Blue Star Episode 3 - Wip 7 - An Asari Scorned (Is About to Become a Bad-Ass!) (Patreon)

HELLLLLLLLL-OOOOOOO EVERYONE!!

I'm feel pretty fucking jubilant after how well today went (doubly so with how terribly my work ethic slipped yesterday - I didn't get anything done for Blue Star yesterday!), and I am doubly excited to share this particular WIP with you all today.

My only regret is I don't get to show off the freaking bad-ass scene and animation between the last two images, where Liara narrowly dodges a rain of bullets that fall her way. I debated showing it off, but I don't want to give away all of my awesome tricks, before the episode is done!

With that being said, and with the posting of this particular WIP, a lot of landmarks have been met:

I have constructed and lit the last scenebuild needed for the episode (the hangar area, down where the guys are, in the last image)

I have added and finalized what will probably be the single most difficult animation in the entire episode: Liara pivoting on her heel in a dextrous dodge.

Not only did I manage to get that animation done, but I also managed to do it by blending hand-done animation* with motion-capture animation! And if you've seen my post on it, then you'd know that getting decent motion-capture is harder than one might think...

I am now at a point where the only things left to do are the action scenes and the dialogue scenes. As such, I have finalized the script for Scene 1 and sent it off to Incognita, Ivan, and Andy; while I wait on them, I will work on the action scene. Hopefully, they will have their audio back to me by Monday, so I can cap off Scene 1 and get to work on Scene 3 by Wednesday.

*  Hand-done animation is 99% of my animations in general, and 90% of this episode. For this episode, of the 10% remaining, 9.5% of it is puppeted animations for running and walking (because fuck doing those by hand), and then final 0.5% is motion-capture.
