Alright, everyone, it's time to reveal the main side project I spent my break working on! Since it took longer than expected and cut into TLS time, I'm making it available to all $5 backers. This version is a complete game, but it lacks some art assets that I hope to eventually commission.

[These links were beta releases for backers. If you're here for some reason, please check out the finished game instead!]

Though I hope this version is an enjoyable experience and I think it should be pretty free of bugs thanks to the alpha testers, it isn't fully representative of what I intend the game to be. For that reason, I hope that it will only be played by patrons so I can do a proper release later. =/

Anyway! There will be art for the first several scenes, but after that scenes will be text-only. Since you guys are used to that from TLS, I hope you'll be understanding. This is a full game representing more gameplay and scenes than any TLS release, so I hope that everyone enjoys it while I work my hardest on TLS 0.31.0 (more on that in the next update).

Please do let me know what you think, either as you play or once you finish! I may put out more releases if necessary, but we'll keep discussion of the game to this thread.

The overall plan is to commission some art for this game and have a commercial release in early 2018. There are three reasons for the delay: I want to focus on core projects, it will take a while to commission all that art, and the Christmas season is a bad time to release. Don't want to compete with AAA titles like I did with Crimson Gray.

At that time, DoW will be like my other commercial games and follow the same rules. But for now, I wanted to let everyone play as thanks for supporting me in a career creating games!

well no surprise thsi one is death xD is from november after all.

I just recently played one of your games a decided to start supporting you instead of going through Steam. Once you subscribe how do you go about getting additional games and content?

Bug: At the end, Eldrick's CG blocks the right hand side of the Scene Room. It will disappear after playing a scene

Zyrus

So. I'm having a problem where my up key is seemingly stuck. Is there a fix for this?

Zyrus

I think I've found another bug; the immortal guard in the pyramid seems to be able to go twice in a row, and usually attacks twice to boot. It's pretty much impossible to do this fight without heal due to the silence wave, so I'm stuck.

Quiet Stranger

I am pleased with what I have played. Although the notion has been dispelled, my first impression of Felana evoked Robin for me. Serious. Studious. Humble-hearted and practical.

Vishal

Does anyone know where to find third soulstone?

Dubsington

OK, just a bit into the game (just got to the Dark Imp) and I love the basic idea. I've played enough of your games to expect a twist at the ending but it still made me grin when the narrative jumped in the beginning. It's a fun idea for an H game too; you can work a sexy encounter with few strings attached into all kinds of situations. Looking forward to learning all the mechanics involved. The daughter is annoying, but I trust your writing and you've always been good at making unlikeable characters either shape up or go away at just the right time. So the world is intriguing, the main character is great, the combat mechanics are interesting, and the sex scenes are hot in that uniquely Sierra way, where "consent" is a complex concept and not a simple boolean. So far so good! (Predictably, my inner pervert is hoping for a Felana/Trila pairing.)

Encountered what I think is a bug (spoiler inc). After Amnina and the fourth party member (forgot the name for now) gets captured by the three immortals you go back to the other party who are in the town with the steel sheep thats currently being invaded. When I enter the inn to explore and fight a monster I can no longer leave, whenever I try to leave it just says "I should check on Mom too". Maybe I missed something, but I can't seem to interact with anything else.

Jax

Hey! Loving it so far! Not super far into the game or anything (just got to the Capital), but really enjoying it. Disclaimer before I begin--I'm playing on Mac right now, so maybe things get a little wonky when playing through Wine. So a few things: 1) There's a weird graphical glitch in one of the small towns? https://imgur.com/a/z89HT 2) When characters conversing and are referring to custom-named characters, sometimes they refer to them as the new name, but sometimes they still refer to them as what you originally named them. There are many instances of a conversation referring to "Custom-Named Character", and then calling her Felana in the same conversation. A lot of it is in the opening town and in shops and such, but I've been finding it all over the place (with the daughter too--I only have the two of them unlocked right now). It's not huge, but just thought you should know in case no one else has reported it!

Awkwardly gotten myself a bit stuck so gotta ask for advice, the illusion forest, how exactly do you find the correct path there? Or an advice in the right direction would also be appreciated, as im prob missing something obvious.

Can't Wait

Great game so far. I've been spending far far too much time grinding around in Kolis. The extra switches and unpullable switch in the door puzzle tower got me randomly flipping everything I could for nearly an hour, but I've yet to find any combination that allows the stuck switch to be used, or any noticable purpose for a few of the switches. Oh well. The only problem that I've seen is a random odd bottom half of one of those two tile red blobs floating about above the shoe store in Mondeville. Seems very out of place and its precarious position makes me assume it isn't intentional.

Darthjake

Graphics glitch in the village with the guy next to the barrels, on or 2 levels up from the barrels, behind the shoemaker's home, I think a piece of reddish purple with all the greenery. Also I need a Holy Lilly? I think and the only place I have found them so far is the starting area, but Felena just keeps saying I don't need one right now?

Dubsington

Forgive me if I am being obtuse, but what is TP and how is it different from XP?

Darthjake

As I understand TP are Training Points and they are what you use to learn your skills. Also why do some of Anmin's attacks seem to heal the guards in Benin's castle and some other places? That Giant Mimic was nearly as bad as the Dark Imp, and Winged Lamia....

Troqu

Is escape not opening the menu a deliberate choice or something else? If it's deliberate: why? It's quite frustrating to have to use both hands for an rpg maker game.

Lea Winter

I've loving the game but I'm having problems with the casino, nothing game breaking but I'm unable to win anything from the hazard game. I've been trying to get the gold membership card but I'm not sure I'm just extremely unlucky(approaching the 99.99% confidence interval) or if the game just isn't giving the items. I get the text where it says something along the lines of, "This round goes to the grandma." But have yet to receive an item. Either way, I'm loving the game! Thank you for all your effort!

Seil

So, i think i am near the end of the game. Missing one Soulstone and have no idea where it is. Did pretty much what can be done. Thoughts, impressions and what not. Overall, the game is pretty great. I'll start with one thing i really really didn't like - frequent random encounters on the world map. Until i got airship, those annoyed me to no end. Speaking of airship. You get airhsip, get vague hints on what to do, and that's it. Enjoy your open world. Actually it would have been much better if there was a world map. Now, what i did like. Pretty much everything else. Characters and especially characters interactions were wonderful. Having main character as a prostitue was kind of refreshing. I really enjoyed Felana/Trila growing relationship. Anmin is great as well. Not only she's a mysterious mage, she is a futa as well. Lyrillan felt kind of... um... bland. She's just your noble girl, who gets some character development, mellows out, becomes better person and that's pretty much it... Hurray, i guess? Combat/gameplay. It was okay. Until... "Hello, i am bullshit optional boss and i'll teach you puny mortals what true suffering is". Some were easier than the others, but Dark Imp was probably the worst. On one of my attempts the imp simply did nothing but chain stunned Felana and Trila. So i pretty much got only 2 attacks in. But winning was SO worth it. *proceeds to furiosly stomp on the imp's head accompanied by incoherent shouting* But overall those optional bosses were pretty fun. Now, onto sex part. I quite enjoyed it. I enjoy female protagonists and Felana is great as the main lead. She's wonderfully written and obviosly knows what she's doing, I think i liked her scenes the most (plus she has the most number scenes in the game and there's a great variety of them). Trila and Anmin were pretty cute most of the time. That mix of shy and innocent was nice.

William M.

Bartolomeo failed to tell me two things: where I could find the third soulstone, and where I could find the last channel to the void. I managed to complete the latter by revisiting the castle we met Eldrick on the basis that reality was probably weak there. I also acquired Bennan's soulstone and the one from Lyrillian's family. I've seen you mention the third soulstone being directly east of Halika City, but all I could find in that direction was the Corrupted Light abomination (which I've already beaten). Any tips on where i could find the last one? Also is going to Circle Island supposed to yield anything or is it just a place to grind on low-level enemies?

William M.

Found a bug: If you finish the game via the Backup Ending, Eldrick's image remains on the screen, obscuring the right side of Replay Isle. This does not occur if you finish the True Ending.

Aaron Scott

Fantastic game! I'm enjoying it thus far! One Bug I've noticed: Felana starting skills "Nurse" and "Stabilize" are not in her list of skills learned (unlike her other starting skills Pierce, High Stab, Blinding Stab, and Heal). This means that if you ever remove either of those skills (either by accident or to free up SP) then those skills are gone for good. Trila doesn't have this problem, and I haven't gotten far enough in the game yet to know if other characters have a similar issue.

Can't Wait

Well, I finally finished. As great as I had hoped, though not having the placeholders would have made the ending more epic and not being able to experience that the first time has made me sad. :P A few very small notes. In the spiky ice caves it's possible to run into an encounter just as you step onto a pitfall, upon returning to the screen you can "float" over the pit and walk on to either side. Might be known and unfixable, because I can't think of whether you could make an event to check location after the fight. Even if you could it might not be worth the time since being able to walk over the pits changes literally nothing about that dungeon, but if there is an easy change... Returning to Benan's castle right after finishing the second visit you still get the intro bit about maybe being able to get a soulstone (even though it was in my inventory). I've noticed that that message disappears at some point, but it didn't seem necessary to take the time to figure out exactly when and how. Still, seeing it show up right after finishing was a bit odd. It doesn't mechanically hurt anything, but it's definitely avoidable. During the early game "find my master's dogs quest" (love how annoying those dogs are even after you find them), walking into the hotel while escorting the dock dog and exiting causes the dog to respawn on the opposite end of the map. I assume he will eventually reach you, but the girl will still react as though you have him with you even if he hasn't reached you. You could change his spawn to next to you after leaving the map and reentering, but honestly it's probably not worth the time. I had a couple other small things that I should have written down, but I couldn't drag myself from the game long enough and this wasn't really intended to be a bug finding run. Besides, like the ones mentioned above, none of them were important. Final thoughts. I love the dual "challenging" find everything fights existing alongside the "winnable without sidequesting or grinding" main story fights. It allows you to choose how you play and makes doing the side quests really make you feel powerful, which they should yet so often somehow don't these days. Having seen how long the game is, and how many events have art, I feel less strongly about having art matching too closely. It would still be a bit jarring to have it change too drastically, but I don't think it would negatively impact the whole experience as greatly as I might have felt before. One of the core concepts is about the sexual freedom of the characters. As much as I am in total agreement with the perspective of the characters in the game, the fact that the only characters who disagree at all are intentionally written to be idiots feels a bit too out of sorts with reality. Everyone of any importance with any reservations eventually comes to the conclusion that they were just being silly, and that feels a bit unrealistic. It isn't a large deal, but I would have liked to see a more reserved character to ground the whole experience. Perhaps TLS and it's plethora of characters with conflicting, but well thought out rational viewpoints has spoiled me :P Last bit, I swear. Ashamed as I am, I can't find any way of accessing the "maze-like" region in the Eleon wastes. It's recommended to speak to someone, but I can't figure it out at all. I'm fairly certain I've spoken to every person on that quarter of the globe, let alone the wastes (and the vast majority of everyone on every other quarter of the globe, though my two missing events in the gallery means I've definitely missed more than I thought). ANYWAYS. Fantastic game. I hope it eventually has the commercial success it deserves. I know some people tend to skip anything in RPGmaker so marketing with scenes that specifically don't look that way might be wise (though deceptive), and of course, prudes will always be prudes. Ruining the planet I swear. It's no coincidence that places with more prudish ideals also have the highest rates of sex crimes. Monsters.

Dubsington

Where are all the other halfbreeds? Since the races in DoW can apparently interbreed just fine and they live in the same towns, there will inevitably be a hell of a lot of interbreeding unless there is a compelling reason not to. Given how racially aware everyone is, I was expecting that Trila would be horribly discriminated against, but it hasn't been mentioned thus far in the game. So, if everyone is cool(ish) with halfbreeds and the opportunity to create them abounds, why aren't they all over the place?

Dubsington

So, what does a Contorted Stone do? Did I just miss an explanation on that one?

Dubsington

Does "Broad Healing" work on males too? *ducks*

Dubsington

When renting the baths at the inn in Villueoen, you get a chunk of text that says "Hot Baths Scene" and lists the characters. Not sure if this is a placeholder for an incomplete scene, or a bug.

Darthjake

And finished with the true ending, while there were some frustrating moments, I feel they were more on me, then on the game, I ended the game somewhere around level 60ish with the True Ending. Other then the bugs listed here, I have not seen any others to my knowledge. And I only have 2 scenes not unlocked. From the bottom left the 2 rows directly above , the 4th scenes to the right. Very well done, not sure how much replay I'll be doing since I was fairly thorough on this run through, but I definately want to see the CG's that have placeholders. As usual your text of the events was great, and the CG's that were in place just enhanced the story.

greyfox444

Is it just me or does the combat feel like utter trash to others as well? the main character stuk in healing duty through the combat the other 2 cant do any meaningfull dmg at all and gets 2 shoted by anything that is not a basic trashmob they all have status aplying abilities that never work so why bother trying and bosses just spamm silence so you cant do shit just auto and use items. the only solution it seems is to farm trash mobs for hours for no reason and then you might be strong enough to beat the bosses but since there is no indication how strong are you compare to them if you forgot to save often you might be locked in with the bossfight with nowhere to go so you hjave to roll back half an hour / hour gameplay to go back to farming. compared to the last sovereign this games balance seems atrocious sorry to say :S

Seil

So. True End achieved. Some apotheosis took place. It was suitably epic. I and was reminded of pretty much any SMT Chaos path ending. Which is a good thing i think. It seems to me that the true final boss is actually Primal Abomination. Or rather i fought it rather underleveled and it felt like a final boss, it was really hard, i had a few close calls and it was much more menacing than the ugh... thing you fight at the end. During the final assault my entire team was so busted, i pretty much face rolled everything, including the final final boss, to the point where i didn't even needed to heal. Well, i posted my general impressions earlier and they haven't changed since then. Desecration of Wings is a great game. Now you just have to finish TLS. =) P.S. https://imgur.com/M5xuuhV Also somehow i missed one sex scene. First row right half. The one between "Farmboy" and "Eleon whore"

Whismas

Minor bugs: -The quick job in the Noln's castle doesn't trigger the conversation event, which does mean you don't get the bonus if it's your 20th -Beating the steel sheep on your first attempt doesn't trigger the switch, so the conversation with Bartoleo will keep bringing it up.

Troqu

Finally finished this. Really liked the story here and Felana just may be my new favorite character. I missed 4 scenes, but with where they are in the rows I don't think they were major or anything. Here are some thoughts/questions: I really appreciate the foursome scene not devolving into incest. A case could have been made with how sexually open Felana is and Trila was becoming. It was also refreshing to be in the role of someone who is mostly content/knows where the rest of what she wants lies. Felana knowing what she wants in life was great. I missed a chest in the old castle south of Andenholm (or whatever the starting town is called) Is there any way to open the "locked" doors if you are out of the lamps? I got a treasure rating of 82 (maybe a bit higher, but I don't know if I found any more chests after I checked last), what's the max needed for the rewards? Is there extra contorted stones? If not I'm missing at least 5. One is possibly the one you could get from gambling, but I never won a single game there (or it's bugged, who's Grandma who does win all the time?)

DukeLeto7

Well, three hours into game, with two of them having been squandered gathering TP, I begin to see why y'all prefer to avoid mechanics that reward grinding. "The doomed voyage of the Obsessivo-Compulsivo will haunt me forever." -- Edward VanHelgen I think I'm going to step back and allow the RPGMaker grognards to dig in for a few more weeks and come up with a strategy guide that'll help me make a good single playthrough.

Seil

Speaking of statistics. I found 97 chests, 72 stones (or however many it was needed to fully exhaust the altar + 2 extra).

SSCat

I can't play it. Seems that I'm missing the RGSS202E.dll file. :(

HarmlessArachnid

A map design/unforeseen actions bug: while traveling with the airship, it's possible to disembark and leave it in the area northeast of Kolis. Then, it's possible to go south and hit one of the tiles of the city, and if a certain conditions are not met ("We can't just walk into Kolis"), the party is sent out of the tile... to the east, locking the player in another region, away from the airship (going back through that city tile is impossible due to the same message). Possible solutions: making the corner tile of the city send the player back to the same direction they came from (as far as I know RPGMaker's innards, that requires just a facing direction check), or just extending the mountain range one tile to cut off access to Kolis.

Aaron Scott

I've finally gotten around to finishing the game with the true ending! I have to say, it's not at all what I expected from when I started! Overall though, excellent job! One minor bug that I noticed: the River Cloak, which is a piece of equipment that can be purchased in the Fishing Hut in Fenville, the description states that it teaches {Swiftness IV}, but no such skill shows up in the Training Menu. I haven't gotten every equipment in the game, but it's the only one I've noticed to have this problem.

steve

Ok. I'm really confused about how I am supposed to get the true end. I keep running into places that say I need to learn more or do something else before I can access them. I have already captured the sacrificial site (the northern base with details about the rituals), but I can't seem to find anything else. I haven't met Bartoleo again, and I haven't found another way to find where I should go to search for the soulstone, the channels or the abominations. What exactly am I missing here? Just want to find a first step that lets me properly visit all these hidden places. extra note: I know I have to go to Bennan's palace, but "I don't have a good reason to confront him yet" I know I have to go to the castle eldrick disappeared at, but I can't open the right door, and I can't read the relic with my current knowledge I can't go to the pyramid, because there is nothing more for me there Finally, I can go to that place that looks like an arch, (broken shore) , but I can't don anything "until our plans are prepared"

Badger66

Ok so first off very much loving this game, but with your creations that is pretty much par for the course. I mean seriously, I have yet to be let down by your games. Anyways, I did find a couple of possible bugs. The first one is very minor and does not affect the game as far as I can tell. In Mondeville, there is a red slime thing that looks like it should not be there. It is located on the lower right side of the house above the boots shop. The other one is when the monster attack is happening in Mondeville. I am not sure if it is a bug or just something I am missing, but when I enter the Inn, I immediately get attacked. After the attack, when I try to leave it is not letting me and keeps saying (I should check on Mom too). From what I can tell, there is only the innkeeper inside the building, but I cannot find a way to get to her. So yeah I am not sure what that text means, but I cannot enter the Inn, because if I do I can't leave.

Badger66

One last thing that I can't figure out is how to get to the treasure chest in the bottom of the pub in Mondeville. I see no switches and everything blocks my path.

Dream Fractal

Quite enjoying the game so far! Your characters and world building are fantastic, as always. The game is very polished, but I have run into a few minor issues: 1. I see that other people have found the "trapped in the Mondeville inn" bug. Me too. 2. The Icon for Anmin's active skill "Fortitude" looks like the icon for a passive skill. The Icon should be changed to literally anything else for clarity. 3. The explanation of Anmin's active skill "Strengthen" is unclear. What is "Wisdom"? The only stats I really know about in this game are strength, spirit, and defence. 4. Felana's out-of-combat active skills such as "Nurse" don't need to be set to be used. I recommend removing them from the "Set Skills" menu entirely so that players don't mistakenly waste slots/points on them. 5. In the netherworld, when Felana meets the abominations that join her party, there's a part where one of them is supposed to be following her but is invisible, its existence only implied by the fact that the other is two spaces behind her instead of one. I think? 6. In the segment where you need to run from soldiers in the ruins, I was completely surrounded by them because they move while the “Run!” dialogue is still up. They probably should be paused until the "Run!" dialogue box goes away, as it’s unusual for bad things to happen while a dialogue box is up. As implemented, I had to fight most of them before I could move.

Blue Dragon

I'm enjoying the game, but maybe I'm missing something obvious--I'm not clear on where to go to get on to the true ending path. I've gotten the airship and visited the volcano, but reporting to Noln just sends me on the backup ending and everywhere else I go ends with me running into things that slaughter my (up to now having no trouble) party. What am I missing?

Pickle

Finally getting around to playing this. Really excited! Question: Do things which affect "flying" monsters (like High Stab) work only on monsters that have been afflicted with the debuff, or do winged things like Imps or wasps take bonus damage from it too?

Dream Fractal

Further into the game since my last comment—game is excellent by the way and the player characters are endearing and compelling. I have run into a few more issues: 1. A typo during the prostitution scene in the military base by the sea: "thickness of his shaft between her hips had Felana hotter" Double check, but I think in context, it should be "lips" rather than "hips". 2. I've had the "Face Brenan and take his soulstone?" yes/no dialogue box reappear when entering Brenan’s fortress after his defeat and imprisonment. 3. The shadow forest dungeon is awful. I'm avoiding reading too many comments on here for fear of spoilers, so I don't know if you'd had other comments on the dungeon. I have three concrete suggestions to improve the dungeon: a) Make the dungeon less dark. As is, I need to increase my screen brightness to see, then decrease it again in combat, then increase it again after combat, then decrease it again when I bring up a menu. Having to do this is tedious and hurts my eyes. b) Remove the combat encounters from the maze sections of the dungeon. Having to fight the same group of enemies 30 times while trying to solve a puzzle is tedious. c) The second section of the maze is too difficult and is about as much fun as spending an afternoon playing with a 9 digit combination lock trying to get it to open. I'd either remove the second maze section entirely (you've already had one maze after all) or provide a great deal more in-game guidance to the player as to how to solve it.

Dream Fractal

Finished the game! I got what I assume is the good ending. Cute. Here are the things I liked the most, in no particular order: 1) The key-eating mimic warms my heart. Bless this NPC. Would feed more keys to it if I could. 2) The PCs are all quite endearing. In particular, Felana is a unique and memorable protagonist. It's nice to such a positive and stereotype-defying representation of a sex worker. 3) Fantasy tends to depict evil as "other" and "inhuman", an external force that tempts humans into immoral acts. I love the way you turn that on its head in this game. I took the words of the abomination in the northern tower as a statement of the game's central thesis: that evil is not the "other", that evil is banal and human. It's an ambitious theme, and Desecration of Wings pulls it off.

Pickle

Hrm, I'm getting totally wrecked by the optional boss in the basement of Benan's Palace, the Fallen Mage. Is this supposed to be beatable before I go face Benan, or am I supposed to come back later for it? It just does so freaking much damage with its cheaty two actions per turn.

Zaknod

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. The concept was skewed from the norm of 'sex is bad' and 'game over rape' as well as 'monsters are all evil'. Making the protagonist into an experienced 'hooker' was brilliant, since games built around sexual themes should at least have one. The linear story was played out well, although could use an in-game world map during field travel. The difficulty was a little on the simple side if you stayed in one area for 10 - 12 levels. A quest log would be helpful since I kept losing track of what I was doing several times. If I were to rate the game, I would give it a 7/10. Some improvement here and there, but overall an enjoyable experience. I hope to see more should you get around to it.

SSCat

Okay, so... Where do I go to pump up that abomination that's an ally when it fights the "angels" all alone? I can get to the final boss of the area easy enough, but he just totally kicks my ass. Is there a weapon seed to equip to it?
