An Update On The Next Project (Patreon)
Content
It's time for another patron exclusive look at how the next project is shaping up. It continues to be a work-in-progress in every sense of the word. That's the beauty of a project that is still months away from release. It's also why I'm trying to keep a lot of things under wraps until I'm doubly sure I've got something how I want it. I want to share so much, trust me. But you all might be dizzy from all the little changes that happen until this project starts the final development of its Episode 1. Once I'm finally rendering the episode, there will be many previews, I'm sure.
As you may have seen, the love interests are completed. Let me make a recommendation to aspiring game developers. Don't create 17 different character models for possible love interests, and then try and narrow that down to 5. At least it was fun to create the new models, including using some new techniques for model creation. These ladies all have custom texture work in some form, with some being very custom with a lot of time in Photoshop. As always, for any character that is even close to a main one, I've blended different models and features for the 3D model itself. There is no going on the Daz store or Renderosity and purchasing these models. I planned to spend just a day or so working out some rough features and notes on each love interest candidate. Instead I ended up spending a few more days creating the models, texturing them, finding hair, building out a potential wardrobe list, and having my beta team both review early drafts and then vote on the candidates.
With all that, I did get my love interests locked in, but what an adventure that was. We will have six love interests, along with some other ladies who come in and out of the story, letting you make sweet, sweet love to them. I wanted to keep the love interests to four or five, but that just did not work out with the variety I wanted to get in.
The change of pace for a few days was very nice. I had wanted to do it sooner, but with the work to get TBaK ready for Steam, an unexpected "vacation" I took, and some other things, I worried I would fall behind on To Be A King. A few very productive weeks there ensured that I felt more comfortable taking a few days to shift gears. If things continue to go well with To Be A King, still my main priority, I'll be doing this different work every couple of months or so. It is still creative work, but sometimes the best boost to creativity is doing something a bit different. Even creative work can become too routine. It had been several months since I created any new models, and even a few months since I did any model work at all. I learned some new skills, got higher quality and easier to work with models (I hope), and feel better about this next project. This will also come in handy when I need some new environments for To Be A King here soon.
That's all I can reveal right now. There are still more love interest previews, and those will continue to be exclusive to $10+ tier patrons until all of those are done (which will be soon). Other patrons will get a look starting in September. Have a great one!
