April 14 Update (Patreon)

We have another piece of fanart! This one is a younger Megail in a rare relaxed moment. ^-^

There's still some pending stuff I want to show patrons, but it isn't ready. I'm also having trouble with artists for the NGM#3 cover and I'm irritated that things aren't going more smoothly, especially if it ends up causing delays.

Anyway, let's talk about TLS. Version 0.42.0 will include more investment returns, but more importantly it will unlock the next tier of research. Most of these will have deferred benefits, but one of these options will immediately unlock a new scene for Robin.

Another component that will definitely be included is the optional dungeon for chapter four. It's been a long time since I did much work on TLS combat, due to all the political sections lately, and I'm enjoying it. I hope this dungeon will be heavily strategy-based and maybe even disrupt some of the most popular strategies.

Not a lot else to say this week. Everything is moving forward.

Is this the dungeon that costs 1Million ProN to open (Or however much, I don't quite remember)? Oh I hope it is. That thing has just been one giant tease since the beginning of Chp. 4. Sorry to hear about the difficulties with NGM3, I hope that works out soon. Thanks for the update!

I do agree that I hope it is that one investment worth 5 million pron in New Givini. Been dying to know what the Incubus Emperor hid there, and to understand why he hid it away. Would love the copy of the book of NGM3 when it is ready. I do hope that TLS wil come out soon though.

My struggle will be to juggle both so they reinforce instead of distracting me. I'll do my best, anyway.

While I'm interested in what could be down there, I also hope there is some update content for players who can't or don't want to spend 5M yet. I find myself a bit restless to move on with the story after two updates of Gawnfall and one of Gawnfall aftermath. The art is... interesting. I'm not sure what's going on with the red on Megail's skin.

While the optional dungeon will likely be most of the combat, it will only be one part of the overall content. This update won't advance the plot by leaps and bounds, but you'll see things step up to the edge of the next major event. I didn't mention everything planned for the update here, just stuff I'd done a lot of work on. I think the red is just a way of doing flesh tones in that style.

I am wondering how essential is to open the optional dungeon now vs doing it one/two/whenever ProN iterations later?

Well, it's not going to seem that amazing, but it will contain one of the few truly unique items in the game. I try to give each chapter a different challenge, and the added challenge with this one is coming up with that much money.

Not essential to do it ASAP, but if you wait long enough it will be like the Deep Cache back in the first chapter.

Hm... Okay. I guess it can wait 1 more cycle then. Depending on how useful some other investements are going to be, of course. P.S. It's kind of funny, you're playing the game and generally combat, difficulty wise, is like a Final Fantasy game. But then Etrian Odyssey wanders in and punches you in the face. It's been four times so far. Infested House, Deep Cache, Hidden Port and Wendis' Wild RIde. And from the looks of it there's going to be a fifth.

How many research iterations have there been so far?

Late reply, but i believe this will be the 4th one in chapter 4. I remember researching everything with the exeption of Base Defences, and there were 4 subjects to research by the start of the chapter
