Hello, everyone!

I am happy to report that I am cozily settled back into my apartment, and that I have been all too eager to jump right back into work. I didn't anticipate having much to report this week, having only gotten back home three days ago, but in those three days I've managed to get a lot of stuff done. So let's get right into it.

Family Health Update

Right off the top, since I am certainly at least some people are curious, I am very happy to report that my father's recovery has been simply exceptional.

It hasn't even been 3 full weeks yet, but looking at him getting around now, you would never suspect that he fractured his L1 and L2 disks in his back on New Years Day. He's up and walking around completely unassisted, is able to twist freely at the hip without issue, and is walking up and down stairs without even a thought. Hell, he just reflexively carried my PC tower down the garage stairs when helping me pack up to leave on Saturday morning - it wasn't until we got down to my truck that it dawned on us that he just carried a fully-loaded aluminum tower down the stairs.

I left this past weekend in full confidence that my father didn't need my assistance around the house, and that he was able to do anything and everything he'd need to do on his own.

Overbreed

I'm sure what most of all are most interested in hearing is an Overbreed update. And boy howdy do I have one to give you all.

I wasn't able to work on Overbreed at all during the four weeks I was with my folks, so to say I was chomping at the bit eager to work on it is an understatement. As a refresher, Overbreed is logically split into 6 components: Sequence A, Narrative A, Sequence B, Narrative B, Sequence C, Narrative C. When I left for the holidays, I had all three Narrative components blocked out, and Sequence A and Sequence C also wholly blocked out, leaving just Sequence B to be blocked out.

When I left, Sequence B was clocking in at just under 3 minutes. As of writing now, it is now clocking exactly one second over 6.5 minutes. Over the past 3 days, I managed to put together 3.5 minutes of new animation for it.

I won't lie when I say that I am extremely excited for Sequence B. It's hard to say if I am more excited about it than I am for Sequence C - I think they are on equal levels, for different reasons. Sequence C is just a helluva lotta fucking with a lot of dynamic shifts and lascivious playfulness.

But Sequence B is very... existential. If I were feeling particularly pretentious, I may even call it cerebral. The core of Sequence B is exploring Mercy's psyche, as she struggles with her traditional feminine sexuality being suddenly crowded by the masculine sexuality that comes with the territory of futanari experiment. Over the course of the Sequence, she goes from being confused by the parallel desires to be penetrated and to penetrate, to struggling to accommodate the two conflicting urges, to finally transcending beyond the components of her sexuality and embracing a gestalt whole.

The Sequence explores this with a narration voiced over various fantasy sequences that see her trading places between being penetrated and penetrating others, with the fantasies finally evolving into visuals of her penetration herself. The Sequence culminates in a Mercy selfcest oroboros, as she fully accepts the ramifications of what the Overbreed serum has done.

The whole thing is written to be a very "the spice is vital for space travel, the spice expands consciousness" sort of aesthetic. Whether or not I actually succeeded in that, others will have to judge upon its completion. But for what it's worth, I am personally extremely happy with it.

Life is Strange

Beyond Overbreed, I have also been working on putting together various ancillary materials for the Life is Strange lewd Micro Chapter that is currently in the shop. Including, chief among things, a name!

I have decided on the title LOVE AND DEGENERACY for the Lewd LIS series, with a simple chapter name of "Stuck" for the Micro Chapter that is due to release in the coming weeks. I contemplated names that are more structurally aligned to Life is Strange, such as Love Is Degenerate, but ultimately decided against them. I think the "is" qualifier is a bit too strong (and too narrow) for what I am going for. The "and" qualifier suggests that they are two related but not interlinked subjects - there is love, and there is degeneracy. And that certainly describes my plans for it.

As you can certainly tell by the gif at the top of this section, and may have noticed with the gif being used as the header for this post, it's all still work in progress. I almost have the series intro (what the post header is from) finished - it still needs detail animation, to light the Dana polaroid pose, and an audio pass.

In total, over the past few days, I've put together 8 different teasers: the series intro, the chapter intro, and a teaser for each of the six individual episodes. I've also put together a plan for structuring everything, as well as a release plan for it all.

Off the top, the series intro never exists in isolation - it is always paired with a chapter intro. Every chapter always starts with the same series intro, and then has an individualized intro for that specific chapter. This chapter intro starts by seting up the core focus of the chapter - so Max being unable to cum in chapter 1, Kate wanting to form a polycule with Chloe and Max in chapter 2, killing time with Brooke as Chloe's phone drive is cloned in chapter 3, Max trying to get ahold of Juliet in chapter 4, etc. It then plays brief snippets of the core animation sequences in each of the episodes, before ending on a bit of lynchpin dialogue. It then finally reveals the release schedule for each episode.

And then each individual episode's teaser is the first 30-seconds of the episode, with a title-card like the gif for this section, followed by an additional 15 seconds of audio over a "watch for free now, watch next episode on patreon" call-to-action card.

For the release plan, what I have decided I am going to do, is I am going to post the chapter teaser as an "episode 0" as far as the release schedule is concerned. Which is to say, When the chapter teaser is posted publicly, the early-access version of episode 1 will go live immediately on Patreon for early-access. Then two weeks later, the first episode will be released to the public, with episode 2 releasing on early-access. Two weeks later, episode 2 goes public and 3 goes early-access, so on and so far.

In a mirror of the historic Patreon release tiers, the 2160p tier, which for the Micro Chapters is an unpolished release of the whole Chapter, will coincide with the public release. Meaning that all of the episodes won't become available to 2160p patrons until episode 1 is released to the public, with the early-access to episode 1 standing alone for those first two weeks.

Roamer, Wanderer, Nomad, Vagabond

And then as a final sort of surprise, I also spent some time over the past few days (actually my last few days with my folks) returning my attention to my original character Suki, and her planned series Roamer Wanderer Nomad Vagabond.

You all may or may not remember Suki from many, many months ago. After I had revealed her then, I got some feedback of her tattoos being "campy", which was not at all what I wanted. So I decided to put my work on her on the shelf until I could find an artist willing to take a swing at her tattoos.

Months passed with me being unable to find an artist willing to tackle her tattoos. Finally, last week, I decided to take another swing at them myself. During the many months interim, I have been idly contemplating what to do about her tattoos. The strategy I finally came up with was "less but bigger." So rather than littering her body with a dozen or two small tattoos, I instead elected to wrap her body in 5 massive tattoos, as well as a handful of smaller tattoos.

Every tattoo has a specific meaning and a very intentional placement on her body, as well as a time and place as to when and where she got it. In a very real way, they are a catalogue of her life.

Her right side is covered with older, faded, angry tattoos. Dragons. Barbed wire. Vulgar text and proud declarations. A sleeve of Nordic runes. And a small, hidden tattoo of a raven on her ankle - her very first tattoo, gotten at the age of 16 after she forged her mom's signature to convince the artist that she had permission to get it, itself a microcosm of her complicated history with responsibility in her youth.

Her left side, by contrast, is covered with newer and overall more optimistic tattoos: A sprawling tree-root system that crawls up her arm to a canopy on her neck, and a trail of stars shooting across her leg, unbounded and undeterred. These tattoos are new and are fresh, and represent a new chapter in Suki's life - one where she isn't running away from her life anymore. This is the chapter of her life that her series takes place in, where she is looking for catharsis and meaning in a cold and meaningless world.

Compared to the first draft of her tattoos, I am extremely happy with how her ink came out this time around. I think I'm willing to pull the trigger on it and work on getting her into Source.

Beyond her ink, I also started putting together her outfit, which is an extension of her personality much like her tattoos are.

The outfit is predominantly built off Josie Rizal's "Rider" outfit from Tekken 7, with a handful of other pieces, as well as some entirely unique pieces I modeled by hand specifically for Suki. I still have a fair bit of texture-work I want to do with her outfit - namely I want to add some pins to the jacket, as well as a faded Metallica logo on the back. And I also have some more model-work I want to do, such as adding a ring of chain loops going across her belt loops, just for flavor.

The most notable piece of unique model-work I did for this outfit is her belt pendant:

I wanted to create a bisexual symbol for her, but couldn't find a design I really liked, and so I ended up coming up with my own. Suki is not a subtle person, and so I wanted her to be proudly wearing something that proclaims her sexuality. I don't want to talk about how long it took to make these damn things.

As to the rest of her outfit, especially once it's complete with belt loops, it is intended to send mixed signals of "fuck off" and "fuck me". Tight leather pants, generous cleavage, and open sexuality, paired with studs, chains, and spikes. This is a reflection of Suki's mixed personality, where she's open to fuck but closed to talk. Getting all up in her guts is first-date affair, but you should consider yourself lucky if she actually ever asks you for your name, and downright privileged if she tells you hers.

Once I finish her outfit and get her all into Source, I plan to revisit my notes for RWNV and rework them into the Micro Chapter structure. It should be a pretty easy affair, as they were originally written to be a bunch of Micros anyways. They even had a fair bit of narrative cohesion between episodes, which could be easily grouped into chapters. The biggest complication will just be making sure each chapter has at least 4 episodes worth of content, while also making sure each chapter at least nominally moves the story forward (and backward).

Which I suppose is good a time as any to discuss my aspirations for Suki and her Micro Series. Up top, I will say that I have put a meticulously amount of thought into Suki's backstory, going all the way back to her parents' youth. All of this effort compounds together into defining who Suki is as a person at the time this story takes place - a woman who is pathologically terrified of responsibility.

There is one tattoo from the original draft of Suki that I couldn't work into this version of her - I feel like it was probably the campiest of all her tattoos, which is a shame because it is also probably the most important to who she is as a person. It is a line from the poem Caged Bird, by Maya Angelou:

"A caged bird stands on the grave of dreams"

This one line, more than any other, defines Suki's core life philosophy, the lens through which she sees the world. She sees responsibility as a killer of dreams. Her mother gave up her dreams of being a pianist when she became pregnant with Suki, because it was the "responsible" thing to do. Her father exited the military and struggled in civilian life, becoming an abusive and depressed alcoholic, because it wasn't "responsible" to have his family constantly on the move with each new deployment. A formative memory for Suki was the first time she heard her mother play piano - before her father drunkenly screamed at her mother to "stop making that racket". That was the last time Suki ever heard her mother play piano.

She saw what "responsibility" did to her parents, saw how it crushed them into hollow shells too afraid to dream, and she swore to never let that happen to her. Responsibility is a cage, and a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams. And she wasn't willing to bury her dreams.

So to say that I consider this line critically important to Suki is an understatement. It is literally a fundamental pillar that I wrote her entire backstory around, starting before she was even born. I want to find some way to integrate it properly into the series. If I can't have it as a tattoo, then I will find some other way to get it in. The series, the character, would simply be incomplete without it.

With all of that in tow, the story of Roamer Wanderer Nomad Vagabond is ultimately one of catharsis. Not necessarily of healing, but with coming to terms with the world. For Suki, that ultimately manifests in three ways: reestablishing contact with her mom, who kicked her out of the house at 18 and has since completely cut Suki out her life; coming to forgive the only person in her adult life she has told her real name to (hint: her name isn't actually Suki) who later broke her heart and her trust in people; and to find a community where her first instinct isn't to run, but she is actually willing to put up her bike and settle down in.

The road to catharsis is not an easy one for Suki, though, and is full of bumps and sweaty, steamy, screaming casual sex, intermixed with the occasion moment of vulnerability and reflection. The tone of the series is intentionally confused and littered with whiplash moments, which is itself a reflection of another line I consider foundation to Suki and to the series. This one is taken from the song Fragile Minds by Silent Theory:

"Lost in the whisper, and hung on a prayer; if you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there."

Suki is a very horny leaf caught in a storm. She doesn't know where she's going, but she knows that any road will take her there. All she has to do is climb on her bike and drive.

I could go on at length about Suki and RWNV, but I think I'll leave it here for now. I just wanted to give you all a peek into what I've been cooking up for her. It's a mighty hearty stew, is all I'll say there.

Conclusion

So yeah. In summary, my dad has recovered remarkably well, Overbreed is chugging along at a great pace; the Life is Strange Micro Chapter is coming together for a hopeful release in the coming weeks; and I have had great success with reworking Suki's tattoos and have made significantly forward progress on her, with aspirations for hopefully launching her Micro Series after I have worked through the backlog of already-animated Micro Series.

That's all for now! Until next week, everyone!
