[Disclaimer]: This Story is an extremely Soft sci-fi type. In fact, it should be better to call it science fantasy. You will receive more answers like It’s magic! Than any superstring theory or anything of the like. Even so, I will do my best to stay within a certain limit where pure Sci-Fi fans don’t have to bang their head every three sentences and wonder what the hell I am writing about….Well, At least I will try.

Those who know me and my previous works know that I am an extreme fan of mythology. I am a myth nerd rather than a science nerd. So this story will also incorporate my hobbies. But with a twist. Rather than my usual Myths reference like in Son of Hero King and God of Crime, this time there will be more Fairy tale reference.

This story will either be the best story I have written or the worst. Let’s see how it goes.

[????]

In a small house made of ice, resembling an igloo, a young man slept peacefully, his pale body exposed to the chilling temperature with not even a stitch to cover his nakedness. With a handsome face and long, black hair, he emanated an air of fragility.

"Ugh..."

His body stirred as he turned, and he tumbled out of the ice bed, hitting the ground with a thud, finally awakening.

Groggy and disoriented, his golden eyes surveyed his surroundings until he remembered where he was.

Rising to his feet, he inhaled deeply and exhaled, preparing himself for the day ahead.

"Time to start a new day."

An unusual statement, considering the world outside was enveloped in impenetrable darkness.

A darkness so deep that it should have rendered everything invisible.

Yet, he was “used” to it and his sight was nearly unobstructed. Just as he had grown “used” to the biting cold and thin air.

A gust of frigid wind swept by, causing him to shiver slightly. Being completely naked posed a minor issue. But he had no more that could fit him and the knowledge he had was not helpful in creating them. Nor did he in fact need them.

"It's time to hunt for breakfast."

He moved, his steps cracking the icy ground beneath him as he started running, each stride propelling him forward.

Far on the horizon, a source of light could be seen and it was his target.

He ran without hesitation. The darkness around him progressively receded, going from pitch black to a more visible world,  until he finally emerged from the darkness, stepping into a world bathed in light.

Steam billowed from his body as the stark temperature difference hit him.

Woosh

The surroundings gradually transformed from an icy landscape to a cracked, scorched ground. He knew very well that if he ran for a few more minutes, he would reach a place where the wind was so hot that heat waves danced in the air.

But the other side was not his target today.

Looking up at the sky, he squinted, observing the three suns. Their positions indicated that his prey would be out hunting.

He stood in the perfect spot—the only place where creatures, unlike him, could survive. A place that balanced the extremes of heat and cold.

Redirecting his gaze from the suns high above, he embarked on a leisurely walk toward the massive biodome situated a few hundred meters away. This was the only artificial structure that could be observed.

From afar, one had the impression that the Circular dome was unending. Covering an area so wide he could not really see the end of.

His pace slowed as he approached the biodome's colossal metallic door, eventually coming to a halt.

[Identification]

A robotic voice filled the air.

Expressionless, he pressed his hand against the door, aligning his face for retina scanning.

A red light flashed, covering him in its entirety, and a string of numbers appeared on the screen of the door until everything turned green.

[Identification complete]

[Welcome to Eden Garden, 01E01210. May peace be with you.]

“May peace be with you.”

He repeated the words. Even after all this time he still had a hard time understanding what this means.

Uncaring of his confused thought, the door opened, and he was first showered with cleansing liquids to rid him of any contaminants that might jeopardize the biodome's ecosystem. Only then did a second door grant him access to the true biodome—a realm completely distinct from the icy or scorched landscapes that prohibited life beyond himself.

It was a world filled with beautiful wildlife, a lush forest, and the cry of beasts and insects.

He inhaled deeply, feeling the stark difference in air quality. His lungs filled with the purity of oxygen.

This was his world.

A world where no one like him existed.

A world where everything but him was food to be devoured.

He wished to indulge a little more, however, his growling stomach reminded him that indulging in the air was secondary to satiating his hunger.

It was time to hunt.

...

When Zero One emerged from the special zone, he wasn't alone. Trailing behind him was a large, scaly creature, oozing from its orifices, its head crushed.

Despite its weight, Zero One carried it effortlessly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, displaying a certain nonchalance.

His expression remained apathetic, his only desire to devour his hard-earned meal.

To reach the area where the sun shone, he needed to continue walking.

.

But then...

Boom!

A tremendous shockwave seized his attention, causing him to glance up at the sky, where a star hurtled toward the ground.

The direction was the cold zone.

Curiosity and wariness consumed him instantly.

He had to investigate this phenomenon.

And so, forsaking his well-earned food, he sprinted in the direction where the fallen star lay.

(AN: This chapter is still a draft and is only available to the two highest tier for now. In fact, the whole story is still in the Beta reading phase and won't be truly available before September on Royal Road, my website, and Patreon as well as perhaps Scribble Hub. This is more of a sneak peek. Because today is the Birthday of my Mom and I wanna have the first chapter of my new story posted on her birthday. Will bring some luck I hope. Haha. Good night everyone.)
