The good news: Lots of new people are playing TLS! According to the metrics, a ton of hours are being poured into the game on Steam, and a decent number of people seem to be finding the game for the first time. If that's you, hello! ^-^

The less good news: There are more questions and comments, I needed to deal with Valve to get the game classified as Early Access, and my time is otherwise getting eaten up more than normal.

The bad news: The game's number of reviews got frozen somehow, possibly due to the EA problem. D= I'll have to talk to Valve again next week.

The future news: The Once Ever After release is happening next weekend, probably for $10 backers first. I'm committing to that date - it's been put off for too long by other releases and I really want to show everyone. Please look forward to many more hours of RPG gameplay than a normal update!

Hell Satan

What EA problem EA has a lot of problem and I hate EA.

sierralee

Sorry, meant the Early Access problem. Thanks to everyone's support, I am hopefully immune to Electronic Arts problems, haha.

Trevor

Glad to hear of your success! Quick question, how are you planning to push updates to steam in the future? Same pace as public?

DukeLeto7

You could try to capitalize on Electronic Arts problems, put some of the money you get from Patreon into short selling EA stock. Admittedly, that would have worked better if you'd done it between August and December. (Price went from 128.97 on 8/24/2018 to 74.72 on 12/24/2018.)

Hell Satan

Haha man I should have bought since stocks before but I hate EA so much.

Amethyst

I am so glad to hear that TLS is doing great on Steam and more people are discovering the game.A friend told me about it a couple of days ago and I am hooked ever since.Hope the problem with the reviews gets fixed soon.I cannot wait for the release of Once Ever After!

sierralee

Glad to have you with us! Thanks for your support, and I hope you keep enjoying my work. ^-^

Trevor

Well that is good, the additional amount of play-testers will help a ton with balancing. Less likely to end up with 'perfected' saves from those who wander in randomly from Steam. Also the "play time" on some of the reviews is hilarious. Lots of 0.1 hours played and a few +100 hours played (most impressive considering how long it has been on Steam).

Dark Art

In regards of "less good news" - maybe its a good time to delegate? I am sure you'll be able to recruit half a dozen of trustees who know the game, responsible enough to represent you on those forums thus freeing up for time for more important tasks. I am sure that they will flag and bring to your attention anything important. As the community will grow, you'll have to do this eventually anyway, so why not start now?

Dubsington

Word. You haz loyal fanbase. We'd be happy to help.

Runcible Technician

Half a dozen on the wiki alone in my opinion. They do the wiki version of atlas holding up the earth.

sierralee

Yeah, I should have said that I'm already grateful for what the community handles - issues definitely come up that I don't have to touch because other people reply first. And I've started directing people to the wiki more often when it comes to time-consuming matters. I think the Steam community just needs time to develop, as many people don't want to be associated with a NSFW game there.

Dark Art

Dont wanna sound pushy, but now maybe the perfect time to screen for some forum admins - patreon community seems to be stable and loyal, while Steam community is barely formed. You'll be able to "grow your own staff for times to come" so to speak and veto the ones you dislike with minimal PR damage. Anyway, its up to you, just do consider it pls. Oh and no, I am not angling for those right for myself as I hardly ever use Steam and dont have the patients needed for that role even if I did use it.

Decanter

Review count issue seems to be fixed - game is now "Very Positive" on Steam.

sierralee

Yeah, Valve got back to me faster than expected. To my surprise, they said that they've had other reports of this, so it might not be the Early Access thing. It seems to strike randomly, but can be fixed by republishing the main page.

Seil

So, i am currently replaying the game on steam and i noticed a few consistency improvements here and there, like sprites for slimes in Devil's Pass are now orange to match their battle sprites, and i am not quite sure what other little touch ups were added, but it's kinda nice. Also Janine's speech at the end of Chapter 1 is probably one of my favourite things in the game.

sierralee

Many of these are the result of players reporting them, but yes, I do try to make improvements to previous sections from time to time. Even if my focus is on the newest content, the final goal is the complete game, after all.

Some Idiot

So recently got back to the game, and went from just murder major asshole to the current content. What a year of content, and i jammed it all in my head in a week. You are awesome! and i will keep backing you! keep it coming!!!

sierralee

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the new content and I look forward to creating more. ^-^

Jared

Not sure what happened to my earlier comment on another post, as it appears like it didn't show up or disappeared, but I wanted to say that in the 2nd scene with Sarai there are about 3 instances where it says "shift" when it's pretty apparent that it should be "shirt".

sierralee

1) It may have been eaten by the Patreon spam filter, which is not very helpful. 2) A shift is a type of woman's undergarment, though apparently this is a far less common word than I believed.
