The fear coming from Noah was palpable and the aura he was emanating was weak. Though the system was warning him about a difference between his physical strength and his aura, Omid was not worried.

Having powerful physical ability was the most common thing for the lower races. This was something necessary for survival after all and all of them were very fit.

Inevitably after a few million years of evolution and adaptation, they will start prioritizing mental capacity over physical one, or the race after them would do. Civilization below type 1 got erased every day when taken in the scale of the universe.

One small asteroid was all it takes generally to erase all life on a planet that could not even observe space.

“Are you Morgiana’s friends?”

“Have you seen Morgiana’s face?”

“Yes.”

“Then..”

Omid chuckled, he could see the wariness in the kid’s face as he observed them.  Taking off his helmet, he showed his face.

His dark skin and the two yellow tattoo-like rivers going from his face down to his throat were similar to what Morgiana had.

“I am a Djinn. You might not know what this means but our race is a pretty noble one in this galaxy. As for my relationship with Morgiana…Let’s just say I have seen her grow from a small little girl to a very impressive woman.”

He smiled softly, very careful with his words. Some species in this world had the power to tell lies apart from the truth. This was why he avoided answering the first question directly.

As for the rest, He was not lying. He had known Morgiana ever since she was a young child.

He had seen her struggle. He witnessed her rise and was part of her fall.

Truly a complicated relationship. One that would soon end.

He thought so as he looked at Morgiana lying down on the side in her red armor.

“Now that I answered your question. Why don’t you answer mine? We came to recuperate Morgiana. She is being chased by the 40 thieves. A dangerous group of criminals who are wanted throughout the galaxy. What happened to her?”

No matter how wounded she was, Morgiana was no pushover. It was surprising to see her wounded like this.

Furthermore, from the damage to her armor, it looked like she had been in some danger. The armor could hardly repair itself and was entirely focused on healing her.

“This…”

The boy Noah trembled more but started to explain as much as he could,

“Miss Morgiana wanted me to guide her somewhere. Some kind of ruin she said. That it was a very dangerous place and that we needed to be 100% sure.”

He spoke quickly as if he was vomiting all the words and wishing for nothing more than to be done with this story. His childish face was morphed in fear,

“Oh…?”

“All of this started because of this.”

Shuffling in his fur clothes, he took out a yellow rock and showed it to them. Immediately a hushed silence formed as all the pirates gazed at the rock in Noah’s hand, light nearly shining from their eyes.

Omid had to fight the urge to gulp down when he realized that the presence of an Abyss Beast was indeed proof of gold existing in this place.

It was with a supreme force of will that he did not simply take out his gun and start threatening the young boy to spill everything he knew while snatching the piece of gold.

He understood very well that haste made waste and information obtained through Threats and Torture was rarely reliable most of the time.

‘Calm down. Calm down.’

He chanted inwardly as if he was singing a mantra to bring calmness to his mind.

The pirates behind him were far more restless and only their fear of Omid helped them barely reign in their greed.

But they were all akin to a powder keg, ready to explode at any moment and this was something Omid understood.

For all their disciplines, they were pirates at heart. Ruffians who left their home in search of wealth while being ready for death.

He always moved with the clear knowledge that those who listened to him like well-tamed dogs now might change into greedy wolves and rise to a mutiny at any moment.

His authority was only worth it as long as he could bring them substantial and tangible benefits as well as victory.

He already made a signal discreetly with his hand, to make sure they all understood that they had to wait and not be too hurried otherwise things would fall apart.

“This is…Quite the impressive find. Did Morgiana tell you what this is?”

Noah cutely tilted his head to the side, “This is gold, right? She told me we could have a part of whatever we found once she left.”

“Heh…”

‘Oh Morgiana, you are still as naive as I remember.’

Had it been anyone else, Omid would have suspected they were fooling the kid, and for good reason. After all, while this wasn’t some kind of instant fortune, this discovery was enough to make sure one never lacked much of anything for life and perhaps even beyond, depending on how big the ruins and other resources were.

But Morgiana? Morgiana was different.

Like Cassim and even Alibaba for that matter, Freedom, Fairness, and Equality were her motto. The only difference was that, unlike Alibaba and Morgiana, Cassim was a veritable realist who did not let his illusions and wishes stop him from understanding what he had to do to reach his goal.

The more Noah spoke, the more a picture was starting to appear in Omid's mind.

“We were close to the ruin but we got then…Morgiana pushed me away and fought. She told me to flee, but I couldn’t leave her alone.”

‘This is something she would do.’

By now Omid was completely convinced about the authenticity of the situation.

“Tell me...Could you lead us to that place?”

Noah looked at them with suspicion before gazing at the fallen Morgiana. In the end, he asked, his voice trembling,

“Will you…Will you take care of her first?”

“Of course. This is our first goal after all. We will do everything in our power to keep her alive.”

Once again he was not lying. They would do anything to keep Morgiana alive. At least, for now. As for what happened after she outlived her usefulness? It was for Cassim to decide.

They had to keep Morgiana Alive to bring Alibaba in their clutch after all. Killing her immediately had never been the goal.

‘Furthermore — We might be able to bring her.’

Their true enemy and the true Big fish in this whole operation. In the end, Morgiana was nothing more than bait. Be it for this side or the other side.

She was quite the pitiful girl in a way. Not that it mattered to him in the slightest. She could only blame herself for being too weak to fight for her own Fate.

Signaling the Cyclops scientist to come and take Morgiana with her, Omid directly sent her a message.

[Put her in the Healing Pod but also add some sedative. It’s better to keep her asleep until we need her to wake up.]

[Understood.]

“Then. Dear little friend.”

“Noah.”

“Noah. Would you like anything else? We will go investigate the ruins fast.”

“Then, Could you give me something to eat?... I am starving.”

“Sure. We will make sure you eat until you burst in fact.”

“Hahaha. I will keep you to your words.”

The two men laughed, both hiding daggers behind their smiles.
