Progress Report - March 4, 2026 (Patreon)

Hello, everyone!
I apologize for being late on this Progress Report. I usually write these Progress Reports on Tuesdays, which are my chore days (whether or not this implies that I consider writing Progress Reports to be a chore, I leave as an exercise for the reader).
However, whilst I was out shopping yesterday, a friend whose spent the past two weeks in an arm brace as they recovered from hand surgery (and has consequently gone stir-crazy not being able to play games) messaged me asking about playing games when I get back. And so my normal routine of store -> dinner -> Progress Report was interrupted and became instead store -> dinner -> games. By the time we finished, it was past midnight and I was far too exhausted to write the Progress Report.
With that in mind, we're here now, so let's talk about how things are going! This will be a short one.
In regards to Overbreed, the Swiss German naturalization is coming along well. The friend I have working on it is hoping to be done with it by this upcoming Sunday. Love and Degeneracy has its first episode and its series preview fully rendered out in 4K with their final sound design, and are ready to be published.
What's currently holding things up now is my bodging together the Micros release page. Due to their short runtimes and their relative rapid-fire release schedule, I don't want Micro videos cluttering up the Films page. Instead, I am building a more hierarchical organization system for them, which will make it easier for people to keep track of the various Micro series and chapters as they come out.
There are three major components of this larger Micro release ecosystem: the viewer-facing web-page, the artist-facing (that's me) editor, and the structured data medium that bridges the two.
As of right now, I have both ends of the ecosystem built and functional: the web-page dynamically loads in the structured data and generates the navigable menu system for the viewer to watch videos; and the editor allows me to create new elements in the release system and export them out into that structured data.
I am now focusing on the structured data itself. Specifically, I am working on the pipeline of taking the locally-defined files selected by my editor and converting them into an agnostic file-structure hosted on my webserver that people can utilize. It's honestly just a glorified upload system, with a bit of housecleaning to keep things neat and tidy.
For example, if I target a file C:/ToUpload/Primordium_Ch01_Ep01.mp4 to upload, then the structured data mechanism will upload that to /Micros/Videos/primordium/ch1/ep1/Primordium_Ch01_Ep01.mp4 on the server. It's really not that complicated.
The devil, of course, is in the details.
That's mostly what I've been working on for the past week. I don't expect it to take me too much longer to finish up here, and am hoping to have it all ready to go live before next Progress Report.
At any rate, that's all for now! Until next week, everyone!
