decided to just formally pull the trigger on the Life is Strange Max-Stuck Micro project. I currently have the first 3 episodes fully blocked out, of a planned 8. Despite my best efforts to find another project, my mind just kept gravitating toward it - and toward the various other stories I have in mind for the larger LIS project.

Like, I genuinely have five or so different story Arcs in mind. There is the Marshpricefield project that this particular Arc spawned from obviously, but then I just have so much more. I am working to take all of my disparate Life is Strange ideas I've had over the past year or two, and roll them all into a single mega-project, with this Arc being the first installment of it.

So, uhh, I hope ya'll like lewd Life is Strange. Cuz there's a lot of it coming down the pipe.

I will try to break it up with other Micro projects, but we'll see how that fares. The fact that Milly is still AWOL pins down a lot of projects I have interest in. Corsair, Witcher, Dragon Age, Marie/Honoka, Miranda/Jack, Tina/Lisa. But we'll figure something out.

I have stopped bothering to email Milly about the Pharmmetra project. Once the lewd LIS Micro Arc is rolling out, I will email her again. But for now, I am just going to operate under the assumption that Pharmmetra is perpetually on ice. It's unfortunate, especially since I have a full 10-arc series roughly planned out for them, and it all predicates on the Mercy episode that's currently hung, but it is what it is. We carry on.
