Hello, everyone!

Sequence B (barely) passed the 12-minute mark this past week. The main chunk of the sequence, which is the journey into Mercy's imagination as she has an existential revelation, has wrapped up now, clocking in at almost exactly 9 minutes.

We're now in the final stretch of the Sequence, which is Mercy sucking herself off in a manic bid to cum. As you can probably surmise from this post's preview image, she gets rather desperate indeed. I've gotten the Sequence up to the point where Mercy rolls onto her shoulders for upside-down autofellatio (see below image from the storyboard for reference), though I haven't actually animated the roll yet - it is the next thing to do, when I work on it more tomorrow.

All that's left at this point (after the roll itself) is a bit more sucking, a touch more deepthroating, and a whole lot of Mercy eagerly swallowing a rather concerning amount of ejaculate. Then there's the segue into Narrative B.

At which point, the blocking for Overbreed Episode 1 should be done!

I will need to do a once-over of everything, make sure I didn't miss anything. I know for a fact there is at least one, I think two, minor DVa animations I need to build to be playing in the background during Sequence B. But beyond that, it's just a matter of playing through the whole project and make sure everything flows well, that there are no continuity errors, and that all of the major animations are indeed actually done.

Once I've finished the once-over, though, the next thing to do is generate human-friendly text transcripts for Mercy and Sombra, and have them proofread by native speakers to make sure that the Swiss German and Mexican Spanish respectively are correct. Right now the non-English vocabulary is using a rough machine translation, and I want to make sure I get everything right. The last thing I want to do is insult speakers of the languages through my ignorance - the least I can do is actually get the translations correct.

While the translations are out for proofreading, I will begin the process of casting and verifying voice roles. I already know that Milly is absolutely on-board for voicing Mercy in the project--she was actually getting rather impatient for Overbreed when voicing Mercy for the Pharmmetra project. Similarly, I have had Bordeaux voice Zarya in Overbreed Episode 0, so I will naturally be reaching out to her to see if she is interested in the Sequence A role of the project; and I have had SilkyMilk voice DVa in various projects as well. While DVa only has a very minor role in the project, she does still have a role, and as such, she'll need a voice casting.

I haven't confirmed Bordeaux and Silky for Overbreed Episode 1 yet, but they have both publicly voiced the characters in the past, and I have historically had extremely positive experiences working with them, such that I am confident enough to pre-emptively namedrop them here. I'll honestly be surprised if they decline to jump in.

That leaves two voices left to be cast, in Moira and Sombra. They're both important castings too, albeit for different reasons. Moira is important because, while she only has narrative roles in Episode 1, her role is very critical to the narrative; in fact, she is one of only three characters to have extensive voiced roles in all six episodes. And Sombra is important because, well, Sequence C is 35 minutes of her getting her brains fucked out. Throw in the narrative roles she has throughout the episode, too, I guess.

I have absolutely no initial inclinations toward who to cast for either of them, and am going to be going in more or less blind for the casting. Which is always an exciting yet terrifying experience.

However, we're not quite there yet. If things go as well as they have been, though, I suspect to be finished with Sequence B by next Progress Report. Once that is done, I will have a full WIP render of the entire project that will be available for Patrons to watch through and provide their own thoughts and feedback on. I don't expect anyone to actually sit through it, seeing how it'll be 75 minutes of unfinished unlit unvoiced animation, but I will have it up regardless. I know for a fact at least a few people sit through these massive WIPs, since I had at least two different people reach out to me with feedback on the last Overbreed WIP upload.

Love And Degeneracy

In regards to Love and Degeneracy, now that all of the shots shown in the series teaser have been finalized and polished, I have started focusing on polishing Episode 1. I need to have them both ready to go, since when the teaser goes public, Episode 1 will go live for Early Access Patrons.

I'm currently in the process of lip-syncing the episode. As of writing, all of the dialogue lip-sync is finished, and about half of Chloe's non-dialogue lip-sync is finished. Meaning that I have the other half of Chloe's non-dialogue to do, and all of Max's non-dialogue left to do.

Once lip-sync is done, there is the expression pass, which is both facial expression and head movement for emphasis. After that is the detail pass, and then finally a light-finalization pass.

I am hoping to have all of that done by next Progress Report. This is going to be the litmus test to see if two weeks is actually enough time between episodes - and ideally, if I can get all of it done in one week, such that I can use the other week to pursue other projects.

Specifically, I want to spend one week between Micro releases exploring both the UE5 space-brothel game design, as well as transitioning my workflow over to animating in Blender, so that I can take advantage of those sweet, sweet cloth simulations and never have to animate a fucking skirt by hand again.

We'll, uhh. We'll see how this goes in practice. Getting Episode 1 is the practice run; once the teaser is in the wild, with the release dates all published, the real test begins. Those deadlines are locked in, with public accountability breathing down my neck. I really don't want to have to push things back, if I don't have to.

But with only 2 hours a day to work on things, that's 14 hours a week to polish things, with an upper limit of 28 hours. That's less than two full 8-hour work days a week. It'll, uhh. It'll be close.

As a final note, I did manage to speak to my sound designer earlier this past week. Apparently he had gotten hit hard by that snow storm that slammed the midwest and the east coast; not only did he lose power during the storm, but his Internet connection separately fell out. He's been spending the past few days struggling on a wireless hotspot off his phone using 4G. He was set to have some ISP engineers come check out his connection this past weekend, but I haven't heard back from him yet as to how that went.

Losing power understandably slowed down his ability to work, but he was hopeful to have a draft to show me, once he got his Internet figured out. So, hopefully sometime this week, we'll have the core sound design for the whole series figured out.

Of course, I then proceeded to hit him with the series intro, which needs its own sound design. It's only 17 seconds, but work is work.

At any rate, that's all for now! I'm very excited to be so close to the end of blocking out Sequence B of Overbreed, and by extension, to finish the blocking phase wholesale for the project. This is far and away the largest project I have taken on to date, and unlike the Frozen video, I actually like this project, and am supremely happy with and proud of it.

Until next week, everyone!

What are the odds we can get a WIP video of sequence B??
