City by city, life has been subverted. An alien race known as the Wa'eel  is capable of hijacking human cognition, turning them into drones.  Refugees are only safe far from large population centers, but it is only  a matter of time. Three young men are given a job at a remote military  facility, but the opportunity that presents itself might be the first  step in taking back their world. The only cost will be their humanity...

The concept behind the story was that feral chimera creatures would be too distracted by base instinct to be controlled by the aliens and they would then be effective weapons against them.
