Wearing different sized shoes so his gait and stance were different, speaking in a certain way so you couldn’t see his dimples with one character vs the other. He acted his tail off and I’m happy he’s being recognized for it. I’m so glad to hear Gallo speak on it.

Mr. GALLO, this was a beautiful experience. I felt as if I was on a date or just having a light hearted conversation with a man who is engaged and present in it. I loved how you were fully into your topic of conversation and your craft as an actor. I need more of these. This is a healthy form of intimacy with this community and not just sexual. I skipped K Pop Demon Hunters at first because of all the hype. I figured it was probably overrated and didn’t want to end up disappointed. Fast forward a few months, I finally gave it a shot… and yeah, I was hooked within the first few minutes lol. I ended up loving it. ❤️😆

I will say I think Hamnet has done great in shifting away from the myth of Shakespeare as just a genius and instead shows his human side, focusing on his family, which gives a more intimate sense of the loss and relationships that may have influenced plays like Hamlet, making him feel less like a distant figure and more like a husband and father dealing with grief. Like seeing now how his writing came from real experience, making his work feel more meaningful and emotionally grounded. This has definitely nailed on giving a better insight of who Shakespeare was/is!

I'm loving this series already. It's a nice reset. I won't lie and say I've seen all the films BUT the one's I did see, I certainly agree. KPDH was a definite shock, to me, too. I scrolled every time it showed up on Netflix until it was heavily suggested. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. F1 was exactly what I expected it to be, so the "eeeeh" story wasn't a surprise. LOL. When MBJ won the show...everywhere exploded. It was a wonderful sight to see. Loving the insight, whether I fully know the topic or not. Bring on more of the movie chatter!

I agree-it was robbed! Ryan Cogler should have ALSO won for Best Director and Sinners should've won for Best Picture AND Best Cinematography. I was OVERJOYED that Michael B. Jordan won for Best Actor because he's sooo talented and I remember him from "All My Children" when he was sixteen. The performance for the best song with Misty Copeland performing after recovering from hip surgery.

I 100% agree. Real thing that I hate about Hollywood ehrn they make movies like OBAA is they're...way too patronizing, which causes the audience to not take it too seriously (don't even get me started with the pretentious inner politics of The Academy as well as The Board of the Grammys), despite the fact that the topic in question of the movie (i.e. migrant camps in US border) are real problems that affect REAL PEOPLE every single day. It barely brings awareness to the real issues because all that's going to be cared about is "But was the film entertaining though?"

Sean Penn was actually in Ukraine on a Peace Mission from what I understand, so he actually WAS doing something important than attending the Oscars. I don't blame him. If he feels that a better call to action is making a difference in the world in some way of another, all power to him.

Coogler didn't win because the Industry's still irritated that he signed exclusive rights to Sinners in his studio contract that benefited him more with residuals that it did the studios. Granted, that deal was a rare and exceptional deal that gave Coogler more control over Sinners and the outcome and accolades of what he'd earn for the film. Problem is, the Industry doesn't like that. They like directors that make films like shiny new toys that they can dissect, take apart, use as public domain, and re-reference however they want whenever they want. Not too get to political, but this also means black directors (despite how successful Coogler is as a director) are expected to get a lower cut than their white counterparts. Coogler didn't want that and the Industry hated him for it. So in exchange, they'll give him the accolades of Sinners being an exceptional script, they'll acknowledge MBJ was an exceptional actor in it, a phenomenal casting, and an above and beyond score, but they will NEVER admit how much of a cultural phenomenon Sinners was to the world. Hence they gave Best Picture to OBAA instead. OBAA was a great film; Sinners was just the BETTER film. The Academy is too fucking petty and spiteful to admit it. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Hmm, I think I'm in disagreement about this statement. Film, Theatre, Music, Art (including Digital Mutimedia Design) are ALL part of The Artd. Timothee's sister AND mother were ballet dancers. Opera is a VERY ever evolving art form that takes a lot of training to harness the craft well. The statement wasn't just bad, it was ignorant and arrogant. I saw the "drama" as a lesson as someone who is in the arts: don't isolate yourself in a comfort bubble of your industry solely because people in other industries aren't doing the same work as you. The Arts are a VERY small community where people know people especially when principles cross. Heck, there could be an instance he's casted in a ballet-esque film and needs to be trained by a professional ballet choreographer. (Tom Holland was a former ballet dancer whom Timothee lost the Marvel Spiderman role to) There could be an instance he'll be like Hugh Jackman or Daniel Radcliffe and be on theatre stage where he'd need to be trained to project his voice like an opera singer. With the amount of time and exposure he's had in The Arts, he should know better. Just hope the roasting humbles him to be a little more intuitive of the world outside of his "Hollywood bubble".

I'm not that much into movies but listening to Lord Gallo talk so passionately about it, now that I LOVED!!!!❤️❤️ I can listen to Lord Gallo breathlessly all day, God the rumble and timberof his voice!! 🫠🫠❤️ I loved his take on the Frankenstein movie. I haven't seen it, 'cause, you know, not into movies... sorry... 🙈 But that live can be so brutal sometimes and that you need that special person in your life to make it barible. It is so true! This feeling was so heartbreakingly portrayed in "Sage of the North Sea" when Mr. Robinson talks to the listener in the end just before going into battle. Makes me cry just thinking about that.😭💔 Thank you for that beautiful insight Lord Gallo. 🙏🏻❤️ That's one of the reasons why you're my favorite.😘 It is so nice that BKS makes this kind of content, you get a small window into how the VA's see the world through their interests and it's just beautiful! Hopefully other episodes of "Lord Gallo goes to the movies" follow. And maybe likewise content can come from this idea for the other VA's about their view on the world through their interests and craft.

as an F1 fan (the sport), who watched F1: The Movie, i'm gonna say that the movie is simply just that, it's a movie of the sport, bcuz some of the things they did in that movie WOULD NOT translate irl (they would be sent to the stewards for reckless driving, not to miss the cheating they did to get points 😭) and that's why it was so fun to watch. its inaccuracies made it more like, oh it's a movie ABOUT it rather than just a showing of what the sport is. I'm glad Gallo liked it and he described it perfectly, it is a popcorn movie, the script was predictable but it was just a nice watch HAHAHA

Loved it. I just simply loved it. It was like having a very pleasant, interesting and charming conversation with G while enjoying a cup of coffee, just the two of us ♥️ I laugh out loud when he told about watching the K pop movie with his niece. It just reminded me that my six year old niece made me watch Cinderella part one two and three in a row! during these Easter holidays here in Madrid (didn’t even know there was part two and three 😆) I also didn’t know the story of Denzel W. and Delroy Lindo! Loved him in Sinners and in my opinion he’s brilliant in The good fight series. I would’ve liked to know G, if you have read Hamnet. I’m still not able to watch the movie, the book was just heartbreaking for me. One day soon I’ll be strong enough to do it :) I’m rambling sorry, but for me it was such a entertaining and different audio from G ( after listening Chase me the day before ☺️ ) and I just loved listening to you talking and talking about movies and anecdotes. I am fairly neutral regarding Timmy C. But I think what made me annoyed with him is the thing that made everyone else enraged. We all go through that “too big for your britches” stage in life where we speak with more authority than we have on something bc we aren’t seasoned enough yet to appreciate how our thoughts/words can really alienate or marginalize people. So yeah - we end up saying dumb shit we wince at later. That’s fine bc it’s a part of growing up. I think what has everyone so inflamed, whether they realize it or not, is the WAY he said it. I’m an empath and a body language analysis buff - and it was giving insolence. The lack of respect in his attitude for something he ironically has a family background in was palpable. People are reacting to hubris and insolence on his part. Even his comments afterwards (“13 cents comment) showed such superiority that he doesn’t have the size yet to accommodate. He is celebrated sure, and is having a big moment, but he’s still young in this spot so he’s like Ariana Grande to Aretha Franklin. He’s a baby diva so he doesn’t have the tenor to be so insufferable yet😂 Seems like the younger generation prides themselves on being as inflammatory as possible, for some reason, and not in the fun ways. He ignited such vitriol from the masses bc he’s unnecessarily alienating two large art communities for what? To make a point about his own grandiose aspirations? It was childish and unimpressive. So people tend to like to burn you at the stake for those crimes😂😂😂

Some men love to hate MBJ bc he’s a hyped pretty boy and leans into the sex symbol trope heavily. It’s hateration and nothing more. I say that as someone who used the think he was just a pretty face and therefore dismissed him initially. But he is honestly a talent and what won me over actually was the way he carries himself even now. Unlike TC, he enjoys the sexual attention and praise but doesn’t absorb it. He doesn’t rely on it for his craft (like Shemar Moore for example - I said it the aunties are gonna come for me but I said it😂), and he still seems very genuine and honest and humble in the way he interacts with the world. His acceptance speech further demonstrates that. He has a lot of respect and appreciation for where he is and how he got there and doesn’t take himself too seriously. Timmy should take note and learn from him honestly.

Yes! Sindel bringing the banshee energy! Love her, and Katana as well. I'm a big fan of the razor fans, lol. So I have two favorites, one is a sentimental favorite and the other I just want his powers. So the first is Sonya Blade because she was the only playable female character in original MK, and the other is Sub Zero. Who doesn't want to freeze people? He also has a pretty interesting backstory with his sprite twin Scorpion. Get over here! I'm curious though to get your thoughts on Karl Urban being cast to play Johnny Cage in MK 2. I've been seeing online chatter about him being too old to play Cage. Thoughts?

My quick thoughts: The layers of storytelling in Sinners are so wonderful and complex, I'm still unpacking it. Micheal B. Jordan definitely deserved his win, and I would like to throw money at Ryan Coogler to do anything he wants. The CGI in Frankenstein was weird, but I only remember it being used sparingly. I focused heavily on the costumes because of their nomination in the category and realized there's a stunning but subtle use of storytelling through color. I could not bring myself to watch weapons, but my script writing professor raved about it.

OMG! That's amazing! I've always loved that name. Does she spell it the same? Yes, that is correct, Sonya was Earth realm's lone female champion. Raiden is definitely cool! Lightning powers?? Yes please! As for Karl Urban playing Cage...I like him but I agree. Cage isn't that old in the franchise and in movies with a lot of stunts, like MK, it's hard on the older actor's bodies. It's one of the reasons Daniel Craig didn't want to be James Bond anymore. So it's not a deal-breaker for me, like you I will love it whatever happens, but I'm hoping the stunts don't suffer because of it. I do love the scene in the trailer though where Kano is like: "You don't have any powers?" and he replies with "Just incredibly handsome." LOL, it's very Johnny Cage.

Not gonna lie I didnt see much of the Oscars movies so I was rooting for Sinners to win across the board. It means so much to me personally and is an insanely good, well rounded film. Def should've won best picture. Frankenstein was amazing and couldve been a contender in my book if it wasnt b a done to death IP. I watched 15 mins of One Battle After Another and felt uncomfortable with the sexualization of Perfidia so I tapped out. I love that Timmy got humbled so publicly. And I feel like they didn't age up any other characters, so I'm not sure why they chose him. That being said, I think he can pull it off. A little more backstory on Wolverine; he has enhanced strength, a mutated skeletal structure, and multifaceted healing powers. Due to them he ages very slowly, can survive the trauma of his mutant biology (the bone claws), and he heals rapidly from severe injuries. The rapid healing was how he got the adamantium claws. It was a military experiment, Weapon X, where they coated his bones in adamantium.

Hey! I specifically waited until Tuesday to write anything because I really didn’t want to accidentally spoil something 😄 (also because I had food poisoning, but that’s another story entirely lol). So… I’m kind of mixed on the movie. There were parts I genuinely loved — some of the fights were really cool, and I liked several of the costumes a lot, especially Shao Kahn and Jade. But the story felt a bit too straightforward/shallow to me? Like: “we need this → we get this → okay, next objective.” I think part of the problem is that there are just SO many characters, and it’s hard to give everyone enough time. Also, what they did to Sindel personally offended me.-.- How about you? What did you think about the movie?
