Hey Adam, I'm sorry to hear you are going through this but thank you for sharing what is going on. I've been wrestling with a similar Gastrointestinal + Bad Brain spiral and have struggled with many of the same frustrations and uncertainties. It's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Jim's constant prolapse that's just searching for liquid

Good to hear stuff is moving to a better direction! Whatever the new normal is going to be I'm here for it, if it means just focusing on long form content mostly I'm suuper here for it :D You getting to focus on stuff you are passionate about would be great.

This is probably unhelpful but if these issues continue, travel to Brazil for medical care. Their doctors are great and the services are cheap. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, low Testosterone, and low on a TON of vitamins. Glad you're over the worst of it now. (I hope you keep getting better.) Don't worry about Lion King Part II, that'll be the GTA VI/Half Life III of youtuber reviews. Do what you're comfortable with and we'll support you. (Spiral maybe.... lol) I miss Scoot too (which is weird since I never met him in person. These para-social relationships are weird.) I can only imagine how hard it is for you. Love you man, take care.

I can relate a lot to your health issues, I have all the same mental conditions (isn’t it fun?) and when I was in high school my doctor thought I had SIBO and I did the elimination diet and all. I never really found out if I did conclusively have SIBO or not but I really think a lot of it was caused by stress and living in an abusive environment. I think mental stress can cause way more physical damage than people think and it’s all connected. Especially going through all that at the same time, it’s such a shock to your body and it’s no wonder it can affect your general health so badly. I think therapy’s a good idea and hopefully as time passes you’ll be able to heal more and things will get easier.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Just from the peek into your personal life you have provided us, you have gone through a lot of turmoil over the past year. That would (and will) affect anyone. I would definitely look into a therapist. You seem like a very introspective person based on your content, but a therapist can help point you in the right direction and give a different perspective.

I am happy to hear that you are feeling and doing better. I hate parasocial shit, but you have been my comfort content creator for the last decade. I am always wishing the best for you. I am excited to watch whatever the hell you put out in the future.

I am in an extremely similar situation. 30 yo gay male. Ptsd, depression, anxiety, autism, adhd, anhedonia and trauma. I have severe IBS, metabolism and bowel digestion problems too. After much, much research with autism, mental problems affect digestion and metabolism and the pain is felt double because autism the sensation of the ailments. Also, by turning 30 some autistic people develop sensitivity to casein, gluten, FODMAPs and other classes as well. In my case specifically am extremely sensitive to casein, gluten, FODMAPs and probably other stuff. Avoiding eating them or testing is possible but I know It's too much. Alcohol is especially not recommended. I discovered possible solutions to the diet is having digestive enzymes and fibre supplements. You already mentioned alot of fiber supplements but not enzymes. There are tablets that cover all food sensitivity to help with digestion and they are affordable. I just tried it so I don't have feedback so maybe it's something to look into. For the mental health, I am with a therapist specializing in trauma and have a background on autism. EMDR is good for trauma and he is helping Alot. For the mental health medicine, I just found out that I am extremely negatively affected by any medicine that has side effects with metabolism, sleep, diet and drowsiness. They hit so hard that I feel way worse because of it and don't get any positives. SSRIs, SNRIs, and alot of psychiatric medicine do. You have to read up on the side effects and keep aware of them because the effects don't develop overnight, they can take months. ADHD non stimulant meds might be too weak especially with the other stuff happening. There is only 2 stimulants and 2 variants of each, long and short acting. Psychiatrists leave them as a last option but all ADHD meds effects are instant. You know the day of if they did something ot not, so testing should be a week or 2 each. Finally, as hard as it is, for me these problems are a state of being and there's no cure or magic pill. It gets better in knowing myself and my problema more and treating them as a part of me that needs care not a part that needs to be cut off. Sorry for the long comment. Hope any of it was a bit helpful or added something.

you will get through this and go back to gay partying Adam. i just spent a year lying in bed in what felt like a groundhog day loop waiting for a back surgery, now im painless, cant work more than 4hrs daily and have to do a lot of old people pool gym activities but we must persist, the only way is up after you hit bottom. Also i considered Scoot a friend, i chatted with him weekly via telegram or instagram, i live in uruguay but his death hit me like a train, i have been chatting with him before knowing your channel, because indie backyard wrestling furry fan, i can't begin to imagine what it is for you, the mourning, but the pain will gradually diminish, and he will never be forgotten. This is gonna sound very nerdy, but playing expedition 33 has helped me with the Scott process, it is a lot about death and hope. My best wishes for you

Hey Adam, you may have already looked into this, but if not, I would look into dysautonomic disorders. I have one, and my symptoms are very close to yours. The autonomic nervous system controls so many involuntary systems in the body like blood circulation and digestion, so when it's not working right, you can get symptoms like brain fog and only feeling ok when laying down (from poor flow to the head), racing heart (heart struggling to circulate blood without proper support from the nervous system), and stomach problems. From my understanding, it's really common for dysautonomia to be triggered by a serious illness (like your c. diff) so that would fit as well. Anyway, I've been watching your videos for many years but joined just to leave this comment, since I really related to your struggle. I know how much it sucks dealing with a mystery illness, and I really hope you can get some relief from this soon. Wishing you all the best.

I would def look into Long Covid fatigue, many or your symptoms sound like what I've been going through. Idk what the solutions are I've had it a year: extreme fatigue, brain fog, dissociation, clumsiness, and my short term memory is gone. Was already having some issues with these because of my anxiety and depression, but then I got Covid for the frist time in 2024 and have still been having long covid symptoms. I only just now got into physical therapy for the memory stuff, doc got me on adhd meds to help with the brain fog and it did help a lot, now i can't be on it bc of insurance (in america it's a black box drug and you can't get it w/o an adhd diagnosis, it's not an approved treatment yet for long covid)

Adam, thank you so much for sharing with us what you’ve been going through - I think everything considered, this just shows how resilient you really are, although I’m sure you didn’t feel resilient for a lot of it. Sharing what you’ve been going through, what’s helped and what hasn’t, I’m sure will help others who experience similar to you! I recently got diagnosed with ADHD too and so totally relate to how a lot of things start to make sense. I work as a therapist and can see how you’ve already made so many positive changes for yourself, I think CBT would be really helpful to learn more about your anxiety and depression, and ways to manage this. CBT can also take into account physical health problems and how these can impact on us too! Do what feels right for you with the channel, whatever is easiest and manageable, I appreciate your passion and want to please everyone, but you, your health and your wellbeing come first!

Most of experiences you described are familiar to me. I can relate to the whole of the story, except such severe body level states (biological, neuro-bio-chemical etc.). I imagine that it was (still is?) the magnitude of the shock you've experienced, grief and fear levels and those, when overlooked – and I've also tried everything I could think about – could as well kill you. Looking for therapist is a great Idea, considering what happened in your life (and probably/also projecting from my own stuff).

Mr Moxie

I'm not going to be one of these people who says "I know what you're going through." You and only you know your life experience. What I will say is that I have gone through stuff that could definitely be argued to be similar and have some insights that could be helpful. You are obviously free to disregard any/all of this. I will just try to share some of the things I think maybe would've helped me and thus maybe could help you. I'll try to be relatively brief, but mental illness is non-trivial so to write sufficient words to help can also be non-trivial. (Quick summary of me) Diagnoses are: 299.0/F84.0 Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level 1 296.33/F33.2 Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent 300.02/F41.1 Generalized Anxiety Disorder Late 2022 I was 150lbs heavier and my life was defined by anhedonia and depression. It was a depression that built for many many years and still follows me, but I definitely have turned a corner and begun improvement. (End my summary) Mental Health Insights: (from my experience) 1. 100% the most important thing one needs to improve mental health is to have somebody that they feel they can talk to that they feel very very safe being very open/honest with. A therapist's time is too limited so it would likely need to be friends, or family, or some kind of mental health mentor person. This person hardly has to *do* anything, they just have to listen to somebody venting. From what you are saying, it sounds like you are traumatized. Depression (particularly anhedonia) can be a response to too much negative emotional stimulation, so the whole nervous system needs to shut down to cope. One with anhedonia doesn't feel joy because their body won't let them feel anything because it believes the safest response to recent stimuli is downregulating all feeling. Generally this will stay this way until all this gunk in the mind and heart is released from the person. And the first step is just saying it. Just saying all the racing thoughts and feelings and how awful they are. Vomiting up that negative emotion to somebody you trust to just sit there, listen, and care. I did not begin healing until I was able to let all of that out via talking and I felt heard. 2. Once step 1 is largely done, meaning nothing has yet been fixed, but one can feel a lot of that awful is out of their gut and has at least been heard, the next important thing is mentally opening the door to hope. For me it felt so pointless. My first few major attempts at even small bits of hope were me doing it kind of ironically. I was 100% truthfully as sure that it would fail as I am sure that gravity will continue to hold me to the ground. My depression and misery had been with me almost my whole life, they for all practical purposes to me were as certain as the physical laws of the universe itself. So honestly, the first several times I even entertained hope, I did it just so after it failed (which I was sure would happen) I could go back to my therapist and say "see, told you so." But when the misery I was SURE would happen didn't happen, my certainty of my hopelessness weakened slightly. This is basically what curing depression/healing trauma is. It's being confronted with a reality that is incompatible with the hopeless reality you are certain you currently exist in. With time, I slowly let in *some* hope. Nothing crazy. I still really struggle to believe "Things can be good again." But I do now at least believe "I definitely can be less miserable than I otherwise would have been." 3. Step 3 for me was "Do things that make me feel like I have agency." For me, because I was so fat I truly believed (and still mostly believe) that I was unlovable as a result. In my mind my unlovability is still mostly a law of the universe. But I knew if I did certain things I could gain strength and lose weight. And even if the universe itself wanted to, it couldn't make it so being 30lbs lighter was literally identical to not being 30lbs lighter. Whatever cosmic force NEEDED me to be miserable couldn't break objective reality. So by beginning to lose weight and gain muscle. I had the power to make myself less miserable than I otherwise would be. I could prove to myself that I at least had SOME agency. Once I could demonstrate even the slightest bit of agency over effecting my objective reality, and I did that over and over, it became harder to be so damn sure of the hopeless limiting beliefs that defined me and kept me confined to my life of depression/anhedonia. When one's subconscious begins to acclimate to the idea that experiencing the full force of reality is safe again, it can slowly start to let life back in. Joy, and even memories can start to come back. I'm not there yet. I still haven't had a 7/10 day in maybe a decade if not more. But this year is the first year in god knows how long where I'm starting to have regular 5-5.9/10 days, and compared to where I was it's so much better. I hope something in there might help you. Also for the record, as a brother in depression/asd if you wanted to talk further I'd be happy to be a resource in any way I can. I know that sounds like an empty platitude, and I know to you I'm just some rando, but if you've made it this far in the post, I think you might understand that I'm not like a fake stolen-valor type depression haver. I, like you, I've experienced the true true depression, and so I know how important having others as a resource can be. So, on my honor as a very literal minded autist, feel free to reach out if talking to me further might at all help you.

Been watching your content since I was like maybe 14 years old. I deeply appreciate the work you have done and honestly you shouldn't ever put yourself down for not being able to keep pushing yourself to produce things consistently. You know yourself your best stuff happens when you are feeling good and capable. Some people will go but it's not a numbers game. You've produced so much good and incredible content. I'm not trying to glaze because I'm not going to get anything out of that, I just hope if you see this you can worry less about justifying your lack of recent production. I have found some of my favourite content through your yearly lists and have laughed so much watching your reviews. Those videos will always be there so if you ever need to take a considerable gap to focus on your health. That's not going to change how anyone views your channel and your work. Keep being you, keep recovering at your own pace. I love you like id love any human even if I don't know you personally. Much love 💕
