0.29.0

 - Another double update, both the end of the war and the aftermath.

 - Decided to increase the speed of buffing skills and trialed it on Carina's. Report if you like it and I can use the same style for other skills that target the entire party.

 - The new section of the game involves splitting the party into three groups for one dungeon. This is only possible thanks to the scripting work of Decanter. Huge thanks to him!

This release is mostly in good shape, but phew... it is weird trying to balance sections that players can enter with an enormous range of different situations. I very much want everyone's input before this release goes public. Some specific notes in that regard...

Everyone: Tell me how the fights feel. There are several sections where there are optional fights or victory is optional - these are unusual for optional challenges, so I want to get a lot of opinions to tune them right.

People with Low Level Games: Those of you doing LLG challenges or with intentionally bad saves, I especially want your input on the economics sections toward the end. You'll see what I mean. Also the required boss fights, which I want to make as hard as possible without being impossible for a minimum level party.

Decrypters: There are a ton more invisible calculations and there are probably a few mistakes in there. Also let me know if there are other investments or choices that feel like they should have an impact - for example, on the calculation of relationship points for Riala and Iris.

Having said all that... what I would value most are just people's honest reactions to the plot! I've run myself a little ragged trying to get this one out, so I hope everyone enjoys the conclusion of the entire chapter. I wanted to give this conflict all the attention it deserves while also setting the stage for the remainder of the game.

Minutiae: Megail still lists the Deeds of Vinario in the Ledger after giving them to Grubbak.

Desuwa

*spoilers* Minor nit: if you take another party up to where the AoA kills that chosen or the entrance Riala's party used to enter the castle, it gives you Riala's text even though she's not in the current party.

Can't Wait

"You have an understanding of basic economics?" "... yes?" "That's so fucking hot." Poor Iris. :P

Well... That was one long update. And it was amazing. There are so many things i want to write about. Like overall feel. Incubus King's kind speech at the end was a a really nice bait and switch. Aftermath was really interesting. Emotional, sad and joyful. And then there was poilitics. Lots of it. Which i always love. And then Chapter 4 opening scene happened. And it left me wondering. And intrigued. All in all that was amazing as usual. Some statistics from my blind (and rather bad all things considered) save. Rachilla died. Sister Kara died as well. Petitions. Military power 0. Economic Aid 2. Political Capital 1. That was kinda super bad. ProN for investments. 785k. Well, considering i got only 40% funds for Slum House of Petitions i am assuming that's a rather small amount. IK territories. Chalice : 23. New Givini -4. Tak'Kan -6.

Secular Reason

So uh... when choosing party configuration for the IK assault, it SAYS Riala's Party but that is actually Robins Party. They awe swapped in the menu.

Secular Reason

...And I'm an idiot. How the hell did I miss that? But there is one thing. Try to change your party after and Riala doesn't show up as a member to put in.

What is written below refers to the 0.29.0 version of the game. Woohoo! another amazing update Sierra. Now about battles, the non boss battles(incubus king) seemed great, they weren't all that hard but you couldn't careless either which is appropriate given how powerful the people in your party are supposed to be at this point. The semi-succubus was a damn hard one(as it should), I had a pretty buff team against her and i still had to rely on my strongest potions to outlast her. Now about the fight with incubus emperor. While the fight didn't fail to be boss like there where some problems with it, while not weak per se he failed to be too much of a threat, it makes sense that he wasn't at his full strength given everything that happens it would make sense for him to be even weaker infact. It also from a developer's point of view it also made sense as he should be beatable by weaker teams. However in my opinion he should be a more aggressive enemy (doing more damage but having less defence or/and hp. And if i may a suggestion about balancing, perhaps if the Incubus emperor fought Simon and realised he is "stronger than he looks" he might had already absorbed some of the power in his biggest cashe before it got switched allowing him to be a stronger boss for stronger enemys. Now plot wise, Man, where do i begin ? Everything was done very nicely from the wear because of the war so far, the ork meeting, the opportinistics dastards from well... everywere to the fall out of the war. Everything got both tied up in both a satisfying way but only in a sense that a chapter ended, cause now we officialy enter the big leages, till now we basically acted on a national level at best, but now Simon(and i mean Simon not DK) and the gang will have to do things in a much greater scale as they are now in charge a new world power. Which means pretty much everyone will want a piece of em. Honestly i felt intimidated about what's coming, sure you get more power and all but the "enemy" we'll have to fight now is substantially bigger than before. My only complaint is that if DK visits Zirantia the whole thing is kinda glossed over.

Argenten

Im mainly curious how to save the writhing succubus or if that is even possible. I feel bad not being able to help her

darkmouton

Hello, thanks for the release! I have a bug where the sequence is looping when Hilstara is defending the pass. When she say "Is it over? I didn't think..", it loops back to 2 fights before, with Varia. It then keeps looping. Also, if I load the save I made just before these fights, it instantly throw me in the event. I do not know if that's the expected behaviour, but it might be better to let the player customize again after loading?

Gasp

That was a great update overall. And i'm sooo happy that i did Cum research, it is one of the most hilarious moment of the whole game so far. My only regret was the the Incubus Kind fight... Ok, i have a pretty good party (Simon 48, Aka 46, Carina 45, Vhala 44 ), but i was never really in danger. I basicly kept spamming Precise Strike / Forceful Lunge / Arrow of Abstinence / Shield of Purity with a Mass heal every once in a while to get him down. For the statistics, i'm on a relatively optimised playtrough and ended up with Military power 2, Economic Aid 4, Political Capital 4 and 2355000 ProN to invest. For the territories, Chalice 32, New Givini 8, Tak'Kan 7. And as far as chapter 4 goes, it raised a lot of new questions... so i'm super impatient to see what is next.

Grif end

On an other note i was curious will we get the chance to invest in things from discretionary funding we might not have been able to at a previous time?

Censuur

Some stats from my save (spoilers, obviously): I lost the fight against the two orc mages in the pit, and Hilstara fought off two waves of enemies before I had her lose so I could continue, in the end I used my last reserves to stabilize the orcs since I was under the impression the fight I lost was winnable. This left me with Military reserves; 1. Political Capital: 5. Economic aid; 4 which was enough to solve everything beside cleaning up slimes and fighting mercenaries in Ardoheim (I picked fighting monsters) All in all this leaves me with 1,905,000 Pron, which I chose to invest in trying to improve the trade setup around Yhilin and consolidating control (Eustrin blacksmiths, Min's trade route, New Givini economy, Expanding Yhilin trade, mercenary regulations) The final tally ends with Chalice States on 30, New Givini on 15 and Tak'Kan on 4. I was wondering if Trin is supposed to be getting some RP since she seemed rather pleased about having experienced a continent-wide war. Riala ended on 83, Iris on 86, Elleani on 59. I also wanted to add I really liked the image of the recovering unsuccubus, having visible scarring on characters that went through such trauma works really well here.

iamnuff

Found what looks like a progress blocking bug. Defending the passes with Hilstara and Varia, got to the line about the southwest(?) passage being destroyed and the next battle was Hilstara alone (retreating and bottlenecking the orcs) One husk, two burners. Then a second wave with two of each. After I won, it just repeated. The same line about the Incubus Emperor destroying the southwest passage, the same conversation between Varia and Hilstara (even though Varia already left) and Hilstara retreated again. Beat those orcs and it just repeated again. Varia pipes up immediately after the battle with 'What the fuck is wrong with those orcs, they weren't normal' and Hilstara goes into the line about Simon calming orcs don, and the IK using them as puppets. This time, when Hilstara tries to retreat, she hits a crate and the whole thing freezes. Edit: Apparantly it's already fixed. Huh.

Sycrus

Hello. Minor, minor typo I noticed. In the Western Ardan Mountains, the knight at the edge of the human camp says "Truly, these are dark *day* for Ardohein..." Just an "s" missing. Thanks for all the hard work, I really love this game! Edit: Also, in the same region, if you talk to the orc at the top of the ladder from the ladder (instead of from above) AFTER you've already got the orcs to surrender, you still get the same pre-surrender dialogue and choices.

wearMoniker

General feedback on the update: Grubbak ended up being my favorite character in these two war updates. Post-upgrade, his personality came through strongly, and I liked the conversation about his sexuality. It managed a nice balance of characterization and world-building. The whole "Orc Kingdom" subplot also did a good job of showcasing how events are bigger than the heroes--and are outrunning them. Previously, Orcent had been the spearhead for all this Orc stuff. Even among the intelligent orcs working for Simon, it was really only him or the Impaler who had it together mentally. Now, Orcent feels like he's receded. There's a whole lot more orcs, with their own goals and motivations. Orcent isn't a stand-in for all orcs now, but a guy who has a high-tier position in a certain time and place. The fight against the Incubus King was fine. A stiff challenge, but nothing that really stood out to me. The Orc pit fights felt like the biggest challenge for the chapter, with a keen eye needed to balance gear and potions. During my first, very unbalanced attempted in 29.0, Ralke put me in mind of that old comment by Simon about how many Chosen had died when they tried to save their elixirs for "the final battle." (I half-expected Ralke to make a throwaway comment along those lines.) The "puzzle fights" in the update's opening were good, since they relied on exploiting abilities and battle techniques in novel ways. My one concern from a gameplay perspective is that while the Domination technique will be done right after the Riala boss fight, the player has never intentionally run away from a battle before. I'd guess that most casual players have never run away from a battle in this game, as it's usually not a viable option. However, I do hope that you include more of these puzzle fights in the future. One wrinkle for me was the post-war roundtable discussion. Ostensibly, everyone is taking part, but we only see the sprites for Simon and Janie. It felt odd as a roundtable since we've previously seen Simon & Janie having multiple one-on-one conversations about the war/coup in the same position. If the other character sprites were present, it'd feel distinct and more like a reunion. Although given the sheer number of harem members, they're really crowd the table! (Which would still be a cool image...) I ran a fairly optimized playthough, using a guide up until midway through Chapter 3. My stats at the end were: Military: 0 (over-extended) Economic: 4 Political: 5 Pron: 2,025,000 (+2,000,000) Chalice: 30 New Givini: 12 Tak'Kan: 14

Scol

Powergamer/decrypter's feedback incoming: [0.29.1] Bugs Throne Room[Pron Investments]: Funding Flowhouse also makes Archives, Rentals and Mushroom Farms show up in Ledger. Without Flowhouse they don't show even if they're funded. Yhilin Palace [Elleani, Trin and Succubus visit Simon]: Elleani says 2 very similar things one ofter another. They start with "But I will set it aside" [This might've been in 0.29.0] Combat Difficulty: Orc fights: these were the hardest ones in game so far. I missed Dwarven set and 1 of Yhilin sets. Had to use 4 orc potions (leftovers from earlier content) 4 big orc potions (bought before fights) and 7 revives to kill all enemies. Finally use for those consumable items. :) Hiltara's solo battles were initially hard but switching items to ones with highest DEF (disregarding all other stats) and using DEF increasing skill made her immune to all enemy attacks. Rest of fights were easy. As far as optimization goes, I ended up with less than 10 Instability, Ardoheim CD and Aram CD, less than 5 CD for others, 0 IDK morale, over 30 arclent acceptance, slightly below 200 army size (started war with >200) 30 army quality, over 2.1mil Pron and 30/17/14 for Chalice/Givini/Tak'Kan respectively. I'm trying to avoid exact values as I've been using save editing to retroactively change past choices (everything past reunion was a test run for me with investments results unknown till now) and I might've missed variable changes I should've applied. Time to replay half of the game I guess. :) 3AW was truly a bigger, better BoY. Fuckety fuck and AoA's bait and switch made me laugh hard. Party split made me use characters that usualy don't make it into the team. The story kept me awake till 3AM (would be longer if it wasn't for Hilastra loop bug), and the 4th Chapter intro made me excited for the future. Since the only named character to die was Commander Geoff the war hasn't weighted down on me as much as I expected though. One potential loophole in the story: How did Incubus King learned how to make Unsucubi? I'd assume it's not a common knowledge how to make Unman and IK doesn't seem like scholarly type to research it himself, nor he's stealthy enough to infiltrate the Foundry/Church of Ivala (not to mention geting BORED DURING F***ING INFILTRATION). He hasn't delegated it to Iris either.

I meant to do a review of this yesterday but by the time I got everything done I was just about to collapse from exhaustion. So here we go right now. This update was absolutely fantastic but that goes without saying. Considering how much this was all built up the resolution to the war was always gong to be amazing. I can't describe how good I felt when I killed the Incubus King. What a piece of shit he was. I really loved everything to do with Iris here as well, every time she was surprised by how Simon actually knew how economics worked just gave me a huge wide smile. I did really well in the petitions scenes but I only had 1.35 million Pron meaning that I couldn't fund the orcs, which I do feel bad about. Maybe one day I'll be able to change that. Also man I really feel bad about Geoff. I never hated him, even though he was a dick, and the way Ant shamed him after his death... ooh it made my blood boil.

Andrew Westwood

I think I'm a tiny bit in love with Iris. She finds things that even qualify as basic competence in a monarch impressive. Also a bit cute in her own way. I LOVED the scene from her perspective - it was more emotional than erotic.

Seil

I just witnessed the greatness that is Qum Bomb. That was hilarity incarnate. Megail does not like this. I can't fuckigntype, because of laughing too hard. And then fuckety fuck happened. Now my sides literally hurt. You're a sick and twisted person. In the best possible way.

Dear Sierra, i have to know, was there a series of choices i could have made to avoid geof dying?

I meant to do this review earlier, oh well... First off, I want to thank you for your great work. The war was, as has been said repeatedly, amazing. You really made me feel invested in the ongoing war and conveyed both a sense of the continent-spanning scope of the conflict and the idea that my decisions directly and indirectly shaped the course of the war. I can honestly say that I thought more about some decisions in this war than I did in some AAA games I recently played. I really enjoyed the characterization in this update, both for established characters and the newcomers. I especially enjoyed Grubbak and the orc summit, which I felt gave us a fresh idea of orcish (proto?)culture. The "characterization" I enjoyed most was definitely the Incubus... Superboss? (or whatever title he was using that minute), both in terms of onscrenn action (I can't be the only one who felt he was almost serene in his fight against Ginasta and the Chosen... until he got bored/angry/horny again) and the implied characterization through Iris. I knew that the Incubus somehting-or-other was a horrible person and utterly incompetent/disinteressted ruler, but I always interpreted his onscreen antics as a kind of "worst of". Judging by Iris's utter shock that being a ruler does not automatically mean that you are utterly incompetent, it seems that we basically got random scenes of the everyday "fun" of working for the AoA. On a more lighthearted note, I really loved Implevon's "Annoy"-skill, it worked very well in my fights at the summit. The absolute HIghlight was, obviously, the Big Reveal of the Incubus Superboss's great motivation. I love the way you used the entire attack on his stronghold to set that up. I was convinced that he was a utterly selfish and, ultimately, silly person and yet his speech reminded of Sanderson's Lord Ruler... until he actually revealed his motivation and ruined that epic moment. So, once again, thank you for this amazing update.

Ripe

I expected Qum's research to turn out hilarious but Qum Bomb was absolute greatness... I wonder how many of those Qum (and Robin!) have available. I did find one bug that I don't think is reported so far: as far as I can see Elven lands investments (Mushroom patch, Real Estate and Denmiel Archives) don't show up in Ledger. Also, even tho I gave Vinario Deed to orcs, it still show up in my Ledger.

Dr. Genesis

When splitting the party for the Incubus Superking's palace, the labels for Robin's and Riala's parties are switched around.

Hm, never really used Patreon before, but just wanted to come out here and say that I love your game and I think I have accumulated atleast 100 hours of playtime into your game. (One blind run and another run using a walkthrough) I love your game, I hope there will eventually be pictures in the sex scenes, but I hope for the most part that the story won't finish any time soon. You're so talented in world building and story telling! - I came for a wank, but I remember crying and feeling rather sad, when Simon had that conversation with Yarra about succubi lfiespan. ((Spoiler)) (Good thing it might be resolved now((?))

Desuwa

I guess I'll just dump my stats, too. I had a very optimized save going into the war but I haven't yet optimized the war in its entirety. I'll probably be aiming to trade Chalice stats for Ardoheim stats as everyone else got out of the war with minimal damage. I missed one succubus party at the start of this update because I was tired and didn't figure out the trick, but it's so obvious looking back. ProN: 2195000 (145000 + 2050000) Military: 0 (used all 6 reserve troops) Political: 5 Economic: 4 My political and economic points matched the available petitions for those types so I used all of them. I chose all four 500k investments (blacksmiths and orc, givini, and chalice trade) options plus the library and the mushroom farm. Chalice: 34 New Givini: 16 Tak'Kan: 14

DukeLeto7

Minutiae: Implevon the Third has a skill that requires MP (Annoyance), but (probably) no MP to use it on. The Chosen of Ivala says "Alright let's do this" immediately before idiotically attacking the Incubus King. The law of narrative imperative requires that he shout his name immediately after this, which should be Leeroy.

Desuwa

More minor infiltration bugs, it seems like nothing actually checks the active party, and the dialogue proceeds as if you have the "right" party. It might be easier to just have the parties not enter each other's sections, except the one place Riala goes to near the entrance. -the partially transformed succubus -the succubus at the entrance -chests -the teleportation crystal -individual succubi running around Riala and Robin can walk out the front door to the edge of the map. (edit: not a bug) A potentially more major bug: I'm not sure how I managed to do it but on a second save file I somehow locked myself out of the IK palace treasury. The switch isn't there, but the treasury door is still locked. I haven't figured out exactly how I did it, but this doesn't seem like it should be possible.

Seil

Sooooo... I am playing with my horrible save... There was that really awesome and at the same time tragic moment that immediately reminded me of Galuf's Last Stand. So, serious question. Is the character in question going to be unavailable permanently or is there going be some (potentially costly) way to bring her back?

Fulminato

realy enjoied all the content, the last word of the IE cause a little smile, over the megalomania, beyond the lust addicted way of think there is a kid desperate for some attentions. some ending are pretty drastic (poor histara), but with the scope of the war is fine. balance wise i found the impaler underpowered compared with orcent o grubbak, even with atk maxed he done very lo dmg. the orc elemental shaman are very dangerous, 3/4K dmg even with the best equip are too much. decrypter side: - if i understand correclty when histara send varia to blow the pass dominate varia give to the aramite front a +3 bonus (plus XP bonus RP point based), but reshaped only +2 and no other bonus, why? - after kiling the AoA the are a sum of all succubi defection (and ginasta RP), but in the calculation the best result (10+) give "IKD CD -2 and instability +1" , but the lower result (5+, 4-) only change "IKD CD" don't have a instability change is a bug? - in the "blood spire area" (if i understand correctly the conditional branch) if the negotiation went well "[Orc Bonus] swich set ON" don't use reserve troop, but if use them "[Orc Bonus] swich set OFF" there another check for the "Orc Bonus" Swich, but if you hace to choose if use the reserves the swich is set off for sure - in the negotiation hall talking to the nun succubus with religion >= 10 don't make change, but if the religion are < 9 founding the petiion give "religion +3 chalice +1" , and find this very odd - in the negotiation hall the dwarren petition if not funding increase "aram CD" valute, don't be the "aram" country value?

Bladestorm

Overall A great way to end the war, nice touch on that one Succubus mechanic where I had to use Simon ability to end the fight. I am glad to see so many effects on how what I have done affect what could help, while I didn't have the most optimized I think I did a good job where I could fund everything in Conference chamber besides the army ones where I had only one army left over. I think this update had the most toughest fights I've every had to play and while that was new it was a enjoyable experience where I had a deep challenge of keeping my troops alive and prioritize certain enemies first, The hardest for me was the one Unsuccubus I had to block, I don't know if that was intentional but man was that fight hard. (By the way is it the same one I talked to in the graveyard?) Nice touch also with the Incubus King where his finally words had me thought something was going on. Got to say it was nice to invest in Pron again, and to invest in a wider scope as well where it effects entire Nations instead of just our Country. While I can only speculate how bad it is I think overall not bad for my first run of the war.

Grif end

Hmm you don't ask for this in the description but i saw a number of people post them so, perhaps you have some use for them ? Anyway here's my numbers. ProN: 1483000 (3000 that and another 1480000 from the investements) Military: 2 Political: 5 Economic: 4 I chose Chalice trade, the elven library and rent-rooms, the Eustrin guild and the Mercenary regulation. Chalice: 34 New Givini: 11 Tak'Kan: 9 If you want i can list the affection scores as well Also a quick question is there any merit in saving your Military, Political and Economic resources ?

werewindle

Awesome update, again much more content than I anticipated! Most of the bugs I've spotted have already been reported, but let's see... When Geoff sacrifices himself, the IK says "evisercate". I am on an optimized save and when Vhalla discusses the Ardan front after the IK kills Geoff, the mood goes from oh-woe-is-us to a cheery "We've struck an incredible blow..." between two dialogue windows. I don't know if you can properly adjust for this, but it felt a bit jarring. The orc pit battle is by far the hardest challenge of the update, possibly of many updates going back like a year, heh. The mages are truly brutal, they savage Ralke and Implevon in one hit easily and even Impaler struggles to survive, which is bothersome, because he seems to carry the fights, yet he's hopelessly split between culling the trash and punishing the mages. Grubbak becomes ineffective against the dudes that matter the most for managing the overall healt stack - mages and armored dudes laugh at his elemental attacks, so he has to go with piercing/defense. I like that the battle is very challenging, butagainst the mages it's for slightly wrong reasons. I love the Incubus Castle party split, it's a great way to promote lesser used characters and the Carina buff is amazing. I actually went with her even against the IK and it kinda ruined the fight, it was just a long grind with Carina spamming heals. Maybe if the IK did some extra damage against non-Succubi, non-demonic harem members or something... Savepoints: the game nudges me to save just before the Incubus Castle mission despite already giving me free reign, so I already saved like three times... but AFTER the IK showdown and talking to the entire harem, the conversation with Iris triggers an amazingly long story exposition that took me over 30 minutes to go through... and very late through that sequence I had to *make decisions*, OH NO! My first reaction was "so if I want to check the other options, I have to grind through all the story again, aaaw", which was a bit immersion breaking, heh. Also a very minor nitpick, but some of the PRON petitioners turn around after being paid, while the major ones seem to face towards the throne all the time. Intentional? Anyway, I had a great time with this update, can't wait for the next chapter!

iamnuff

The scene where Simon meets Iris for the second time (the aftermath party) was everything I'd hoped for. You spend about five minutes going from person to person talking about the repercussions of your actions on every level. Neighbouring countries, the Church, the Unpeople, the Merchants, the Incubus-King's Orcish army. You spend solid minutes talking about that, then Iris pops up and you can tell that she has bottom-rung expectations for the new boss. ''I've prepared a list that I hope you'll read'' Then Simon just blows her out of the water with the thought and preparation that he and his people have been putting into the aftermath, since before the war even STARTED. I was honestly expecting tears of joy. Instead we get ''That's so fucking hot.'' Iris is so serious and sensible that it's easy to forget that she's a Succubus too. I guess we know her 'type' now. Edit: Tried to post this before and got an error. Might result in duplicate-post.

There doesn't seem to be an RTP link available for 0.29.1—or at least, there's only one link, and it tells me that RPGMakerVX Ace RTP is needed to run it. (I don't actually know what that means, but the website tells me that in that case, I should be running the RTP version anyway.)

Sheldon J. Dresher

Well... the update was fun in some ways and brutal in others for my main file.. however I don't believe my run is anywhere near 60% perfect.. I'll get to my scores but I want to reflect a bit on my experiences. #1 The orc battle was just as hard if not harder than Orcents held at the games.. Made me sad watching my superior orcs fall to the double mages so easily. #2 The sheer amount of items I found myself using over the course of this update baffles me to no end.. and I found myself using them mostly on the orc fights. Well that and to keep Hilstaria standing for every wave,, #3 I feel like the Incubus king dialogue at his death was humorous.. I totally thought he had something smart to say for once, like maybe he knew something that we didn't indeed know.. #4 I know you can't fund everything.. but damn did I feel like I was lucky to fund anything.. helped what I could probably doomed the fur people.. starving has to suck. #5 The update made me laugh..cry..mainly from frustration of reloading after the long sequence of failing the blood spire pits.. and a little sad..The comic relief i felt the Incubus king provided will be missed. now for how I stand..Chalice states: 26 New Givini: 13 Tak'Kun: 2 I do find it hard to believe that giving them the deed landed me such a small number for them but to each their own opinion and i probably had a negative moderator somewhere I'm not a code junkie sorry.. Ending notes.. liked it the ending made me crave more and i feel an era has finally ended and a new scarier one approaches.

IPM

Well, time to calculate a new way to use ProN most efficently and start a new playthrough :). There are some things I felt I could do without, but falling 5.000 ProN short and leaving out the mushroom farm is not acceptable :D. One thing on the investments though: that they are mostly X00000 makes it difficult to effectively use your ProN. Making some say 85.000 and others 110.000 etc. would bring a nice new problem to the player - spend your money so that you spend it all (not leaving 70.000 on the table like me), and maybe forego something you like (for example I wanted Min's investment no matter what the results. It's Min's investment!) for something that fits better into your budget.

Fulminato

checking the profit for the old investiment in the throne room, in the megaiil/ledger dialogue the "Yhilin Mine Processing" miss the end colon

Andrew Westwood

In the aftermath of the war I had 0 military left to distribute, and I think I played pretty optimally - reinforcing the Aram front, not needing units for Yhilin, sending troops to both fronts, etc. I just didn't get that final 1 unit from + army size. Will we get the opportunity to fund those military projects later, and is it especially damaging if we can't?

CharlesYU85

This update definitely has some of the best moments in the game for me (Incubus Emperor's humorous ending, Qum's bomb, the graveyard scene in general) although I am slightly disappointed in Commander Geoff's death since I was hoping there was going to be more history revealed regarding his relationship with Simon.

Also, considering Varia's nerf last update, I wanted to ask about balancing. Are you considering changing anything else? For example, this update makes you realize that most people are simply going to replace Altina with Riala since they have a similar game plan. Maybe Altina needs some synergy abilities to rectify this?

Well, that was a damned satisfying conclusion to the Arclent war. I really like the tighter narrative and pacing in these epic sequences as a contrast to the more open-ended sections - it gives the game a good flow. I'm looking forward to seeing where chapter four goes, as it sounds like it'll end up taking place across multiple dimensions, never mind multiple continents. The tantalising glimpses so far are very well done (also, very much enjoying the Blade Runner-esque end-of-chapter music as I type this). Highlights for me: the Qum Bomb (obviously); Hilstara and Altina's heroics; Simon's treatment of the unsuccubi and their subsequent reaction; finding out about Riala's lifespan and how she found Simon's shard; and Tyna's utter confusion about her abrupt relocation. I particularly liked the various fights that could be resolved with a bit of player initiative rather than actually defeating the enemy; I ended up with Carina tanking the wailing unsuccubus by spamming Divine Touch on herself, for example, which was heartrending because it's exactly the sort of selfless thing Carina would do. Increased speed of whole-party skills: yes please, especially the ones with lengthy animations like Unperson Aura. If it works for enemy attacks too, those Lust Wraiths in the Dark Ruin could really use it. Also, not sure when Shieldwall got a order-of-play boost, but it's a really good change, since it allows the player to mitigate the risk of the squishier party members being taken out in the first round due to bad RNG luck. That's Hilstara's job, and this change lets her shine in that role. Fights: balance seemed generally good to me - the optional bits were tricky but achievable. The orc section was a real challenge due to needing to rely on timely potion usage to get all the way through (using potions at all is unintuitive to me!), but I made it on the second attempt. The one change I might suggest is that the unsuccubi could maybe hit a bit harder to justify their terrifying billing; they never really gave me any trouble at all, but maybe I just have a defence-heavy party loadout. I'm interested in how people split their parties up in the Incubus Castle. I tried to get a balance of tanks, fighters, debuffers, arcane/sexual mages, and healers across all three groups, with the added wrinkle of keeping Vhala separate from the succubi. I ended up with this, which handled things pretty well (though sadly precluded the usage of most if not all of the synergy skills): * Simon, Nalili, Qum, Yarra, Altina * Riala, Hilstara, Aka, Uyae * Robin, Vhala, Varia, Carina For the Incubus Supercunt himself, I chose Hilstara to soak up the attacks, Vhala for her anti-sex skills, and Robin for her lances and her decent healing ability. It went pretty well - Vhala managed over 10K once with a critical Arrow of Abstinence, which was impressive. The difficulty felt about right, as I suspect a less well-equipped party would find him a big challenge. A random musing on Uyae's Takedown - it's pretty powerful for a 20MP skill, and very reliable since there's a large number of strikes. It's like a mini Blade Dance without the risks. I dunno if this is practical, but it'd be cool if it started with weaker blows (maybe 50% current damage) and increased linearly up to stronger ones (say to 150% for the final one). That way there'd be an element of variability since she might miss her stronger blows, and it's got face validity with the idea of her chaining up a big combo of hits with powerful finishers. Bug/typo reports to follow (sorry if there's any dups, I scanned the thread but there's a lot to read through!).

in the War HQ reconnect scene the repetate dialogue of megail is "We should lock in investments now" don't should be "We should look in investments now"?

Edward Culham

Not sure if this is intentional but Impaler's skill "Cull the weak" feels really useless. As it can only target one oppontent that you can kill with a regular attack as is.

Don't know if any one has reported this bug yet. But during the war when it switches to Hilstara and Varia in the Aram passes, I fight off the orcs until the ally Succubus delivers the report about one of the other passes being broken through, Varia leaves to close it and Hilstara stays to fight solo. This is when the bug seems to happen. I fight off the orcs again and Histara reteats a bit, but the previous dialogue repeats itself, starting from when Varia asks what is wrong with the orcs. It loops and I fight the orcs again. Hilstara retreats a bit and the dialogue loops again. It keeps going like this until Hilstara walks into a wall mid-way through retreating, at which point I"m unable to do anything but close the game. The music still plays and the game doesn't seem frozen, but I assume the script locks the controls. I guess I'm using optimized saves? They're from a previous version, but I don't know it that's the cause. I've had it happen twice now and I'm unable to progress past this point. I hope this is enough information, I've never really submitted a bug report before.

Minor thing. The guard in the treasury at the IK's castle says that she got trapped after the >>Lustlord<< did something or other. I think the Incubus Emperor is meant.

I don't have anything to say that hasn't been said already, but I will say thank you for making another great update, it really shows how much effort and love you put into it, and I eagerly await the next installment. Also a minor curiousity, did Balia not join in on the victory orgy, I don't see any mention of her in the text?

a very deep 'decrypter stuff': in the conference chamber the variable "temp1" (my undestranding) is used for keep track of the petitioner's number don't alredy adressed in the map, but there is a discrepancy. in the starting script there is a conditional +1 for the temp1 value if "ardoheim CD >= 25". but the petition tied to the ardhoeim cd variable (the yhilin ambassador) appear if "ardoheim CD >= 10"

I also want to say thanks to SL for so much excellent work.

Forgive me if this has already been covered elsewhere (I looked around but didn't see it)-- is there a save game file floating around somewhere with all the sex scenes unlocked? From the walkthrough I realized that I missed a couple here and there, and I would love to be able to read them in-game. (Thought: Might make a nice patron reward for, say, $[tier I happen to be at].)
